FFS Paddy Power Members Cup III – Sixth Round Results

We now have our Quarter-Finalists for this season’s Members Cup, as the weekend programme narrowed the field further. Those eight who made progress not only keep their name in the hat for this cup, they also guarantee qualification for the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will face off against the last eight from this season’s earlier Paddy Power Cup over the final four Gameweeks of the season.

Eunuch Jelly is the name that everyone will want to avoid in the last eight – he is now the highest ranked manager remaining in the tournament, having destroyed Stewport, himself ranked 771st before the weekend. Acquafresca will also fancy his chances – he’s the other manager ranked in the top 1000 to progress. Fuzzy Dunlop is perhaps the manager to look out for, as a former winner of this cup, he’s been there and done it and probably still has his cup final suit.

The draw for the Quarter-Finals, to be played out over Gameweek 32, will be published tomorrow afternoon.

    Just to put this out there, do any members actually use the RMT tool every week to help guide their decisions for subs and captain? I have a feeling I should get into the habit as its frustrating when I get the 50/50 calls wrong. Perhaps regularly checking the computer model will aid this problem.

          if this was a normal GW with no DGW following it I'd probably have loads I could suggest but alas I am resigned to saving a transfer. Although you have the luxury of using one transfer and still have a FT next week so maybe a DGWer with a nice fixture this week is the way to go. Unfortunately none of your transfers you've suggested are absolute 'winners' if you know what I mean...Sagna could keep a CS against WBA...De Gea could keep a CS against City, but they're not odds on favourites. And Berba could do well against Newcastle but so could Sturridge if he starts (in fact I'd prefer Sturrridge)

          I think monitor the Sturridge situation in the pressers/lineup rumours. I wouldn't want to sell him if he starts this week.

    Hello DZers

    Would anyone keep Rafa over Zaba? (yes a wc question) Looking at GW 36 I think I'd rather have Theo/Caz (qpr) over an extra DGW mid and Berba (RDG) over any DGW striker or am I wrong?

    Secondly, it appears Fergie thinks RvP is knackered? If only there had been someone on here telling all you lovely folks that for weeks 😛

            but you're right, wait for injury news. But assuming he's fit? I could still get a DGW mid or striker in for -4, but I'd have to bench either Berba (RDG) or an Arsenal mid (qpr). Chelsea's mid could be rotation city, and I'll have Lamps who looks the most nailed on for PL matches. I think an Arsenal mid could be preferable to a Silva DGW.

    I found it interesting earlier while listing the unfashionable DGW midfielders how little obvious choice there is for the DGW.

    Cazorla, Walcott and Fellaini are basically the 3 highest on everybody's list.

    Now that Chelsea don't have the DGW, previously appealing options in Hazard/Lampard have gone out the window.

    Which leads me to my main point. If it's agreed that these 3 are the ideal ones to have...

    would it be worth going for an extra defender and playing 4-3-3? Or indeed...getting Baines (as the cliched saying goes, he's like a 6th midfielder) ?

      Baines will be a hassle to get in, but GW36 creates the same issues IMO, Arsenal have a nice single fixture (and nice fixtures pretty much right through now bar GW350 and if Chelsea beat City and are still in Europa their mids will still be a rotation minefield, and i think an Arsenal mid v qpr may be preferable to a Silva DGW

    If SAF abides by what he said about van Persie being knackered and hasn't had a season of such intensity and also that Rooney is that type of player who keeps needing games all the time, then offloading and downgrading van Persie shall be in the cards then.         Very short. Those transfers leave me 0.1 in the bank.
        Also, mata plays Fulham away with rotation risk/fatigue and sissoko has a home game v Sunderland.
