The Premier League have this evening confirmed a new date for Man City’s home clash with West Brom, which was originally scheduled for Gameweek 29. The fixture will now take place on Tuesday May 7, handing both clubs a double Gameweek 36 – Roberto Mancini’s side also travel to Swansea on Saturday May 4, while the Baggies entertain Wigan at the Hawthorns on the same day:

Under normal circumstances, today’s news would be ideal from a Fantasy perspective but for one small factor – the FA Cup Final. Mancini’s men go head-to-head with Wigan at Wembley on Saturday May 11, just four days after their league game with Steve Clarke’s side and with City desperate to end a disappointing season with some silverware, there’s a real fear that rest and rotation come into play and significantly hinder their double Gameweek options. While the attraction of David Silva and Sergio Aguero in midfield and up top is obvious, it may well transpire that Joe Hart is the only nailed-on asset, with Mancini confirming his intent to field Costel Pantilimon in goal for cup matches.

With City’s league game against Reading – previously scheduled for the day of the final – moved to Tuesday May 14, it leaves them with four fixtures in all competitions across 10 days. Given Mancini’s penchant for rotation, we can surely expect the Italian to utilise the depth of his squad as he keeps his key players fresh for the final. At the back, the likes of fit-again Micah Richards and Maicon, in addition to Aleksandar Kolarov, Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott, all afford Mancini plenty alternatives, while Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko will surely see further opportunity to impress, with even Scott Sinclair maybe coming in from the cold for a rare start.

Today’s news now means we have four teams to consider for the double, with Swansea and Wigan also handed a pair of fixtures apiece. With Fantasy managers still awaiting news of a rescheduled date for Chelsea’s home game with Tottenham, the bigger picture is yet to clear – though many will be prepared to gamble on Mancini’s main men, our optimism will be understandably tempered; in all likelihood, there’d be no surprise to see changes aplenty in his line-up as a result of the upcoming schedule.

It's really annoying for me as I sold Szczesney for Juusi for a hit. I need Arsenal to concede and Juusi to do something or I'll go crazy!

        You got lucky!!
I was going to keep Migs in goal but caved in and took a hit to bring in Jussi to replace Bunn
Trouble is I had a meltdown and accidentally sold Mignolet instead!!
Currently on 3(-4) instead of 7 and stuck with Bunn!!

Where should I go? Build on future DGW players, or save transfer? 1FT, 1.0m in bank

    DDG - Fed

    Evans - Sagna - Davies - Clyne - Turner

    Mata - Silva - Cazorla - Fellaini - Puncheon

    RVP - Suarez - Berbatov

      Obvious CAZ>Michu
Evans> WBA defender Billy jones is a great option

Not so obvious..fed > Robles? Know it is a bit boring but he seems to be nailed on with a DGW on the horizon. Further, it puts 0.3 in your pocket. Also, I reckon DDG to be rotated once united lock up the league.

I know this has probably been beaten to death but Paolo Di Canio is pure box office entertainment, he was great theatre as a player but even more so now. I was just re-looking at the goal celebrations from the derby. He was so mental after Vaughn's goal it did not look as if he knew whether to celebrate with the players, run up to Pardew and show him a toffee or rip his shirt off. He looked like a manager who still thought he was on the park. Epic 😀 😀

But then AVB does similar and I like that so probably just predisposition to disliking the confused fascist anyway.

See how much he's changed - people actually look forward to his posts these days. Adds a lot of value to the discussions as well. You've got humor, just keep it in under check. If people get angered by them, they need to look at their own life, as to why they are so frustrated...

Yeah let's not go on and on! It isn't that hard buddy...Just get involved in FPL and footy discussions more. An off-topic post here and there, no one will mind. Surely you're smart enough to be able to do this? 🙂

I don't have issue until off topic threads become big and significant because of the responses. Off topic stuff which is of interest to a wide audience is fine (as long as it strays away from emotive subjects that can get personal).

First and foremost, the football discussions have to dominate the site. When the site gets bloated by a number of off topic discussions, particularly those concerning individual posters rather than stuff that will interest a wider audience, then I think it's the right thing to remove them.

I don't get why people are talking about transferring West Brom players because of a DGW. The extra game is away to City. If it was a normal GW and you had a West Brom player away to City you'd be wanting to bench them in anticipation of 0-2 points. Wigan at home is also deceptive at this time of the season.

Also, City's last 4GWs are WHM, swa/WBA, rdg, NOR

Even though rotation is going to be an issue for the double we can't be certain who will be rotated and its a run of fixtures that merits a triple up, extra fixture or not.

    Evening lads.

So, the City DGW36 is finally confirmed :, sets my plans in stone pretty much (barring any injuries of course)

Also, worked out I was right, and so was the towel, United CAN win the league this time next week

Lastly, the sf was Chelsea's 59th game this season. They have at least 9 more,. and 10 if they make the final. That is 70 games. Virtually 2 full league campaigns rolled into 1 season. That is an insane amount of games. As infuriating as it may be for owners of Chelsea players FPL wise. There is no way you can play every player every game.

Someone posted the Chelsea and Liverpool line-ups for the games before last season's FA Cup Final (which would be the 2nd game in GW36) - mass rotation.

So City (and possible Wigan, depending on how safe they are by then) players are going to be a risk in GW36, as well as Chelsea players.

well I still plan on adding Kone to my Wigan duo. I have Nasty, I'll probably just have Aguero as well, even in just 90 mins Aguero could do some damage.

I'd rather have Aguero than Lukaku. I'm ignoring WBA all together I think. I may consider Lukaku over Kone but not over Aguero

No punishment for Aguero - the FA confirmed it.

I think Wigan will still need points, so Kone should be a pretty safe bet. Agree on Aguero.

well I know Robles is safe, my other is Maloney, who is possibly their best player (bar perhaps Kone) do I should be ok. I plan on having 10 DGWers plus Berba(RDG) as an 8 point hit to leave Berba on the bench seems crazy.

I'll have 8 DGWers for a 4 point hit, or 9 for an 8 point hit, but the rotation threat is a bit worrying.

At least City and Spurs have a decent run-in apart from the DGW.

I think Bemba was right, he didn't start cause they needed tall defenders against Stoke..

Fergie usually mentions these things though. I guess if you are right we will find out tomorrow in his presser. Other than what you suggest the extra height offered by Jones and Smalling seems like the most logical reason.

Evra is not that tall, but he is pretty decent in the air, Rafa not so much.

To use the physical power of Jones against a physical stoke. Typical Fergie rotation.

Yeah, I've been ballsy (should I say mad?) enough to have tripled up on Chelsea midfield. Time to get rid of one now surely? Has to be a DGW, can't look past Michu this week. Mata out? Or Hazard?

And your reasoning to it? Thing with Hazard is, if Lamps isn't on the field, it's going to be him or Luiz who will be taking penalties. And then Hazard's doing well too. I think he has more attacking threat..

I think he's the most nailed on midfielder there. Will get minutes surely, and has penalties in his bags, and we do win quite a lot of them.
