The Premier League have this afternoon rearranged Fulham’s home game with Chelsea, which was initially set to take place on Sunday March 10, to Wednesday April 17 – or Gameweek 33 to you and I. At present, this gives both clubs a pair of fixtures that week, with Fulham travelling to Villa and Chelsea entertaining Tottenham at the Bridge beforehand.

This news comes with a caveat, though. If Chelsea beat United in their FA Cup Sixth Round replay on Monday April 1, their Gameweek 33 clash with Spurs will be postponed due to Semi-Final commitments and will require a new date – this would leave the Blues with just one fixture in Gameweek 33, while Spurs would face a blank. The Spurs match would need to be moved to a new Gameweek as this was initially scheduled for the weekend. Bottom line is Fulham now have a double Gameweek 33 regardless, though.

As the fixtures fall into place, the Cottagers are currently one of four clubs that will definitely face a pair of matches in Gameweeks 33, with Arsenal, Everton and West Ham also playing twice. The loser of the Chelsea – United replay will also face a double, though if United win at Stamford Bridge their trip to Stoke – scheduled for Gameweek 33 weekend – will be cancelled, leaving the Potters without a fixture that week, as United travel to West Ham in midweek.

In other words:

If Chelsea win the replay, United have a DGW33 and Spurs have a blank GW33.
If United win the replay, Chelsea have a DGW33 and Stoke have a blank GW33.

With both Swansea and West Brom both facing blanks in Gameweek 33, our planning just got that little more intricate as we attempt to deal with the FA Cup fixture fall-out. Thankfully, the situation will be afforded a little more clarity come April Fools Day.

Yes, there are non-DGWers who have nice fixtures GW33, such as Liverpool, Villa, City, but look at the week after for these teams. For me, if I keep my front three of Suarez/Sturridge (CHE) and Benteke (united), my GW34 team will suffer. It's reasonable to suggest that one of my front three will have to go but for who?

That is very much impossible. Only one of those two with Rooney a whole lot more likely. Sad as it may be, I kinda hope that Suarez just gets suspended next game to seal the deal.

All 3 out for Berbatov, Giroud and Rooney (if Utd DGW is confirmed)

Problem is that I will already have 2 Arsenal attackers so Giroud is out. I feel like Benteke has more to play for than a mid-table team like Berba so I don't want to make that direct switch. Maybe I can switch Berba and Rooney for my pool attackers. Or a straight switch for one of the two most likely.

I agree on avoiding Berba because Fulham are mid table with nothing to play for. I feel Giroud may be a better DGW option.
So, disregard my advice above 😉

So on the matter of a midtable team with not much to play for, how does that impact Riether? Perhaps what we have already seen is more to come with more attacking intent because as a team, conceding goals isn't as big of a deal any more. This could have more to do with stats, reputation, and just the fact that playing more advanced is just more fun.

Is Riether's present offensive production sustainable though? I'm not sure. I still anticipate some more offensive points with maybe less clean sheets because Fulham's schedule after the double is only good, not great.

Nice post. My thoughts are this ; the confirmation of the Fulham DGW changes my plans very little. Precisely because they are mid-table with nothing to play for. I'm still going to concentrate my transfers this week on Arsenal, because they are confirmed DGWers but are also concentrating on CL qual.
The following week I will see what way the land lies with Chelsea or United.

3 cleansheets in 4 for the defence and 3 goals in 3 for berbatov. Nothing to play for does not necessarily mean they will suddenly forget how to play the game. Also, 'nothing to play for' *might* even work positively as they have no pressure to preform. I reckon you are outguessing yourself.

            oh 😳
But that is still pointless. Ideally you would want a total for your comments (i.e. your comments plus your replies to others) and a total of replies you have received (or at least an average replies received per post)

And that ratio would give a good picture of someones 'importance' in the community.

So after 6 years in Australia taken the plunge and entered an Australian rules dream team. On the plus side its helped keep my finger off the fpl transfer button in slow international week. On the downside I really don't know what I am doing
Fpl transferable skill #1: find a website where people know what they are doing and and get some good advice
Any other Aussies out there bother with this one?

Cheers Eagles (and apologies to those who could not give a $#$%!). I've copied a pretty template team at the moment based on a variety of "expert" sources. How important are fixtures, I feel Sydney have great early fixtures but seem to be under-represented in the template. Should I load up or stick with players likely to perform over the whole season

Unlike FPL fixtures mean very very little, I wouldn't even look at them most the time. The big guns usually fire better scores against the better sides in away games. Make sure you get some good cheap rookies as they can increase in value quickly and become good trade material later. As there is a limit to trades stick with it for a few weeks and hold the trigger steady!

Ablett yes, I'd rather Pendlebury than Swan and Josh Kennedy isn't too bad. Also look at Andrew Swallow and Trent Cotchin. Backline Heppell and Goddard, forward line Zorko and Rockliff, maybe Roughead and Bartel

with zorko / rockliff, i have rockliff already, i may be letting flp dictate again but feel uncomfortable doubling up on brisbane forwards. Is doubling up even an issue in this game? And do you think people are getting a bit carried away with brisbane pre-season or are they both that good?

Zorko and Rocky are high ball winners and use it well, they play all across the ground also are essentially OOP. Praps get one in midfield and one in the forward line, although most ppl will use them in the forward line as they are dual position players. Karnezis from Brisbane is also a must have, soooo cheap

    greetings, everyone.

    1) Wigan DGW = confirmed in GW36 or any chance to be rescheduled earlier?

    2) Mata > Santi, is it a sensible move? who do you reckon will play more in the WCQ? Santi may explode against Reading, but Mata can't be That tired and i think he's due.

SHN at home is good and Hazard may share Mata's points. Agree on Mata -> Santi, bring in Mata for GW33 in case there is a DGW for Chelsea though

SHN = soton? yeah, they're pretty good at home and lambert proves that he can score against anyone, especially with his set-piece duty. If i do Mata > santi this week, i don't think i'l have enough to bring back a Chelsea attacker.

The problem with Mata is CHE play four games in the space of eight days and he faces a huge rotation risk. I think the sensible thing to do would be waiting for the international games to be over before submitting the Mata ➡ Cazorla move.

that's the real worry. CHE will play United a couple of days after the Soton clash, i think there'll be a big chance Mata will be rested as Rafa is well-known for his Cup affection. My biggest fear is that he'll start at St Mary's and punish people who 'betray' him, and Santi go quiet against Reading 😉

If any, between Hazard and Mata, who is more likely to be rested? I think the best choice would be going for whoever looks to earn the most game time with anticipation. As for Santi, if he fails to deliver against RDG, we might just take some comfort on the fact that he's still got DGW to come.

Assuming CHE lose the FA Cup replay and you're looking to bring in a CHE midfielder for the DGW regardless if you have a WC or not, would you rather Juan Mata or Eden Hazard - between these two?

The thing about Mata is he has only contributed an assist in the last four games and this has got us into pondering whether Hazard would be a better choice. Whilst Hazard looks to have gotten back the form he needs. I would have liked to have Hazard than Mata for explosive points.

Mata is class and i have him almost all season, but i think Hazard is on form, more explosive and he has a bit selfishness in his play that i think will bring good to his FPL owners. i'd go for Hazard for now.

+1 This. As a WC and Mata owner, I am seriously considering a swap for Hazard instead for the remainder of the season. The question now is, who will earn more minutes in the next four games and then invest reasonably.

minutes are the real issue. fatigue and Rafatation will only compound that problem.

as for me, i have a choice to do direct mata > santi, or do afro > santi & JE > jenkinson for a hit. if i do the latter one, i can do mata > hazard in the DGW if i need to. hopefully things will be clearer to me after the internationals.

It might be in gw 33 if Fabi is still playing for Ars and if United beat Chel in the FA cup replay...as then the Stoke/ManU fix falls away and like me you prob won't have a keeper.

        Pleasure.

Good point. I didn't notice Nani in the team at first glance anyway, so get rid of Nani instead.

Mata might be rested or even not feature if Chelsea win in FA cup

Mata to Carzola is a good transfer keeping in mind the DGW for ARS.

          "might"

Rotation galore with Chel...Haz/Lamps might be better options....Santi has a def DGW...and better fixtures with no rotation.

Yeah tried to replace Nani asap but did other transfers first. But good point, I might want mata back if CHE has a dgw, so I think I will do this:
Mata > Caz and if CHE dgw is confirmed, Nani > Hazard/Lamps.
                Thanks guys.

I can but Sturridge fitness issue is creating doubts of his playing time.

Do have Suarez and enough coverage of Pool vs Villa game is what my thinking is

Tina i did get Rooney and captained him last week.

Baines and Berba in for me for this week for Harte and Sturridge for -4 pt hit.

My GW 33 team would be

      Jask
      Demel, Baines, Jenkinson/ Sagna
      Walcott, Santi, Fellani, Sisoko
      Rooney, Berba, Suarez

Subs : Bunn, Bale, R martin, Naughton

Hows that looking - 8 players featuring DGW. Could be 9 if Chelsea beat United in FA cup replay.

Rooney(c) last week would have been perfect. Then I could have done Michu->Santi this week for free. Aargggh!

It seems I've missed some rule changes with the ICC debacle. I'm not so sure I'm up with this nonsense anymore.

I can't be bothered reading all of the rules. That's why I always give these Uefa and other competitions a miss.

        It distracts me to much.

I still sleep better at night with RVP in my team. He will come good and Rooney is fat.

Mata > Santi for free regardless. Ditch Michu for Fellatio in 33..

          I'll post my plans below.

Since its so quiet I'll post my DGW plan/transfers.

    Current team:

    Bego, Bunn(!)
    GJ, Davies, Martin, Demel, Harte(!)
    Bale, Mata, Walcott, Michu, Schneiderlin
    RVP, Suarez, Benteke

    GW31: Mata > Santi
    GW32: save
GW33: GJ, Michu, Benteke > Baines, Fellaini, Berba (-4)

Gives me 6/7 DGW players for only 1 hit.

    Some questions for you guys.

If similar price, would you prefer Kone or Giroud?
I plan to have Wally and Caz for GW33. WGA also has a DGW in gw36, and their fixtures are great. So better off with Kone?
Also, how nailed on is Robles?

In a week where Trapattoni dumps Kevin Doyle, a great servant to Irish football, from the squad by text it's more than depressing. Has many decent players at his disposal but would prefer to play let the Swedes try and break us down puke football and settle for a point and almost certainly lose rather than show some attacking intent. We're fkd in the group anyway so nothing to lose with McCarthy and Hoolohan in CM.
