The Premier League have this evening confirmed a new date for Man City’s home clash with West Brom, which was originally scheduled for Gameweek 29. The fixture will now take place on Tuesday May 7, handing both clubs a double Gameweek 36 – Roberto Mancini’s side also travel to Swansea on Saturday May 4, while the Baggies entertain Wigan at the Hawthorns on the same day:

Under normal circumstances, today’s news would be ideal from a Fantasy perspective but for one small factor – the FA Cup Final. Mancini’s men go head-to-head with Wigan at Wembley on Saturday May 11, just four days after their league game with Steve Clarke’s side and with City desperate to end a disappointing season with some silverware, there’s a real fear that rest and rotation come into play and significantly hinder their double Gameweek options. While the attraction of David Silva and Sergio Aguero in midfield and up top is obvious, it may well transpire that Joe Hart is the only nailed-on asset, with Mancini confirming his intent to field Costel Pantilimon in goal for cup matches.

With City’s league game against Reading – previously scheduled for the day of the final – moved to Tuesday May 14, it leaves them with four fixtures in all competitions across 10 days. Given Mancini’s penchant for rotation, we can surely expect the Italian to utilise the depth of his squad as he keeps his key players fresh for the final. At the back, the likes of fit-again Micah Richards and Maicon, in addition to Aleksandar Kolarov, Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott, all afford Mancini plenty alternatives, while Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko will surely see further opportunity to impress, with even Scott Sinclair maybe coming in from the cold for a rare start.

Today’s news now means we have four teams to consider for the double, with Swansea and Wigan also handed a pair of fixtures apiece. With Fantasy managers still awaiting news of a rescheduled date for Chelsea’s home game with Tottenham, the bigger picture is yet to clear – though many will be prepared to gamble on Mancini’s main men, our optimism will be understandably tempered; in all likelihood, there’d be no surprise to see changes aplenty in his line-up as a result of the upcoming schedule.

      Evening Spencer

Nothing special, just a little tool that grabs some data about captains and bench points and counts and prints it. Get back to me on Thursday and I'll run your team through it if you want, some numbers it gets are not accurate when a gameweek is underway.

Interesting stuff. And as the ScoutCast has said, the captain choice seems to be what separates the men from the boys!

It's made me pretty curious, I'll try and take notes next season of how the most obvious ways to pick captains fared compared to the best players' choices. Captain poll, odds, stats etc.

So, having named the WBA v City new date why are the FA dragging their heals with Chelsea?

Are the chances now it will not be named in 36, as they would have done it today also?

    Any ideas peeps?

Can anyone confirm that Foy was the ref in last season's Stoke v Spurs game when Crouch used a few basketball touches to score, and then the ballboy incident at Swansea this season.

You never notice the best refs but you certainly know when Foy is the ref.

Reasons against: 1.Constant rotation worry, which could get worse as he's on loan and West Brom are safe.
      2. half of the double is against City

Reasons for: 1. Best per minute production/stats of just about anyone.
      2. Seems to start against weaker teams, and 4/6 fixtures look good.
      3. Quite cheap

Conclusion: I am so in. Giroud to Lukaku this week for me 100%.

CITY may play a reserve team against WBA (as has already been said) so avoiding them makes sense, so only WBA, Swansea and Wigan, and only Wigan have anything to play for, so reckon they'll make the best DGW36 options.

He has had a good season. Was a super sub mainly at City scoring a goal after the score was already 3/4-0. Sutherland and attack hasn't been seen much this season. Expect a price rise also. Wouldn't bother until July regarding GW1 at the earliest.

I'm not really thinking about it as such. I just know that when the time comes, somehow I'll be unable to resist. I bought AJ as soon as he joined Sunderland, then held him for 7 weeks of 2 points, and sold the week he scored 😆

Looking like -12 to get a decent team out for GW36. You think the points will be worth it or too much rest/rotation for the heavey hitters?

I saw Mata busting a gut to get back to his own penalty area after fluffing a pass and he made a crucial interception to deny goal. I like that attitude, always have done. Why do I mention it?

Rooney has always been the pinnacle of an attacking player who will bust a gut to get back to defend.
Now he,s playing behind VP and is asked to fulfill a more Mid role his defensive qualities are becoming more apparent. He doesn't have to bust a gut to get back to help his defense. Also I add he has given up penalty duties to VP.

Hate to say it, but VP under these changes becomes the main UTD attacking coverage.

I love Rooney as a player and am gonna stick with him over VP as he will get plenty of assists and goals himself over the run in.

Been a good debate this FF season over the worth of both players but if Roon was fit in all of the games I think he would of been the main point man at UTD.

I think he probably still is the first one on the tem sheet. We tend to think in terms of FPL but for a manager to have a player who can switch roles during a game...and do all those roles well...is just pure gold...I bet SAF is delighted that Rooney has become so adaptable even during an injury ravaged season...Not very good for FPL though as if he was just a striker he is one of the few who could match RVP...

bit of chicken and egg though with that....Rooney always struggles with match fitness after any form of lay off and isn't the best option for two games in a row until he's back up to speed..In fact I don't think he's achieved "up to speed all season" this year..

Im currently thinking to totally avoid WBA, SWA players and Chelsea defenders.

City players should be a decent option despite the rotation, given their nice fixtures. Cheap wigan players to give you the financial options, 3 Tottenham, and 1 or 2 chelsea mids should probably be the ones to target.

So it looks like no Lukaku for me.

Well things could change if Defoe or Ade are nailed on by than, any injuries in the City lineup or elsewhere. The correct Chelsea mid will need some thought as well.

        Me thinks
        Robles
        Dawson/Verthongen(or both), City defender,
        Maloney/Gomez, Nasri, Bale, Hazard
        Kone, Aguero,

Something like this, probably saving a transfer this week cause of all the variables.

I'd say 10 is good, Berba has RDG, so you may want to keep.

I'm looking at 10 for -8 I think, used the wc this week to get 10 for 33 and then fill the other 5 spots for 36.
