The unusual rumble you hear is the sound of a Stewart Downing bandwagon – last seen or heard circa 2010/11, when the winger racked up 167 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points in his final season at Aston Villa. Having provided just two assists over the entire previous campaign, Downing was written off as a Fantasy force this time round. After an uninspiring start, he has now produced attacking returns in each of his last three for Liverpool and has already received over 10,000 transfers in prior to this weekend’s trip to Southampton. In this latest article for members, we assess the statistics to see just why:

Pretty dull Champions League Draw for the 1/4 finals. Aside from Juve vs Bayern, the ties are pretty straightforward. Would've loved to see Dortmund vs Barca 😀

Dortmund v Barca would have been magic. Can't see Dortmund & Real not getting thorugh, Barca could find PSG tricky, Bayern v Juve is very tough to call

Nice podcast guys, congrats on reaching the 100 mark. 🙂

With regard to the luck factor, and many of those who started well being up there now. If you think about it, this is merely a numbers game. Logically only those that have picked the correct moves will still be up there.

There are literally millions of players and by sheer weight of numbers eventually come the end the players in the top echelons will be the players who have played as close as possible to the perfect team, ie their substitutions will work out, the ones who’s substitutions didn’t will fall by the wayside.

Ie 2 players could start the same team gwk1 and make the same moves until gwk 19 say and then eventually 1 will diverge and make a poor move relative to the other. This is clearly an over simplification, but the principle is sound.

I probably haven’t explained this very well, but hopefully someone will understand 🙂

HBA and Sissoko haven't played together in the PL, and he's done pretty well so far!

I'd get rid of Michu, tough fixtures and a blank to come soon.

no chance of Siss dropping deeper to cover Cabaye? I worry that that loss might affect his returns

He won't play deeper, it'll be Anita and Tiote in the double pivot with Perch as back up.

Even last night when we were playing more of a 4321, Jonas played in Cabaye's role with Sissoko further forward.

That said, we'll miss Cabaye's creativity so he could lose out on service, it'll be a massive blow for us if he's out again.

would you still start him this week?

If I get Lamps I'll have to bench him or Remy, if not him or Snodgrass

I'd definitely play him over Snodgrass.

Wouldn't really want to bench Sissoko or Remy, but then again Lampard should score well this week. With Chelsea's rotation and fixture pile-up he might not be worth it longer term though.

who is everyone seeing as the best cheap mid for the run in? only going to be used as bench fodder but with the rotation worries would like guarenteed starts...

Options im thinking of are Maloney or Townsend? any others?

Maloney'll score more points imo, but could cause a bit of a benching issue, think I'd get frustrated having him on the bench every week as I'm backing him and Wigan to finish well as always.

If it's bench fodder, maybe saving the extra 0.5 is the way to go.

Maloney makes a lot of sense. DGW potential, on pens, and Wigan traditionally start giving a shit around this time of year

Trying to plan ahead a bit, is anyone actually getting any Everton players for the DGW? Other than Baines(too expensive) and Fellaini(probably suspension) i can't see anyone worth getting.

      Don't think I am.

Was going to get Fellaini but with 9 yellows and a lack of form I've decided to get Caz instead and double up on Arsenal midfield,

Mirallas maybe. I'd like Baines but probably won't bother seeing as the fixtures aren't amazing and they don't keep many sheets

ok I’ll ask once more. Since I have no Chelsea cover atm. Given their fixture pile up maybe it's a good thing?

    a) Play Remy and Siss and bench Snod

    b) Sell Snod to Lamps and bench Remy/Siss?

bringing wilson in as a makeweight costs -4 but rafael necessitates a -8. have i got this right? if so, u have to ship someone else. slap me if i'm wrong but this is slightly confusing. thing is... out of all defenders i'd vote rafael as the likeliest to recoup hittery

Team with .8 ITB and 1 FT

    Bego (Guzan)
    Hill Davies Cameron (Demel Harte)
    Walcott Michu Mata Bale (Sissoko)
    Fletcher Sturridge Suarez

So many jumbled ideas, but the gist is to start planning for DGW 33 by getting in Man U./Arsenal players (other than Pienaar, I don't think I like any West Ham/Everton players through the DGW):

    Michu/Fletcher > Rooney/4.3 Mid for -4
    Michu/Sturridge > Rooney/Townsend for -4

Cameron > Mertesacker or Jenkinson for a FT (saving the extra money with the latter to upgrade the attack in future GWs)
    Michu/Cameron > Santi Cazorla/Jenkinson

Any of these tickle your fancy?
