We’re down to the final 128 teams in this year’s instalment of the Members Cup as Gameweek 27 saw some big community names fall by the wayside including β€œDoosra”, β€œBack Back Ballack”s β€œdribbler” and β€œGaz Downright”, among others.

β€œEvs”, now up to 20th spot in the overall rankings, navigated passed β€œCHUBBY” by a convincing 60 vs 41 scoreline but fellow big hitter, Jonah, slipped out of the tournament: despite being tenth in the overall FPL standings, he made way as β€œDilley” put pay to his campaign by a narrow three point margin (42 vs 39).

Previous Cup winner, β€œFuzzy Dunlop” is going strong thanks to a 40 vs 32 win over β€œDBREADY” but fellow Hall of Famer, β€œKippax Kikkers”, departs the tournament, turned over by β€œBlzBob” in a close 38 vs 34 encounter.

As for the contributors, Paul continues to fly the flag – he made it through to Round Three thanks to a 46 vs 37 victory over Rossaldinho, as Big Dunc went out to β€œmcginley50”.

The draw for the next round will be published tomorrow afternoon.

Looking to set a team that works next week and for the inevitable DGWs as well. This is what I currently have.

    Minge
    Baines* Samba JEvans* Davies Wilson
    Mata* Walcott* Michu Fellaini* Bale
    Pogs* Suarez Aguero*

I'm saving my FT this week. And next week, I'll have 8 on the pitch as it stand + the 2 FTs. I feel like playing 10 instead, and to maximize the points, I'll be getting rid of Aguero and Fellaini and bench Baines. (Since attackers usually get more points than defenders.) I'd rather take a hit for some DGW to load up than take a ht on fielding 11.

    Is my thinking correct?

Baines and Fellaini are the obvious standout transfers for me, as fixtures take a turn for the worst.

Well surely he'll be gone soon. But then would you rather play with 1 striker next week or 2? If you're down to 10 men in any case?

Whoops. Ya if Aguero's fixture stays off then I would probably take a hit to replace him..

I count 7 on the pitch next week.

I would sell Fellaini and Aguero next week for sure. I'd also consider taking a hit to upgrade POG.

Well yes, there you go, 7. I'll probably just take a hit then. Pogs upgrade? I was thinking of keeping him and go with the 3-5-2 formation. I can also get rid of Fellaini, Aguero and Pogs. And get maybe Sissoko, Lambert and Lukaku/Cisse.

I don't know if it will mess with your strategy but it seems daft to keep a player who won't play for 3 games and sell a good player with a 1 week blank for a hit.

I guess you have to work out if investing the extra money in your 3rd striker has a hugely negative impact on the rest of your team.

Are you in favor of having a heavy front 8 though? Looks like there aren't really very good options in the expensive price bracket. Suarez, Lambert, Lukaku?

I'm in favour of whatever combination of players scores the most points!

With the blank and the doubles, I don't think 343 vs 352 talk is particularly helpful.

Work out what kind of team you will be left with if you upgrade Pog by looking at likely targets with the DGWs in mind.

You will have a fill week to think about it if you save your FT!

Cool. Don't plan too much but just keep in mind how your overall budget allocation would be if you had a couple of million more spent on a striker.

Slight correction from a previous comment - you would be selling Pog after one match of his ban has been served, so you're selling a player without a fixtures for 2 games

Unanimous. Cheers lads. Though now that gives me a problem of what to do with my 5 man midfield that I want to construct by selling van p and buying bale. Means I'd have to bench the striker I'd take a hit for if I played bale and sisso and 2 strikers. Hummm

It's an odd problem. Try disabling your screen saver. Sounds odd I know. I think they are usually graphics related.

          Have a look at this:

          http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html

KPs are usually quite complex problems as far as I understand. You might be advised to 'seek professional help' from apple.

Actually come to think of it, if you're bumping it, could be a hard drive problem as that's the 'spinning part' in there. Hardware test your hd

Id say it depends on.what team youll have without him.

If you have bench players that arent actually playing then if say yes. If not then swap for one of them

Not as far as I know.

We know Chelsea, Fulham, Everton and Arsenal have a blank and Arsenal have a GW33 double (100%) and Everton possible a GW33 double (depending on FA cup progress).

There's speculation that, if United and City's games are postponed, they won't fall in GW33 so we will have 2 DGWs.

That's it. We're waiting to hear reagarding United/City games

...March 12th/13th (GW29) and less than 11 days in advance if arranged after Saturday.

I suppose it's theoretically possible for them to be rearranged to fall within GW29 after Saturday's deadline but I don't know the likelihood.

I personally won't be selling any United/City players if we don't have confirmation by the deadline.

Isn't there the precedent of no league games while CL is on?

If so, aren't both Manchester games 99% out for a midweek 29 reschedule?

Even if thats not the case, timescales seem far too short now for GW 29...

Manchester United looks more unlikely due to the fact that it was due to be televised. Being midweek and on TV seems unlikely due to UEFA, but it has happened before I believe.

City have a bigger chance of playing mid-week GW29. UEFA could still block it though.

They have blanks unless we hear otherwise.

PL games have taken place on CL nights before, so it's not a rule that's set in stone. I think there's not been many of these, but that's been more because the PL clubs involved don't want one of their home games competing with a CL game on TV, rather than it being a hard and fast directive from UEFA.

Its going to be carnage on here next week! I doubt anyone will be able to avoid points hits to field a full team.

Taking out RVP sucks too because no point replacing him with Rooney or Aguero either as they are both in same boat come GW29.h

There are a few who WCed in GW25, loaded up on 'Pool and Swans players, saved their GW26 transfer and were able to make 2 GW27 transfers knowing about the potential blanks.

I am lucky enough to be one of them and should be able to field 11 without a hit 😎

well I am kind of looking in from afar, but it seems that other interested parties are trying to rival the Supporters Trust bid, which had already been given preferred bidding status. Relegation without the 10/20 point penalty will result in it being rolled over to next seasin in league 2. The football league have said though that if Pompey aren't out of administration by next season start they will be thrown out of the football league.

I know most of us are holding RVP until the MUN WHM fixture is rescheduled but hypothetically, if by GW28 deadline we are still in the dark, are you going to gamble and make the transfer anyway or keep 14m on the bench for 2 weeks?

Point is if we still dont know would you think MUN play on GW29 is more likely or less likely if you HAD TO GUESS

It also depends on whether RVP is in the squad for Norwich.

If yes, you could potentially be selling RVP despite him playing in both GW28 and GW29.

      I'd keep in that scenario.

You'd bench RVP if he was confirmed fit and SAF said "He's fine. I'll give him 60 minutes as he has played less than 90 minutes over the last 3 week"?

Unlikely he'll say it, but likely it would happen if RVP's injury isn't serious IMO.

my defence is unupgradable πŸ˜‰ - leading the way to a 7m striker like you have suggested- benteke and kone are in my thinking too though as well as lambert- its too TRICKY. thanks.

Maybe next week or GW30. Will be playing Bunn anyway in GW29.

Can already field 10 in 29, not sure its worth a FT to replace Demel πŸ˜†

They will come good eventually and you'll want some cheap cover. Demel isn't exactly nailed on these days either so I reckon it'd be worth it to field an extra player in GW29 if thats the outcome

Yep it was Architecture... as I recall it is still one of the most time consuming courses around...

On the run up to final presentations I remember being in the studio from 9am to 10pm every night... and this was for like 2 months straight...

Very hard to do that when you have to work 30hrs+ to be able to afford your accommodation, living costs etc...

As much as I loved my course, I certainly do not miss it...

Yep. Its a shame you couldn't qualify for a student loan or allowance like we can in NZ. It helps when you can study full time and not have to work, or at least not work much. Our Studios are roughly 4-6 weeks each whereas the Architects had a studio every 2 weeks, mental. πŸ˜•

Assuming all blanks are confirmed. My team for GW29 were I to do nothing between now and then is:

    *drumroll*

lining up in an unorthodox 2-2-0 formation with no keeper:

    Davies Pearce
    Michu(vc) Bale(c)

BOOM! Bale hatty, Michu brace in a Swans victory to nil and I'll be 50+ easy πŸ˜•

I've got a free this week and next, plus I might take a hit or two. So I can aim for perhaps 8 decent players on the pitch should the worst come to the worst.

Bad, but maybe it wont hurt my rank too much

Game week 29 is going to break my heart πŸ™

Only have 5 players in Sky Sports game. Mata, Mig, Cameron, Michu, Sturridge

I have a 30 point lead in my work league, which has some impressive prizes up for grabs.

Its been good while its lasted πŸ™

    Mignolet, Jaask
Luiz, Wilson, Clyne, R Martin, Enrique
    Walcott, Mata, Puncheon, Noble, Michu
    Fletcher, RVP, Sturridge

Thinking of doing RVP > Lambert this week and Noble > Sissoko next week

Then in week 30 Jaask > Bunn to free up funds for Fletcher > RVP for either a 4 hit that week or free the following week.

    Good Plan?

Transfers are very precious right now. Don't waste it on your No.2 goalie, imo.

Ah. Looks good to get you by. Id still be dubious about ditching Robin though. Wif you do what about Aguero?
