A stunning Sergio Aguero effort silences Old Trafford, puts the brakes on United’s title charge and hands City the three points. Here’s the Stock Check from Monday night’s pulsating Gameweek climax.

On the Up

Sergio Aguero
Not fit enough for the starting XI according to his manager, Ageuro’s introduction nonetheless proved devastating as his sublime finish capped a powerful run across the United defence to seal the City win. The Argentine has suffered a stuttering season but, having failed to start a game since Gameweek 27, he could yet be a factor in our Fantasy season’s as a potential differential if City can use tonight’s result as a springboard for an end of season flourish.

Matija Nastasic
Restored to the starting lineup at the expense of Joleon Lescott after missing the win over Newcastle through injury, the young Serb looks to back installed as the first choice partner for skipper Vincent Kompany. At just 5.3 in the Fantasy Premier League, Nastasic presents a cheap route into a City defence that offers the potential of strong returns over the remaining fixtures, with a double Gameweek also in the offing.

Going Down

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman’s run without a goal continues. While Van Persie earned praise from his manager post-match and provided the whipped cross for the Vincent Kompany own goal, his contribution went unrewarded and handed him another blank. Van Persie has now scored just one league goal in his last eight league appearances and, with Rooney also failing to impress on his return to fitness, United’s forward line looked jaded ahead of their double Gameweek. Those two fixtures will doubtless stem the tide of Van Persie sales but, if he fails to convert against Stoke and West Ham, we can surely expect his ownership to decline markedly for the final fixtures – particularly if United claim the title early.

Nemanja Vidic
Having started the last five in the league, the commanding Serb was absent tonight as he failed to shake off a knock which meant that Sir Alex Ferguson started with Phil Jones alongside Rio Ferdinand in central defence. Clearly, along with Jonny Evans and perhaps even Rio Ferdinand, it’s very doubtful whether Vidic will start both of United’s double Gameweek fixtures. Patrice Evra and David De Gea still look the most assured defensive options on show.

David Silva
Forced off with a hamstring problem at the death, it’s being reported that City have commented post-match that the Spaniard looks a doubt for the FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea on Sunday which will also cause concern for Fantasy managers ahead of his Gameweek 33 fixture against Wigan the following Wednesday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Interesting thought - Many people getting rid of mata - Depending on Ba condition, Mata seems to play much better fantasy wise with Torres on the field.

          Kagawa's unlikely to start both games. So definitely not worth it IMO. You don't need United attacking cover if he's only gonna play 1 game.

    Looking for one or two more thoughts-- Baines vs. Evra. I don't have DDG or any EV or MU def.

    Baines-- nailed on and set pieces, and attacking.
    Evra-- better chance at clean sheets in DGW and beyond. Close to nailed on, I would say.

    Pienaar in for Lampard for -4? Lampard's average is 4.5 points/game which is decent. Pienaar will be projected to get me 7.76 points if playing both games. That's only a small difference given the -4 hit, but greatly increases my flexibility going forward with 2.1 in the bank. That way, I can afford to bring Bale back. Yes/No???

      I thought on the Clichy transfer a lot, but someone mentioned that Lolarov could play the Wig game because it is midweek. Clichy will start against Che in the FA cup. Something worth of consideration. Zaba is also a risk due to Maicon and Micah back to fitness. I think its Bad K or no one. Recently I am reconsidering Matja, seems back in favor, but again the game is midweek.

    The 27-year-old England international joins a growing group of players on the treatment table, which worryingly includes three central defenders in the shape of Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling.

    “We’ll have to assess the centre-backs as the week goes on,” the boss told MUTV. “We’ve got six days until the Stoke game.

    “We’ll have to hope we can get the centre-backs fit, particularly for the Stoke match because we know what it’s going to be like down there," he added, referring to the hosts' reputation for aerial attacks.

    I think this means Jevans plays !!!

    Sturridge owner here:

    'cause of his price fall I can't do my previously planned transfer of switching to Berbatov.. I'm trying to move on with that shock (?) & thinking 'to keep Sturridge for 1 more week' (yes, you read it right) as he's facing infamous Reading defence.. Guys, do you think he finally will start this GW after Pool's goalless draw at Anfield?

    All those advocating doing either hazard or mata to fellaini for a hit. Do you not thing you will want them back for Chelsea future dgw costing you effectively another 4pts? Also rmt projects fellaini to outscore them both by only 3.5 pts. I may make that exact move to ensure everton cover but its not a good move based on the projections.

    Mirallas is considered a MF option in ESPN fantasy.
    These are my 2 transfer options:

    a) Sissoko + Sturridge -> Fellaini + Anichebe
    b) Sissoko + Sturridge -> Mirallas + Aguero

    Which would you opt for? My other players up front are:
    Mata Hazard Walcott Cazorla
    RVP Suarez

      b) As an MF, Mirallas form makes him as good an asset as fellaini so if its a choice between Aguero and Anichebe
      Pretty easy one: Neither guaranteed starts. Both have a DGW on the horizon. Aguero is class, Anichebe is not
