Having failed to produce any attacking returns in his last three appearances, and with no league fixture on his agenda this weekend, Juan Mata is being sacrificed by significant numbers of Fantasy managers in an attempt to address the conundrum that is Gameweek 29. The Spaniard has been sold on by over 46,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, more than any other player so far but with three home games in four following directly on from his blank (WHM, sou, SUN, TOT), the potential for points is just around the corner. In this latest article for members, we take a look at his recent displays to ascertain whether there is any reason behind his current malaise.

just compared remi to benteke in the comparison tool, in the hope of saving enough money for next week to bring rvp.
ouch….
guess i’m stuck with rooni next week…Open Controls-
Remy has played 3 games, and scored 2 goals. What more do you want?
I'm in the same boat, as I did the exactly same thing as you, and discovered Benteke had the better stats. But take into account that QPR are riding on a win from last week, and Villa have barely had a shot in their last 2 games.
Plus, Remy was a bargain at 6.0. He then scored on his debut, blanked against City and then scored last week. And is now 5.7. How is he not even better value than before?Open Controls -
Why don't you use the tool to compare Rooney to RVP for the last 6 weeks to make you feel better about it
Open Controls-
cheers

Fun little 4 minute Sporcle quiz. Name the top 3 scorers for each Premier League winner.
I got 57/60.

I like these
Open Controls -
I got 60/60
Open Controls -
53 and missed 2 because I spelt them wrong 🙁
Open Controls -
55/60 (would have been 56 but I couldn't spell Ljungberg, and wasted valuable time on Ole Gunnar Solksjaer!)
Open Controls-
er, SPOILER ALERT 😳

I think the Football Ramble podcast was mentioned on here sometime last week. This week, it's worth listening to, for the profile at the end of Steve Savidan, a French cult footballing hero. A true story of triumph over adversity, filled with equal measures of joy and sadness.
Open Controls -
Hi lads - please bear with me, I'd really appreciate a few opinions on this. 🙂
Current team for GW29:
Federici (AVL)
Enrique (TOT) / Davies (wba) / Clyne (nor) / Cameron (new)
Michu (wba) / Bale *C* (liv) / Puncheon (nor)
Sturridge (TOT) / Cisse *V* (STO) / Lambert (nor)
Mignolet (qpr) / Mata / Walcott / Demel
Was going to save my FT for next week. Have comfortably enough for Cisse -> RVP next week. However, I'm now also keen on upgrading Sturridge -> Suarez sometime soon. I wouldn't have enough funds to do both, and I'm therefore considering Mata -> Sissoko.
Does it make sense to do that move this week, and bench Cameron, or would it be better to wait a week, go with Cameron and then reconsider whether I should do Mata out?Open Controls-
Tricky... if you have enough for RVP next week, is that part of 2 transfers or is it a straight upgrade? If it's a straight upgrade and you're set on it, can you do Sturridge --> Suarez this week and take a -4 to get RVP (or Rooney) next week?
I think you kept Sturridge for a reason over Suarez and that hasn't changed other than Sturridge being missing last week which has made people nervy. Fact is, Sturridge should start on Sunday.Open Controls-
It would be a straight upgrade - so yes, in theory, would you suggested would work.
You're right though - I think Sturridge should play, so it's better to wait on it, probably.Open Controls-
If Sissoko is tempting you and Puncheon isn't nailed on, how would you feel about:
Puncheon --> Sissoko
Then getting Rooney next week instead of RVP? Keen? Downside is it gives you a benching headache most weeks.Open Controls-
Hmm... Not really, tbh, I'm still set on RVP over Rooney - he's top dog these days. Also still like the idea of a cheap mid, and just hoping Puncheon starts!
Can see why others would be tempted, but it's not for me, thanks for the suggestion though 🙂Open Controls

If owning suarez is your plan for the long term, and I see no reason why it shouldn't be, then go for the mata -> sissoko move this week.
However, I'd hang on until the mist clears regarding the missing fixtures... (and sissoko's game tomorrow)Open Controls-
Interesting, thanks. And yeah, I'd definitely wait until after the Europa games, etc.
Open Controls

I'm sorry for breaking all the promises that I wasn't around to keep.
Open Controls -
Mata to Sissoko
why?Open Controls-
ive been very tempted but not done cos:
wud be for a hit
i want mata back
sisco plays 3 games in short time. could get injuredOpen Controls -
Sissoko plays this week,
has decent fixtures to the end of the season.
Is ON form,
is little or no rotation risk
and leaves a lot of budget to be used to your advantage elsewhere in your team.Open Controls

anyone keeping sturridge? not convinced he will start at weekend.
Open Controls-
Open Controls

still dont think he will start
Open Controls
-
-
yeah
Open Controls -
YES! Why would you take him out after the news that he should be fine for it?
This is not like you HillBillyPete.Open Controls-
i got burned last week thinkin he wud play and then suarez ripping it up. cant afford to have doubts in my team this week. i think suarez will score better.
Open Controls

-
let's wait for press conference closer to the game. If he's training this week, he'll be ok
Open Controls -
so many blanks this week! bigger priorities than selling a player who will probably get some minutes
Open Controls
-
man city game off 100%?
Open Controls -
Afternoon all, been a bit out of touch lately so playing catch up. Currently able to field 8 this gw and am considering doing Mata>Gerrard this week followed by Fellaini>Lampard GW30. Sound strategy or flawed?
Open Controls-
flawed with a capital D
Open Controls-
Care to elaborate? Kind of nervous about doing it, particularly as I only paid 8.9 for Mata
Open Controls-
Mata is a class player and has a DGW (or 2) coming up.
Open Controls-
Can't argue with that I guess. He has served me well this season, the move does seem wrong. Thanks for helping to restore my sanity.....

Rio.. Will he be banned because of this?Open Controls-
Nah, it's only a yellow card offence anyway.. shows a lack of class I'd say though.
Open Controls-
Lack of class - but he was right.

no but this sort of thing would not happen in almost every other sport. Why do football refs cop so much shit from players?
Open Controls-
http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-union/news/12509/8512358/Six-Nations-Italy-s-Sergio-Parisse-will-have-to-sit-out-the-remainder-of-the-tournament
Whilst I think this was an excessive ban, was reduced on appeal, football should take note. Footballers seem to be able to abuse refs without fear of punishment, this is a deterrent alright.Open Controls

Benteke for me, because he's assured starts.
Open Controls-
Should've mentioned that it's purely for one week.
Open Controls-
Ahh... in that case, Lukaku, for me
Open Controls -
Lukaku.
I got Benteke 2 weeks ago and not so sure atm. I would have got Lukaku if he never had the blank v Chelsea.Open Controls-
I did the same mistake.. those 12 points would make for him not playing last GW!
Open Controls

Lukaku. Garry Monk is starting for Swansea.
Open Controls

If you don't have Suarez who do u captain?
Open Controls -
So Cisse injured???Jesus...
Open Controls -

Thanks!
Open Controls -
feck, might ship him instead of Fellaini at this rate
Open Controls

I'm going to keep the power 5.
Remy, Benteke and Lukaku just sound like total bench fodder.Open Controls-
-
That wasn't the point horse.
One of them seems to be the fodder.Open Controls
-
-
Benteke and Lukaku are not bench fodder. Don't have enough information on Remy yet...
Open Controls-
Who would you play before Benteke?
Open Controls-
Depends on the fixture, but Fellaini/Michu, maybe Mata if you think he'll be rested.
Open Controls-
Dunno buudy......Michu ahead of Benteke? Dodge city......
If I were to get any of the 3 it would be Remy. Sandwiched between RVP and Suarez and probably never to featue.Open Controls

Whoa! Roberto Snodgrass jumps to 6th in the updated watchlist! I am so in.
Open Controls-
I don't get the Snodgrass love... I prefer Kamara if he get more game time...
Open Controls-
Kamara's a striker; no room for him. Norwich's fixtures are good pretty much the whole rest of the year, and while he hasn't been great lately, Snodgrass has put up good stats against bad teams, and was very productive earlier in the year.
Open Controls

(c) Suarez ahead of Bale or both equally good choices?
Open Controls -
Got to love UEFA, take months to precisely nothing on racism, but a manager not attending a press conference, that is not on, we need to deal with that within 2 weeks. 🙄
Open Controls -
So, Stoke have scored once away from home in their last six games and Swansea haven't scored in their last four ventures on the road.
Reckon there's a chance a West Brom & Newcastle (Debuchy, NAP) defender will make it into the Scout picks this Friday?Open Controls -
