A fortnight ago we arranged a deal with the guys at TotelFootball, setting up a free to play “Private Pool” in their game to allow our visitors to try it out. Entry to that pool is still open and, with the top four scores from now until the end of the tournament used to calculate the winners, there’s still all to play for with a 16GB Apple iPad 3 Retina Display worth £399 up for grabs, along with 2013/14 FFS memberships for the top three.

In addition to the FFS Private Pool, any Scouter who registers with TotelFootball will get a free £10 in their account, with no deposit required, so you can try out the Main Pool game. This means you can play TotelFootball’s Main Pool game for free for the rest of the Champions League tournament, with a chance to compete against the top TotelFootball managers for the weekly prize, whilst also fighting it out in the Fantasy Football Scout Private Pool.

The FFS Private Pool – Current Standings

“jkane89” is the current leader of the Fantasy Football Scout Private Pool, amassing no less than 76 points in the last round of matches. Doubling up on Porto’s defence, he also fetched heavy returns from the likes of Milan midfield duo Kevin Prince Boateng and Stephan El Shaarawy. His lead at the top is narrow, however, with “DLL18” just a single point behind on 75 – he too benefited from Porto’s defence with Helton in goal, whilst Joao Moutinho’s 10-point haul also provided a boost, along with Toni Kroos contribution against Arsenal.

The Main Pool Game – Free Bet Offer

“DLL18” also chose to back his expertise the Main Pool game and his 75-points total won him £99 for a £2 stake. If only “jkane89” shared his foresight. Ouch!

TotelFootball have given every FFScout signup a free £10 bet, so no excuses.

To Sign Up
There’s still time to catch out manage “jkane89” and co., but you’ll need to act fast. Register an account via this link and get pick your team for tonight’s games now.

We’ll be publishing a Champions League player picks article later today, focusing on our tips for this round of TotelFootball.

Finally a reminder that TotelFootball is only available to those aged over 18 and over and, if you’re going to take up this offer and play, please gamble responsibly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What's the general consensus round these parts. Take this week on the chin and save the transfer for pending doubles or take some hits to try and field an 11? Currently sitting on 9 but that includes Sturridge and Kebe

The problem is that the guys with blanks generally have nice fixtures after. So if you transfer them out, you'd have to bring them straight back in. I have 8 at the moment and i'm debating whether to even us the ft. I wouldn't take a hit.

Apart from Kun, I don't want to get rid of any of them and even then his injury might just be minor. Think i'm joining you in saving the transfer

Depends on who you are selling/buying.

If the blank is a good excuse to get rid of someone you're not sure about for a free and get in someone you wanted anyway, go for it.

I'm doing Fellaini > Sissoko for sure and saving my other FT.

I could do RVP > Suarez (and probably Suarez/Sturridge back to RVP) but it's a waste of 1 or 2 transfers depending how you look at it.

I got 11 theoritcally without hits, but in there are Kebe, Fed, Sturridge and Cuellar who I am relying on. I might ditch either Sturr, Kebe or Cuellar (long-term move) for a hit or two, depending on injures and whatnot.

Mata's dip in form is exaggerated.

    A cameo against Wigan.
A tough away game to City where Chelsea played abysmally.
A home game against WBA where he had a few chances and was lively.

Take it easy folks, don't wanna make a big mistake now, do you?

given the form of Bale, and the continuing value of Michu and Fellaini, he is in teh power 5 relegation zone, probably even in 5th place given the threat of Walcott despite a couple blanks

given that folk are trying to get as many players out this week as possible, they are this looking for a justification to lose Fellaini, Mata or Walcott and finding Mata the most viable candidate.....

I get that, but as I said to you a few GW's ago, Mata's stats are becoming worrying, and it's coincided with 3 (?) blanks in a row. Added to the fact Chelsea are in 3 competitions meaning he will most likely be rotated I think I'm gonna get rid of him, and maybe get Lampard in.

I don't get peole trying to captain Cisse at all( and i have seen quite a few trying to give him the armband. He is so low on confidence it's unbelievable. Even Sissoko would be a better pick.

As for who he is up against, he's played weaker teams recently and still not managed to score more than 1.

People are not trying to captain Cisse, they are captaining him 😉

And as I mentioned above, sure, he's not flying atm, but he scored a 30 yard volley not long ago, so he's obviously not completely bereft of confidence...

Yeah, wondering the same... feels wrong getting Bramble in though, especially as Cuellar would be the one I would ditch. Maybe I'll do Cuellar -> Hill/Turner, but seems overkill to do that for a -4.

I have of late—but wherefore I know not—lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercises, and indeed it goes so heavily with my disposition that this goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory; this most excellent canopy, the air—look you, this brave o'erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire—why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapors. What a piece of work is a man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty! In form and moving how express and admirable! In action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god! The beauty of the world. The paragon of animals. And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

I just can't see that it's worth it when your 3rd and 4th players would only get 4 points (after deductions) for a clean sheet which is the equivalent of a non-penalised defender conceding 1. I suppose it gives you more freedom with the rest of the team but it seems a fairly low reward tactic.

Or am I approaching this from the wrong angle?

Does anybody have any knowledge about the Cuellar situation? Do you think Bramble will continued to be preferred and Cuellar is out of it for good? The results with Bramble playing have been less than impressive, and he did have that big mistake backpass which led to conceding a game ago.

Those last 2 statements about Bramble could have been made at any point in his career and been wholly true
Of all the players in the PL his continuted prescence is the most baffling.

Yeah, I was just assuming he was easing Cuellar into it but he hasn't featured at all in quite a few games sitting on the bench. I might just take my chances and hope logic prevails, and that he'll be back in the starting lineup soon. If I take him out it would be for a hit.

For those talking of going with 8 and no bench, there's also a good chance that will be whittled down to 7 or 6.

For instance this week I had Aguero and Sturridge miss out. Check your history to see how many times your starting 11 all started, you'll be surprised

Not in my case, i have been able to field 11(without atm subs) almost every week.

However, 2 of my 10 this week are Cameron and Onouha 🙁

You're probably right. Cuellar->Bramble it is then. Yuck.

But would you take a hit for someone you would not want long term to put out a full 11?

Humor me, how many you field shouldn't really be a factor? I mean -4 is still -4, it's all about who you are trading out for who you get in. Am I missing something? Lack of captain choices and such I guess, but still.

Here is an interesting fact - Giggs has scored more goals in the Premiership this season than Valencia, Young and Nani combined. And Giggs has only scored 2..

So Kagawa scored as many as Valencia, Giggs, Young and Nani in the last game alone.
