A goal in each of the last couple of Gameweeks has brought Andros Townsend onto Fantasy radars over the international break. Since arriving on loan at Loftus Road, the winger seems to have firmly established himself as a key member of Harry Redknapp’s first-team – starting five of the last six matches, he has also chipped in with a pair of assists and received six bonus points in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, averaging 6.6 points per game. In this latest article for members, we take a look at the underlying Opta statistics to see how he’s been performing and examine whether he really is a viable target for the fifth midfield slot in our squads.

So who is everyone (c)aptaining this weekend?
Open Controls-
Suarez

Hello there. How are preps for Finals coming along? Capping Suarez atm, will cap Caz if I bring him in this week

Meh, lots of distractions and such... hate the last week of school.

Open Controls

I see. I'm not sure why but I'm thinking of bringing in and captaining Maloney 😯
Probably a bad idea though. Gotta focus on the DGW.Open Controls
-
-

Walcott, Cazorla or Bale. I've not decided yet.
Open Controls
-
-
Afternoon lads.
Chances of FlappyHandski keeping his spot until the DGW?Open Controls-
Depends how he performs up until then, imo.
Open Controls-
-
Again, depends on Sagna's fitness and how he plays. Arsene has a man crush on Sagna for some reason
Open Controls-
-
Depends on when you need him for. If you only need him for this week, I'd say go for it. If it's long term, you may need to reconsider.
Open Controls-
it'd be some of both. i'd hope he'd at least play in the dgw though. else it might be best to hold off and get fab in for bunn instead
Open Controls-
Both are at risk of losing their spots. I'd focus more on your front 8, unless you can't field XI
Open Controls-
Would be, but depends if you're willing to risk it. I'd personally invest in Ars attack over our defence..
Open Controls -
My suggestion is no. Jelavic showing specs of last season's form with that late goal vs City. Nowhere near a certain starter.
Open Controls -
My logic is you want a 3rd striker that plays 90 mins consistently. Anichebe won't get that. I'm looking at Berbatov personally.
Open Controls -
That late goal against City that was a massive counter, with him only scoring because of a huge deflection...
right.Open Controls -
Speaking of 90 minutes, would you consider Jermaine Jenas then? (Can't get Townsend due to financial constraints, Jenas is a touch lower at 4.2). His stats were actually better than Townsend's (in fact it was as good as Remy's). We can discuss this quicker on TFPL if you want, I'm there already
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
-
-
Hmmm...considering Tremmel –> FlappyHandski this week...
😕Open Controls
-
-
I'd wait until nearer the time. Obviously less than £5m for a player whose team has a DGW with two home games is very tempting, but if you bring in Fabianski/Jenkinson and they lose their spot, you're back to square one and will have to take a hit.
I'm waiting until GW33 to make a decision on Szczesney. I may do a double swap, including Juusi/Schwarzer/DDG and Jenkinson/Sagna. Hopefully I won't have to.Open Controls
-
-
best gk 4.0 or less? yes I know it's slim pickings but who looks the best bet?
Open Controls-
Elliot or Camp, but neither will keep their spot.
Open Controls-
elliot will keep his spot longer though yeah?
what about robles or taylor?Open Controls-
No idea who they are.
Not sure on the status of Krul's injury.Open Controls

would I be crazy to save my ft this week? besides bunn > fab or cueller/davies > jenk, nothing is really jumping out at meOpen Controls-

Don't waste your transfer on a backup GK...
Open Controls
-
-
Think you're ok (for this week). The very worst thing that could happen to you is that Walcott doesn't play, mata is rested and both your defenders come on, which isn't the worst thing in the world. I'd save. You don't have THAT much more downside while the upsides are still quite huge 🙂 Good luck
Open Controls -
Saving transfers at this stage of the season can be gold, especially if you haver no pressing transfers to be made!
What about Marv? Will he play? if not, Marv > a Fulham mid or even Osman might not be a bad punt considering you have Wally, Mata and Rooney as doubts to play.Open Controls

So Rooney & Welbeck played 90 mins.
RVP 85 mins.
Who partners Hernandez upfront? Giggs in the number 10 role?Open Controls-
I want to know too.
Open Controls -
Trying to second guess a notorious liar like Fergie is an exercise in futility.
I still think both Rooney and RVP will start.Open Controls-
I'm not sure they will, Snake Juice, not with the league already sewn up and a cup semi final against Chelsea just two days later.
Giggsy and Welbeck for the Sunderland game looks more realistic to me. Anyone's guess though.Open Controls-
Giggs as a no. 10?
Btw, you think Kagawa will start?Open Controls
-
-
-
It's anyone's guess.
Fergie says he'll play his freshest players on Saturday but I doubt that will be his main team selection. In reality, he'll just pick his team for Chelsea on Monday, then play whoever isn't in it.Open Controls -
This is the problem with Utd attackers. They've all played over the International break.
Welbeck and Hernandez have played the least I think. Its feasible that those 2 start the Sunderland game and Rooney and RVP play in the cup.
But, in all honesty, its pointless trying to second guess what Sir Alex is going to do.
I just have a feeling that I will have an in-form-again RVP inactive for the early Saturday kick off!Open Controls-
Hernandez loves scoring against Chelski. He will play against them.
Open Controls-
I hope so, I need RVP to play on Saturday. RVP likes early kick offs.
Sadly though, I'm not sure Sir Alex works on those principles...... 🙁Open Controls-
Hernandez will definitely play against Chelsea. SAF always starts him due to his amazing record against them and he has had a long flight.
It'll be between Welbeck, RVP & Rooney for Sunderland.
As it's pointed out above, it's always difficult trying to predict what Fergie will do but my guess is RVP & Welbeck.
RVP because we could do with him continuing this return to form and Welbeck because SAF always seems to pick players against their old team (albeit a stint on loan).Open Controls

Press seem to be over-doing the England reaction - away draw at the group leaders with the home match still to come. Decent result imo.
Open Controls-
Which papers though? Tabloids sensationalise everything.
I think it's the contrast between the first and second hsalf performances that has many disappointed.Open Controls -
disagree... the fact they are league leaders just confirms how shite we are...
Open Controls-
+1. You guys suck the bag.
Open Controls -
Don't be silly. 1-1 draw was a fair reflection on the match. As Jimski said there is still the return leg at Wembley to come and both sides play Poland again.
The Wembley game against Montenegro will pretty much decide the group I think.
Remember, other than San Marino, Faroe Islands and Luxembourg there are few easy games in Europe.Open Controls-
I am not saying it wasn't a fair reflection... but any other top nation would beat them the majority of the time... The fact we didn't to me says we are frankly "pants" and have not been a top nation since Terry or dare I say it Glenn were coaches
I still support England but am completely disillusioned by themOpen Controls-
I think you are underestimating Montenegro.
I think most top nations would struggle to beat them on the road and a few would lose to them.
San Marino they ain't.Open Controls-
Just about to log off and saw this...
I apologise for not reading your response in advance but will log in later to see what you say...
My point is; if we can't beat Montenegro, then frankly we don't deserve to go the world cup... I am not underestimating them but they are not Spain, Brazil, France Argentina or Italy... and England SHOULD be beating teams like this... It is not our right to I realise but considering all the money pumped into our game.. We should be embarrassed by the current performances...Open Controls-
Crazy logic. Spain drew at home to Finland - guess they don't deserve to go to the WC either. European football is a tight, close affair in general. Percentage-wise, England tend to be good enough to qualify on most occasions. That's all that is required.

Open Controls -
What would you do with this front 8,1FT,0.1m
Mata | bale | Wally | Townsend | Sissoko
RVP | Suarez | Lambert
A) RVP + Townsend >> Berbatov + Caz
B) Lambert>>Berbatov
C) Mata>>Caz
D)Other??
Cheers lads.Open Controls-
Similar to me, just below. I think i would save or do A
Open Controls-
What is your team value?
Your team is very similar:
Bego (bunn)
Davies | Raph | Zab | R.Martin | Clyne
Are you chasing or leading? If leading would say save,I am too far ahead that a hit wouldn't matter, maybe give me a chance to crack the 1k ceiling.Open Controls

B
Open Controls

Bego (bunn)
Baines davies azp (harte, mariappa)
Bale mata maloney sissoko (walcott)
Lambert rvp suarez
I have 0 in the bank and 1 Ft, therefore I can only downgrade or take a hit somewhere.
Not sure what to do maybe just save for next week?Open Controls-

Also looking at cazorla.. Would have to sell mata though and I fancy him to get minutes on the weekend as he didnt play for spain

who to start and who to put first on the bench from Clyne (CHE), Davies (TOT) and Cueller (MUN)?

What about Sidwell or Noble for the dgw coming up?
Open Controls -
Slightly off topic. Playing a draft game where the aim is to create an XI using players that made their debut in 2000 onwards, and you can only pick 1 player per club from the big 4 leagues. I'm last with Busquets/Schweini. Running out of good strikers though. The next best one i can think of is Aguero. Any advances on that?
Lionel Messi | Javier Mascherano | Dani Alves
Cristiano Ronaldo | Kevin-Prince Boateng | Alex Song
Wayne Rooney | Arjen Robben
Andres Iniesta | Luka Modric
Kaka | Luis Suarez
Cesc Fabregas | Franck Ribery
Gerard Pique | Edinson Cavani
Robin van Persie | Daniele De Rossi
David Villa | Carlos Tevez
Wesley Sneijder | Fernando Torres
Nemanja Vidic | David Silva
Mesut Ozil | Sami Khedira
Gareth Bale | ]Manuel Neuer
Phillip Lahm | Yaya Toure
Juan Mata | Michael Essien
Bastian Schweinsteiger | Sergio BusquetsOpen Controls-
Snake-style draft? Nice.
Yep, Kun is the only elite striker that comes to mind.Open Controls-
Cheers, thoughts so. Can you believe Falcao made his debut at 13 so isn't eligible 😯

Just second guessing my (c) choice I guess 😀Open Controls-
Oh, ok. Good. Because Berbatov(c) is the real deal. I remember Stilicho or Jonty doing a post on players after international breaks and how those that are rested perform the best.
