Having failed to score in each of his last four matches, Theo Walcott has been sold on by significant numbers of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers ahead of the weekend’s deadline. Similar to our other Monitor subject, Juan Mata, Walcott has been mainly sacrificed due to a blank Gameweek 29; over 54,000 have parted company with the Gunners wide man and, as a result, we cast an eye over his key attacking statistics in order to establish just why he has dropped in performance.

Prior to Gameweek 25, Walcott had served up a series of scintillating performances across his previous eight matches. Between Gameweek 17-24, he produced seven goals, five assists and 8 FPL bonus points – with attacking returns in all but one of those matches, a tally of 75 points, or 9.3 points per game (ppg), saw the bandwagon reach breakneck speed as he moved from 8.6 to 9.4 in price. Since then, although he’s managed to maintain his consistency by producing an assist in three of the last four, he has racked up 20 points over that period – dropping down to five ppt from Gameweek 25 onwards.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

You need top four this season to keep Bale as next year is your only shot at the league. It wont come around often as that squad is going to be really difficult to replace, every single player has tonnes of pace.

Spurs look to be a very good side, and if AVB gets the time to build something long term, I wonder what could be achieved?

In all seriousness, aside from a top class striker, what else would Spurs need to mount a title challenge?

I dunno if Lennon NEEDS to be replaced. He's been as good to better than Ashley Young and Valencia this year.

I would say, top striker, Parker back fit, and more depth.

I agree with Camzy. Manchester United have been able to cope without Rooney for long stretches this season, and honestly if they lost RVP, Chicharito could probably hold them over for a couple weeks. If Bale OR Dembele went down, Spurs would be effed.

But the point is, they have been without Rooney and they're going to win the title.

Look at that 5 match stretch where Spurs were without Dembele

              2-4 loss to Chelsea
              2-1 win against Southampton
              1-0 loss to Wigan
              2-1 loss to Manchester City
2-5 loss to Arsenal (Although Adebayor was red carded early)

That's a brutal stretch of results. Throw in the 2-1 loss to Newcastle in the first week of the season (When Dembele was still with Fulham) it and shows how reliant Spurs are on Dembele. Rooney's important to United, but their depth is such that they can cope without him. Spurs can't cope without either of their two best players.

ManUtd can hold the fort with Welbeck and Hernandez.

If they can keep the nucleus of the side together, I think that they can certainly be consistently the 3rd best side in the league. An addition of some more quality, and they might be able to mount a real challenge.

I rate Lennon, he's no Bale, but he has pace, trickery and is a positive attacking player. Not much love for Parker either, I think that his experience and tenacity in midfield could be key for some time yet.

Any help with my next transfer is much appreciated.

    Migs Bunn
    Rafael Clichy Davies Pearce Clyne
    Bale Walcott Mata Michu Guthrie
    Suarez Sturridge Lambert

My concerns centre around owning both Suarez and Sturridge - especially if Liverpool do not score against Spurs but after this game Liverpool have a fairly easy run.

Clichy and Rafael both unavailable, leaves me with Davies, Pearce and Clyne at the back.

Also Mata has looked sluggish recently, with Newcastle's run from now until the end of the season, Sissoko OOP could be profitable.

There's nothing stopping me pulling the trigger on Fellaini > Sissoko now that the game's out of the way, right?

No rumours of knocks or anything?

According to TotalFPL, he won't drop tonight. I am personally waiting for any news tomorrow. Couldn't be bothered worrying about 0.1.

I've been itching to do it since I made the decision! You're right that £0.1m isn't worth the risk

Villa are poor (no offence), fixtures aren't great. Lukaku much better player and 0.5 cheaper, only risk is rotation.

Should I do Mata ---> Sissoko or Snoddy tonight with my free transfer, Mata could fall again.

Mata will most likely fall so doing it tonight makes sense.

      Sissoko for me.

I think, after Everton, Spurs are tied with Swansea as my favourite Premiership team. I really like AVB - always said he got treated terribly at Chelsea (as do all managers), and his enthusiasm for the game really shines through. Obviously a top top manager (as his record at Porto showed). And when Spurs get going, they're a joy to watch; just a couple of players - primarily a striker - away from being a top 2 side imo.

Adebayor is a bit like Ibra, he is in a team with lots of pace but slows down the play !
      Benteke at spurs ?

If he is, then he's a very very very poor man's Ibra.

Benteke still hasn't convinced me, not sure why. I'd possibly be thinking Lukaku (if targets like Cavani are too optimistic).

          hahaha
lukaku would be good but chelsea is not that dumb and they not they have a future droba !
in that case, maybe their long term search for Damiao would be good or Higuain

For me Swansea are the best club in the Premier League this season. Not many funds, players with little or no reputation , playing fantastic football and League Cup winners. it's easy to go high in the league when you've loadsamoney.

I don't buy the arguement that some have that it's down to Martinez or it's down to Rodgers. It's Laudrup's team. He signed Chico, De Guzman and the incomparable Michu. No player has had a better opening season in the Premier League than him. Laudrup has brought them to a new level. I hope they can keep him and keep the squad together and add to it cos Europa League will suit their style.

I'm not sure, it is a gamble. United are in such a commanding position that they may want Evans to get as much experience possible, because let's face it, Ferdinand doesn't have long left. I'm torn, might just get Evra. http://i.imgur.com/EmQm18r.gif
