Down to the last 16 in the Scout Members cup, then, and there are plenty of big hitters still in with a shout of the silverware. Seven of the current top 1,000 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game have progressed to this point – two of those players go head-to-head, as Stewpot squares up to Eunuch Jelly, while Avenger, drakesdrum, fodowd, sbg and mcginley50 will be favourites to progress in their respective ties. The latter is the highest ranked player left in the tournament (155th overall), while former winner fuzzy dunlop will be hoping to capture the cup once again:

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

"The Premier League dubious goals panel have confirmed that the winner against Reading in our last outing on 16 March will remain credited to Wayne Rooney" Manutd.com

Not sure when this was confirmed but it was only just posted on the United website 20 minutes ago. Does this dubious goals panel affect FPL? I seem to recall they do...that could have led to a lot of annoyed Rooney owners. Only a goal to an assist but would probably have lost bonus too.

It was only confirmed earlier today doesn't effect FPL at all if the dubious goals panel changes the scorer. It normally takes them a while and FPL rules state that once the next deadline is reached then points are locked in.

I haven't really thought about FPL and my team at all for the last week but I think it's time I got down to business.

    Mig (Fed)

Zaba - Davies - Demel (Turner, Cameron)

Bale - Sissoko - Michu - Maloney (Walcott)

    RVP - Suarez (c) - Lambert

1 FT, 1.1 in the bank, WC still available.

Walcott ➡ Cazorla is the stand-out transfer for me atm but still unsure as to what to do. 😕

    Opinions?

Well I've considered the very same transfer, but I concluded that wasting a precious transfer selling Walcott this week, only to waste another one to get him back for the DGW, isn't a great idea. So I'll be benching Walcott this week.

      Maybe Sissoko --> 7.? midfielder

Or maybe hold onto the FT in case of a Suarez YC - would allow you to do Davies + Suarez --> Sagna/Mert + Sturridge... and use the leftover cash as Sissoko --> Silva/Caz

      Just an option

Guys I fear I could really be struggling this week with the following players a significant risk to rotation / out of favour / suspended / injured:

    de Gea
    Bunn
    Rafael
    Cameron
    Walcott
    Taarabt
    RVP
    Mata

in addition I have 2 players who I really don't want to play in Pearce & Clyne

thought I had my transfers planned and under control but really fearing the worst for this week and going forward.

help would be much appreciated. out of the above, who are worth getting rid of and for who?

had planned doing Taarabt & Lukaku > Caz & Anichebe but really feel my defence needs work. the only defender i am confident on in playing is Enrique, although i do feel with no internationals that Rafael will also play both games.

other squad players are Enrique Bale Sissoko Sturridge Lukaku.

    thanks

    DDG (sun)
Clichy (NEW) GJ (avl) Samba (ful)
Santi (RDG) Walcott* (RDG) Mata (sou)
Aguero* (NEW) Remy (ful) Sturridge (avl)

    Subs: Bunn* Sissoko, Wilson, Davies

Really wanna play 4-3-3 rather than Sissoko come in, but which defender to move up.. surely Wilson since Everton have no Fellaini/Pienaar?

Would love to see a feature that shows a player's ownership within your own mini-league. I know rank is highly valued round these parts, but all I care about is winning my mini-league!

Surely winning your mini-league is a result of rank.
Worrying about other peoples players and blocking and such is a bad way to win.
      Nice rank btw 🙂

Or, unless your mini league has over 100 people in it, which I doubt, you could just click on everyone's team and work it out for yourself in about 3 minutes!

Would it be madness to put Aguero as captain this week? Home to Newcastle.

Or is Santi the way to go? The new manager effect is throwing me off 😕

Hey BS, good to see you around. See we're on the same team in New Zealand, we're gonna storm it :D!

I'll probably go Suarez, his away record is great, particularly against the weaker teams. Aguero's not a terrible shout, but still with no semblance of any real club form I wouldn't risk putting the armband on him.

I wouldn't....I would rather be one week late to the party with Aguero than several weeks too early! Santi is the 'safe' pick this week but the right one as well. Adkins can't work miracles with that defence overnight!

Not madness, but Aguero has done nothing of late to warrant picking him.

    Afternoon chaps,

In a bit of a pickle as to what to do with my freebie...

    Bego - Bunn

    Rafael - Debuchy - B.Jones - Demel - Shaw

    Bale - Mata - Walcott - Snod - Taarabt

    Rooney - Studge - Lambert

Was all set on Jones > Mertesacker but Wally being a doubt means my 5th mid is Taarabt, who prob won't play.

Is Taarabt > Maloney the wise move here?

    DDG (sun)
Demel (WBA) Turner (wig) Davies (TOT)
Walcott (RDG [doubt]) Mata (sot - rotation risk) Michu (TOT) Bale (swa)
Benteke (LIV) RVP (sun) Lambert (CHE)

Subs: Federici (ars [injured]) Sissoko (mnc) Cameron (eve) Mariappa (ars)

I've got 1 FT, and WC still intact.

    A) Berbatov in for Benteke
    B) Riether in for Cameron
    C) Santi Cazorla in for Walcott - & wait for Walcott news? Or now? Santi will rise soon.
    D) Santi Cazorla in for Mata - & wait for Walcott news? Or now? Santi will rise tonight.

    And should I:
    1) Use WC in DGW 33
    2) Get in as many DGWer's for DGW33, then hold onto WC for potential Spurs, Chelsea, City, United, Wigan, Swansea double.

as a serious enough footballer a groin strain means it would be hard for him to train, if he hasnt trained for reading game he wont be selected. also the fact that its reading means Wenger is certain to rest him, especially if he thinks Forehead can do a job

Thanks chaps! So seems I should wait until Friday to be safe? That would cost me 0.1 extra on Santi, although I've got 1 mil in the bank, so 0.1 is prob worth the wait. If Walcott is fit do you think it's worth bringing in Santi for Mata? Also have Bale who's also not 100% fit. Obviously Mata could get a double. Although, I'm a United fan, and I see Chelsea taking the replay.
