We’re down to the final 128 teams in this year’s instalment of the Members Cup as Gameweek 27 saw some big community names fall by the wayside including “Doosra”, “Back Back Ballack”s “dribbler” and “Gaz Downright”, among others.

“Evs”, now up to 20th spot in the overall rankings, navigated passed “CHUBBY” by a convincing 60 vs 41 scoreline but fellow big hitter, Jonah, slipped out of the tournament: despite being tenth in the overall FPL standings, he made way as “Dilley” put pay to his campaign by a narrow three point margin (42 vs 39).

Previous Cup winner, “Fuzzy Dunlop” is going strong thanks to a 40 vs 32 win over “DBREADY” but fellow Hall of Famer, “Kippax Kikkers”, departs the tournament, turned over by “BlzBob” in a close 38 vs 34 encounter.

As for the contributors, Paul continues to fly the flag – he made it through to Round Three thanks to a 46 vs 37 victory over Rossaldinho, as Big Dunc went out to “mcginley50”.

The draw for the next round will be published tomorrow afternoon.

I have a couple of questions for MLS fantasy. Hope it's not to early, but I'll be going to bed soon.

I saw last season's table. Are te same teams strong and same teams weak?
On wich team should/could we relay on for CS's and which score/concede a lot?

            IMO it's lightweight midfield too.
First I put Wando, Keane and Henry, but later I came to this.
Not much 4.0 and 4.5 defenders.

Wondo-Keane-Henry is impossible without destroying the rest of your team. Oduro from Columbus is a viable budget striker.

here is the situation guys, i have 7 players potentially with no gw29 fixture, RVP, aguero, Mata, Walcott, Zabaleta, Evans, Demel. what should i do this gameweek?

    a) RVP --> suarez (already have studge though)
    b) demel --> wilson (double up with bego in goal though)
    c) get rid of one of mata / walcott (though i have had them from thier lowest prices)
    d) bank free transfer

                They are due, then 😉

I'm not saying that Remy is going to get me consecutive double figure hauls, but replacing Pog in GW29 allows me to keep hold of Mata and Walcott, and getting a team of 10 out. I'm sticking to my guns and saying it's a reasonable punt, for 4 games at least.

SUN, avl, ful, WIG aren't exactly bad fixtures. I'm honestly tempted by him. Everyone seemed to agree that he was a bargain at 6.0, so why is he not an option at 5.7, after scoring on his debut, blanking against Man City and getting injured for a couple of weeks?

I believe they will be finished if they get nothing from their next 4. Therefore, they will need an attacking approach. This is a game of opinions I guess!

I think it's the quality the of players around him ( Remy ) and the general feeling that QPR already have one foot in the Championship that's putting people off. Villa may be struggling in defence but they do carry a great threat on the counter attack and definitely have goals in them. QPR look toothless and lost.

Throwing a fit, Benitez complains it was a mistake to give him title as interim manager. Even though he is the interim manager. Proving once more he is not 100% living in the reality. Actually glad for you Chelsea fans, his football philosophy is terribly negative imo.

It is unwise to phrase it very gently, to wish a new manager to fail before he has even sat in his office. Many Chelsea fans have made their Benitez hate a priority ahead of their desire for their team to achieve. enitez has every right to state so hard facts, an I'll bet he'll be glad to see the back of Chelsea.

I think accepting a job and job title, and then throwing a fit in the media about is quite unprofessional. Besides, everybody, and their cow, knows what working for Abramovich means. I would have been absolutely furious had he come to Spurs, and would have wished him gone. Strongly dislike his football philosophy.

The problem Chelsea will face if not careful is they will fail to attract managers of the level required ' One prime target is heading to Bayern, I wonder why? AVB, De Matteo and now Benitez have been treated shabbily by either the players, Abramovich or the fans.

I will bench him unless some news about one of my other players results in justifying the risk of including him in starting 11. One drop in price will not affect my sell value so will evaluate after next deadline. If he plays this weekend my sense is that he will start and play first half rather than a brief appearance at end of game

I posted this yesterday but check the boruc4.4 bunn4.2 rotation till end of season
Ditching bego and grabbing wilson could earn you around 1.0 mil spending money and boruc has QPR vs bego WHAM this week so it's not really a risk

Suarez for me too right now.

I like it but wait to see him play again and monitor his form if you can. It's a worthwhile punt but like people were saying above, Benteke also has good fixtures and is a bit more proven at the moment.

I like the idea of Remy, but I'd like it more if he was fit and showing form. It's a pity he's been injured because otherwise it'd be easier to discuss it's merits as a punt. Hope he starts against Soton anyway.

I have a week to think about it and see how he does at the weekend anyway. I may as well get someone in for Pog for GW29, as you want as many attacking players as possible on the pitch. I really don't want to lose Mata or Walcott either.

I'm probably hanging onto Mata and selling Walcott personally. Not only do I lose less value on Walcott but I also think Cazorla is a worthy differential for the run in whereas I don't fancy Hazard over Mata particularly. So I'd find it easier to sell Walcott and then decide who to get between him and Caz later.

But then again I might end up getting both for the DGW 😀

But jesus there's too many DGWs and too many players! Arrrgh!

Walcott and Caz served me well for the last Arsenal DGW, I might well go for the same again. It's all way too complicated, I love planning ahead but it's one GW at a time for now.

I think there's more chance of him playing than most people think, he could easily start and come off at 60mins when they're winning. For me i can't find anyone to replace him with apart from Suarez but i already have Sturridge.

People should bear in mind that Rooney will have crucial defensive duties against Madrid. SAF has a lead to protect, even if Utd were to score 1, a Madrid goal makes it very dangerous in terms of the away goal rule. Rooney as far as I'm concerned is far more prone to injury and fatigue. The defense and certainly the midfield are where Utd need to be fresh. RVP is a player that seems to thrive from playing.

I agree with this, although SAF said in an interview a few months ago that Rooney needs game time, and that if they rest him it usually takes 2-3 games to get back to full fitness.

I am coming round to that view. Thinking about going with 3 midpriced forwards (I have Kone and Fletcher) and going big in midfield. Lambert ? Sturridge ? Benteke ? Or a straight swap (+3.0) for Suarez ?

Problem, Marveaux. And I think it's time to dump Fellaini out after GW28. So 4.1 + 7.6 + whatever I can pick up on an RvP transfer.

    Right guys, need some help..

This is my current team, not making any transfers this week..Any suggestions for GW29? I don’t even know where to begin at the moment..

    Cesar,
    Enrique, Monreal, Zabaletta
    Mata, Walcott, Bale, Fellaini, Puncheon
    Aguero, Suarez

    bunn, shaw , O’Brien, Pog

Going to be benching Mata for certain, other than that, nothing planned.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Fellaini to Sissoko seems like the popular move. Then depending on the City game being on or off, I'd look at shifting Aguero or Pog. I'm trying to get a good attack out, at the very least.

Yeah. I actually considered not going, that's how bad we are playing right now! I was disappointed to see the Chelsea lineup too, but thought we might have a chance of getting to them. Once they scored it was over though. Didn't even feel like an FA Cup game to get the chance to play United @ OT. Bit disappointing really 😐

            I Can imagine...

Just looked at the table, you're still in with a great shout of the playoffs, but I see what you mean...some poor form lately. And it looks like you're losing far too many away games compared to your rivals up there. Hopefully things will get better and you go on a good run. Sammy Ameobi could be the difference 😀

The league table actually makes us look better than we are. We're only 3 points better off than we were at the start of 2013. Our form isn't bad, it's disgraceful!

I don't even want to be in the Prem, if Barnsley and Millwall players are running you ragged, we'd get crucified by Bale and Suarez.

Earlier this week I strongly fancied Utd to get past Madrid, far less certain now. Their performance against Bara was exceptional considering they were away from home. They hunted in packs, and took a high percentage of their opportunities. Ronaldo is adored at old Trafford, his second home, and finally has a big opportunity to upstage Messi. They have so much attacking quality, plus Phil Jones could prove a crucial loss. Madrid are a dangerous animal right now.

Their counter attacking quality is there for all to see, I really think that they can score twice @ OT. They have so much potential in the side, and when it all goes right they are devastatingly good against anyone.

I agree, they also suddenly look hungry and confident, the win against Bara and the manner of it will have a vey positive impact, a loss would have been damaging. I also think the title already out of reach helps, they have 2 completions they will go all out to win.

Definitely, this is the biggest game of their season. It's insane to believe that the same players who have had so many bad results can suddenly turn it on and look like the best side in the world. We could see Mourinho running down the touchline again, I think 😉

I think the first leg means very little. Man Utd achieved their objective of keeping the score down and nicking an away goal.

Ok, that's good for Man Utd. But it's not a huge advantage.

Man Utd still have to perform and win a game against a top side...anything could happen. And I just don't see it being 1-0...or at least it's hard to imagine.

If I was to make a prediction I'd say 2-2 with Madrid scoring a late goal to break hearts 🙁

Leaning towards that myself, though should Utd get in a position where the need to score, it become a touch dangerous, as Triggersaid regards Madrid ability to counter, could end up 4,2 to Real.

I just fear for Man Utd if they lose control of the game early on. Strangely it feels like Man Utd have more to lose than Real. You normally wouldn't say that about Real but the way their season has been they have been kind of used to disappointment thus far. Whereas Man Utd are running away with the league but have flaws in their defence at times and have been bailed out by their insane attacking play a lot.

In just 90 minutes of intense football it will be interesting how they try to dictate the play. I'm not sure they really can though. I think they will just have to go out and give it socks. If they try to score and then sit back I don't think that will work. They will ultimately get found out. They need to approach it as a game where they take the initiative and take the game to Real. RVP will be the difference if they go through in this one I think...massive game for him.
