A goal in each of the last couple of Gameweeks has brought Andros Townsend onto Fantasy radars over the international break. Since arriving on loan at Loftus Road, the winger seems to have firmly established himself as a key member of Harry Redknapp’s first-team – starting five of the last six matches, he has also chipped in with a pair of assists and received six bonus points in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, averaging 6.6 points per game. In this latest article for members, we take a look at the underlying Opta statistics to see how he’s been performing and examine whether he really is a viable target for the fifth midfield slot in our squads.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

      Righto then:

      a) Lambert > Berbatov
      b) Walcott > Santi (if Walcott injured)
      c) Snodgrass / Sissoko > Santi

Get this right and accolades will rain down on you for the rest of the season.

Get it wrong, however, and ... well let's just say bad things will happen to your test eagles

ok I'll bite. Wanna bring in Cazorla this week for Reading because Walc injury and no other Arsenal coverage. Plan is to upgrade Sessegnon to Caz, but no funds. 0.0 in bank.

      Front 8 atm is:

      Mata/Walc/Bale/Sessegnon/Sissoko

      RVP/Suarez/Benteke

I'm proposing Benteke + Sessegnon to Anichebe + Caz. DGW guaranteed cover + Captain choice FOR -4.

There have been suggested alternatives, you let me know what you think of them 🙂

      1) Sessegnon + Suarez to Berba + Cazorla.
      2) Sessegnon to Osman
      3) Sessegnon + Sissoko to 4.2 (bench warmer) + Cazorla
      4) Mata to Cazorla
      5) Walcott to Cazorla.

THanks for your time Supergreat 😀

why did he miss norwich? i never bought anichebe. never trusted his starts. if you have reason to suspect he'll play both in dgw then yeah. otherwise i'd love to take a punt on jenas. i'm almost definitely goin remy. but i don't watch much football. maybe check motd on jenas

OK Point taken. I'm actually leaning towards Jenas at the moment, he operated primarily in CM for QPR (in his first 90 minute game for QPR anyway), whilst Townsend operated on the right flank mainly.

Jenas also took 2 shots in the box compared to Townsend who took everything outside, so you could somewhat argue that Jenas is the most "advanced" of the midfielders.

The only drawback is the lack of DGW players, as you've mentioned yea. Gotta rethink my squad a bit especially if I bring Caz in, I'll have Wally + Caz for Ars cover, no one in Everton so far (unless I ship Mata or Bale for Fellaini pre-GW33).

Thanks again for the input, really appreciated 😀

    DDG

    Zabaleta Samba Demel

    Bale Michu Sissoko Walcott?

    Rvp Suarez Berbatov

    Fed/ Davies Harte Guthrie

Unlucky Unreal, that sucks... there was a time a few years ago when I really thought we had turned the corner, we had so much young experienced talent... but somehow it just went to shit...

And now we have to start all over again... cos we're just way off the standard needed to compete, with even the weakest of teams...

No offense to any Welsh fans, but we should be beating those guys comfortably...

Hope this doesn't get lost on the bottom of the page. In honor of NCAA March Madness here, would like to try something different in addition to our weekly Deadzone Drafts.

    FPL Bracketology GW 33-38

The draft follows same usual rules:
Each owner picks 4 players for no more than 25m, at least one each Def/Mid/Fwd. single ownership, once the player is picked nobody else can draft him as well.

As soon as we get 16 teams in this thread, I will set up brackets in which all 64 of our selected players will face off in an NCAA style tournament. I will make sure to seed them in order by FPL points, and put each of our players in four regions so we don't have our own players go up against each other. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, think of a tennis tournament's draw.

Scoring will be simple -- whichever player scores higher advances to the next round/GW and plays. Blanks, benchings, DGWs, all should factor into your decisions. In case of a tie, the higher ranked (FPL points) player will advance.

As we normally don't get 16 players in a typical weekly DZ draft, this might take awhile, so I wanted to spread the word and get any feedback now. We could pick the teams one of the next few nights.

I will do it like a typical Deadzone Draft that we've been running for the last six or so gws and announce it tomorrow or Thursday night and then let the drafting begin. Since you are in you can pick then or whenever you get to the post. I will save your spot but you might be sifting through the bargain bin if you are not on right away.

    Begovic--Cerny

    Walcott--Michu--Sissoko--Mata--Bale

Hey CF, it's been a while...

Tbh I'm still unsure who Fergie is planning to rest for this next game... it has been mentioned that he might rotate heavily in the next two games... some going as far to say that he will use two entirely different teams for each game...

I have no idea, but I will be playing Rooney and hoping he plays in the League first and foremost...

Something else that might factor into it is that the FA match could go 120 minutes, so maybe Rooney or RVP comes in around 60 after having played heavily on Saturday. Massive rationalization of an uncomfortable RVP owner.

Hey CF, I find it hard to imagine Fergie wanting to rest RVP against Chelsea. Surely they blew the original FA cup game so he'll want to put it right in the replay?

Rooney and RVP are a big worry for this weekend but I reckon one of them will start. My money is on Rooney personally. But that's because I own him 😉

Yeah the only argument I have with this as a Rooney owner, is that Fergie will realise he (Rooney) is the form player right now, and if he sees the Cup game as the more important game, then he could protect his form player for it...

Unlikely, but could happen... I just hope he sticks by his words when he says that Rooney needs games to be fit...

It's very hard to call really. I reckon both Rooney and RVP will play against Chelsea and one of them will be benched maybe for the Sunderland game. I just think it's easier to imagine RVP sitting it out than Rooney. But anything could happen, they could both be benched!

as an owner, i feel happy and safe to have him in my team. on form, chasing the Golden Boot, the main striker (well that is debatable) and out of the UCL already. i know he may be rested this weekend, but i don't think he needs full 90 minutes to impress me or to bring me good points i think he's due a big haul.

Romney had a tougher game on a heavier pitch last night with more travel. RVP easier game on a better pitch and less travel.

I reckon decisions will be fine margins this weekend:

      Chelsea - Rooney & Hernandez

It looks like TW, Zep, Waitikere, Canadian Football, No Association, Messimerized, maybe Laernu, me, hopefully Pepin are in for the DZ March Madness Bracket Draft so far, which means we are well on our way. If others post interest I will slot them as long as we have room, but the above owners are definitely in.

I will post the draft call with tomorrow or Thursday and we will pick our players then. Not sure what my nights will be like so I am a bit noncommittal.

Waitakere, saw the picks but let's wait until the draft call one of the nights this week. Laernu, let me know if you are in. Good night guys. This should be fun.

8pt hit when you still have a wc? guess it could be worth it in the long run

no worries. unfortunately we've filled the squad within the last 24 hours though :(. wasn't sure if i'd hear back from you or not and didn't want to keep others playing.

mata/theo/rooney for me. think i'll probably keep them all and hope they start and score. givenn the limited number of transfers we have left I think it doesn't make sense to lose them unless we hear walcott will be out for an extended amount of time. might change my mind though

I reckon so, and no, mainly because Cuellar has no blank coming up.

Cuellar if you must although both these superubers need to be in your back 5 imo.

    arghh... .2 short of cueller/davies + sissoko + studge > jenk + caz + berba

guess i'll have to hope for a couple favorable price changes over the next two weeks, or hope that suarez picks up a yc
