We’re down to the final 128 teams in this year’s instalment of the Members Cup as Gameweek 27 saw some big community names fall by the wayside including “Doosra”, “Back Back Ballack”s “dribbler” and “Gaz Downright”, among others.

“Evs”, now up to 20th spot in the overall rankings, navigated passed “CHUBBY” by a convincing 60 vs 41 scoreline but fellow big hitter, Jonah, slipped out of the tournament: despite being tenth in the overall FPL standings, he made way as “Dilley” put pay to his campaign by a narrow three point margin (42 vs 39).

Previous Cup winner, “Fuzzy Dunlop” is going strong thanks to a 40 vs 32 win over “DBREADY” but fellow Hall of Famer, “Kippax Kikkers”, departs the tournament, turned over by “BlzBob” in a close 38 vs 34 encounter.

As for the contributors, Paul continues to fly the flag – he made it through to Round Three thanks to a 46 vs 37 victory over Rossaldinho, as Big Dunc went out to “mcginley50”.

The draw for the next round will be published tomorrow afternoon.

    To expand on something above...

City and United have blanks unless we hear otherwise. Unless we hear otherwise in the next 2 days, it's looking unlikely that they will be in GW29 (although not impossible).

Despite this, I still think selling RVP is a huge risk. We could always do it next week (if at all) as it's still possible he will play this week.

I can imagine that, if United do have a GW29 fixture, a lot of people who sold him this week complaining that they were given bad advice.

I agree with the RVP scenario. Its why Im holding and probably will risk fielding him in my team this week.

I already have sold RVP this week for 3 reasons:

      a) Poor form
      b) Hip injury
      c) Champions league game

I have took Lambert who is looking much better than RVP compared to form.

        Poor form 😯

        Hip injury - not confirmed

Champions league game - This is a worry. There's still a good chance, if fit, that he'll get 30-60 mins. He's had less than 90 minutes of game-time in the last 3 weeks after all.

I don't want to repeat the GW 29 discussion, so just about RVP...

I know its only meant to be brusing but the injury against QPR looked bad. I can't see RVP playing with Madrid days later.

Conspiracy theory - its worse than brusing, and SAF is playing mind games for the benefit of Mourinho /tinfoilhat

He probably is fine right now, but the fact is Fergie will not risk it playing him in case (very small chance) that he picks up any other kind of knock which would rule him out of the biggest game of the season.

Speculating on RVP's fitness is a bit hit and miss, until SAF says he's ruled out. And even then, we can't be sure. Fortunately his price seems to be holding steady so no need to rush into a decision.

He's flagged though - it appears this season that there's a 150% rule on drop targets. If the news remains uncertain then it's possible his price will remain the same until the deadline.

If we haven't heard anything, I think I might get rid. I'm chasing a small lead (though defending another one) and it seems too much £ to be tied up for 0 points over 2 weeks. Getting him back in shouldn't be a problem if I need to.

If GW29 then has a rearranged Man Utd game in it, I'll have to take it on the chin.

I have Chesney and Cerny right now, meaning no keeper in GW29. It might be a good idea to keep hold of Chesney for DGW but I'll have bags of cash to upgrade Cerny for a hit

    What should I do:

    a) nothing, it's probably just a lost 2 points and Chesney is good enough for the rest of the season
    b) Cerny > Bunn (-4) and then Bunn is mostly just a backup
    c) Cerny > Reina (-4) and play Reina for Pool's nice home fixture run

I have DDG and Cerny - if United have a blank I'll just play with no keeper.

      a IMO

B relies on a Bunn CS/penalty save and ties up an extra half mil in a player who probably won't play in your team again (all being well)

Very similiar set up to my team. There isnt really anything pressing, just Demel. You would also only have 10 players for the dgw, so Clichy out maybe if you want to feild 11? I might keep Zab though and feild 10. Team looks good 😀

      Sissoko. OBVIOUSLY.
I am in a dilemma because my 5th defender is Puncheon, who is as uncertain as RVP.

Yep my front 8 is solid. Obviously relying on easy choices such as injuries, suspensions blanks DGW's etc to guide my decisions on who to bench

I understand when people have a dodgy cheap attacker they'd rather not play. Another reason why I'm comfortable with a big 8. I can afford to bench players such as RVP

Got a major headache with my team now:

    Bertrand
    Pearce
    Pog

Those Reading players have really stuffed me up.

Thoughts on Bramble? Thinking of him in for Bertrand this week.

In two minds, save a transfer or go RVP > Suarez this week.

I guess with the former I can always do the latter next GW. Will wait until Friday/early Saturday to decide I suppose.

That's what I was thinking but already have Sturiddge and not 100% sure that RVP will miss this next GW. Think saving the transfer so I have 2 to sort out my team for GW29 maybe my best bet.

Although that will probably just end with RVP > Suarez anyway.

Too many... but he wasn't as ruthless as Abramovich. You're looking at Managers being sacked within months of winning league titles, FA Cups, Champions League trophies here... yeah he's pumped money into the club and brought (bought) them success but if I were a Chelsea fan I would not like the way the club was being ran one little bit.

Yeah Roman is TOO ruthless. I draw comparisons with Shepherd though because i think for the teams we had at times over those 10 or so years after KK. He was expecting too much from the managers.

Perhaps... I think it comes down to the expectations of the fans though. By the time 2008/09 came round it was almost as though we needed relegation to clear out the deadwood and revise expectations.

For all the criticism Ashley has had, and he does still have a huge PR blunder up his sleeve, I'm proud of the way the club is being run... it's sustainable and transfer targets are seemingly well thought out.

"Don’t think he was being selfish in taking the job" - Of course he was! What makes you think not??

"if he knew he wouldn’t be wanted then Abramovich knew too" - maybe, this is what has annoyed us fans as it was such a stupid appointment that was never gonna work. The board & Rafa are to blame, but at the end of the day it's hard to criticise Roman when he's helped bring us so much success.

"I’m amazed there isn't more discontent shown towards Abramovich"
Trust me, there is. It's more at the board though - people like Buck, Gourlay, Emanelo.

Selfish taking a job he was offered at a top European club? No, I don't think so. If he was offered the job, he isn't being selfish taking it the buck has to stop with those offering him the job in the first place if it was so inevitable it wasn't going to work. I don't know enough about the rest of the board to comment.

It seems to me that as long as daddy keeps flashing his credit card, his children will still love him.

Ok, maybe not 'selfish' - what about 'stupid'? Rafa knew he wasn't going to be liked by the fans due to the tripe he came out with in the past; and that's clearly been proven.

"the buck has to stop with those offering him the job in the first place if it was so inevitable it wasn’t going to work." - I totally agree, hence what I said about the board in the previous post.

"It seems to me that as long as daddy keeps flashing his credit card, his children will still love him." - not entirely true, getting rid of good managers isn't liked by the fans, but at the end of the day he has to be appreciated for the value he's added to the club since his arrival.

Yeah fair enough ... good to get a bit of insight from a Chelsea fan at least. I mean, if you were offered the Chelsea job on £megabucks until the end of the season and you were out of work, would you take it?

Seems to me like all final decisions regarding managerial appointments/sackings are taken by Abramovich but anyway.. best of luck with the next one!

"I mean, if you were offered the Chelsea job on £megabucks until the end of the season and you were out of work, would you take it?" - yeah, I'd love to lol - I'd manage it for free though being a Samaritan and all 😉 In all seriousness, he knew what he was going to be in for, he can't moan at the fans when he knew he was going to be hated by the fans, and yes, he KNEW 😉

"Seems to me like all final decisions regarding managerial appointments/sackings are taken by Abramovich but anyway.. best of luck with the next one! " Of course, we all know this. But if that's the case; what's the point in Buck, Emanelo, Gourlay being at the club? They should be having some influence.

Only looks like you're missing 5 for GW29 - with a couple of freebies available you have a fairly good chance of fielding XI without any additional hits. Demel and Nolan would be my preferred 2 to shift, probably for Wilson and Sissoko, and it looks like you have the funds to do the Demel switch this week and Siss the next.

    Which Transfers should i make?
    A. Monreal, Ruiz -> Lambert, Wilson – 4
    B. Felliani, Ruiz -> Lambert, Sissoko – 4
    C. Save Transfer

Currently have 6 players for GW 29

    Begovic Bunn
    Monreal Hughes Demel Clyne Davies
    Walcott Mata Michu Bale Felliani
    Rvp Ruiz Sturridge
