A stunning Sergio Aguero effort silences Old Trafford, puts the brakes on United’s title charge and hands City the three points. Here’s the Stock Check from Monday night’s pulsating Gameweek climax.

On the Up

Sergio Aguero
Not fit enough for the starting XI according to his manager, Ageuro’s introduction nonetheless proved devastating as his sublime finish capped a powerful run across the United defence to seal the City win. The Argentine has suffered a stuttering season but, having failed to start a game since Gameweek 27, he could yet be a factor in our Fantasy season’s as a potential differential if City can use tonight’s result as a springboard for an end of season flourish.

Matija Nastasic
Restored to the starting lineup at the expense of Joleon Lescott after missing the win over Newcastle through injury, the young Serb looks to back installed as the first choice partner for skipper Vincent Kompany. At just 5.3 in the Fantasy Premier League, Nastasic presents a cheap route into a City defence that offers the potential of strong returns over the remaining fixtures, with a double Gameweek also in the offing.

Going Down

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman’s run without a goal continues. While Van Persie earned praise from his manager post-match and provided the whipped cross for the Vincent Kompany own goal, his contribution went unrewarded and handed him another blank. Van Persie has now scored just one league goal in his last eight league appearances and, with Rooney also failing to impress on his return to fitness, United’s forward line looked jaded ahead of their double Gameweek. Those two fixtures will doubtless stem the tide of Van Persie sales but, if he fails to convert against Stoke and West Ham, we can surely expect his ownership to decline markedly for the final fixtures – particularly if United claim the title early.

Nemanja Vidic
Having started the last five in the league, the commanding Serb was absent tonight as he failed to shake off a knock which meant that Sir Alex Ferguson started with Phil Jones alongside Rio Ferdinand in central defence. Clearly, along with Jonny Evans and perhaps even Rio Ferdinand, it’s very doubtful whether Vidic will start both of United’s double Gameweek fixtures. Patrice Evra and David De Gea still look the most assured defensive options on show.

David Silva
Forced off with a hamstring problem at the death, it’s being reported that City have commented post-match that the Spaniard looks a doubt for the FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea on Sunday which will also cause concern for Fantasy managers ahead of his Gameweek 33 fixture against Wigan the following Wednesday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

          Not the place for a big debate on this, and i can understand how you and others may not have LIKED her, but in my humble opinion, scenes like this http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/apr/08/margaret-thatcher-death-party-brixton-glasgow are just too far someone who led our country for years and whether she did a good job or not, deserves surely an iota of respect/gratitude on her death.

    Tough GW to plan for....

    Jussi*,
    JEnrique, Demel*, Sagna*,
    Cazorla*, Mata, Fellaini*, Sissoko,
    RVP*, Suarez, Benteke,

    3.4 in bank.

    Bego, Clyne, Puncheon, Turner

    I have no more free transfers, have already taken a -4 to do Cuellar and Gerrard TO Fellaini and Sagna.

    A) Sissoko to Walcott
    B) Clyne to Rafael
    C) Leave till we get confirmation on Walcott?

    Also tempted to captain RVP with Stoke and West Ham, over Caz.... anyone else?

        Yeah it was a great goal. Fantastic finish. Would be harsh to blame Jones as he had a great game overall, just got caught out by a fresher, sharper and faster Aguero. It was a great run and superb finish

        Kuns pace to beat 3 defenders across the goal was incredible and his finish was sublime, it was messi-esque....

    DDG
    Rafael Sagna Demel
    Walcott Cazorla Fellaini Silva
    Rooney Berbatov Suarez

    Subs: Maloney Clyne Pearce Federici 0 in the bank.

    Looking to fit in Baines somehow, preferably in for Rafael.. any ideas? Also, should I ditch Silva and Suarez for double GWK players? Cheers

    My team for GW 33:

    De Gea*
    Baines*, Zabaleta, Sagna*
    Cazorla*, Walcott*, Fellaini*, Sisooko
    Van Persie*, Suarez, Berbatov*
    Bench: Townsend, Onuoha, Wilson

    Like I told earlier I went crazy (?) so took 16-point hit to do 5 DGW transfers with long term plan.. Anyway, 16-point liabilty is too much to get great "Net Points" but I can expect decent "Gross Points" with this team right?

    Hey guys, what should I do with this team? I have been doing really well all season (top 3,000) then a few weeks ago it just came crashing 🙁

    Begovic--Cerny

    Clyne--Samba--BAINES--Martin.R--Harte

    Hazard--Sissoko--Michu--CAZORLA--Mata

    Suarez--RVP--Pog

    1 FT, 0.4 in the bank.

    The transfer's I am considering are:

    1. Harte/Samba --> Sagna

    2. Sissoko/Hazard --> Fellaini

    3. Sissoko/Hazard --> Walcott

    4. Pogrebynak --> Rodriguez/Mirallas

    Please let me know what you guys think.

    Thanks! 🙂

      With 0.4 in the bank you can't afford half of those transfers?

      Ie Harte > Sagna
      Sissoko > Fellaini

      Surely has to be Hazard to Fellaini and then one of 1 & 4?

    Brought in Young last week, as a punt on DGW and now possibly injured.

    Kagawa hasn't started the last two games and United's midfield is in dire need of freshening up.

    I did have Silva in my WC team but if his injury is as bad as expected then I'm having a punt on Shinji.

    There's obviously risk involved but thats what the game is all about isn't it?

    Couple of things:

    1. GW points of only 28, 1.7m GW rank and yet still In top 1k, hooray for that as I had a shocker this week.

    2. With no Utd attacking cover I'm feeling exposed for the DGW and thought I would judge who to get (Roo vs RVP) based on last night. Tbh neither filled me with fear that I don't own them. Anyone else in the same boat? Should I just get RVP to cover off rivals?

          HAHA yes!!

          I have taken a -4 to get Sagna and Fellaini in (cant possibly afford Baines) and am considering another -4 for Sissoko to Wallcot but will wait it out....

      Giroud or Walcott depending in your team structure, Gerv and Ros both big risks.

      3 if he's fit. 2 would be my next preference. Then 1. Then 4.

    Begovic
    Mariappa / Clyne / Jose Enrique
    Walcott / Mata / Santi Cazorla / Hazard (vc)
    Van Persie / Suarez (c) / Lambert

    Bunn / Maloney / Martin R / Harte

    1FT, 1.6m in the bank.

    Main thing is I want Fellaini, but also worried about Bego(MUN) and Mariappa(LIV). Worth an -8pt hit to sort those three situations out?.

      Not an 8, no. Maybe just a Bego > DDG is on the cards?

      Yes - too much Chelsea in there can't be trusted at least with Fellani/Maloney/Michu you know there nailed on and that's the most important thing for me till the end.

      I am looking at Gervinho myself. I don't think Walcott will be fit for the Norwich game, and even Gervinho's not nailed on somehow to play the 2 games, guess I'll just go with Cazorla, who's already in.
