The Premier League have this morning confirmed a new date for Chelsea’s home game with Tottenham, which was initially due to take place in Gameweek 29. The fixture has now been shifted to Wednesday May 8, handing both clubs a double Gameweek 36 – the Blues travel to United on Sunday May 5 while Spurs entertain Southampton the previous day:

It now clarifies matters for Fantasy managers over the final few Gameweeks of the season and affords us the chance to plan with a greater degree of certainty. We now know that six sides – City, Chelsea, Spurs, Swansea, West Brom and Wigan – all have a double Gameweek 36 on their upcoming agendas, though Chelsea’s Europa League commitments are a definite factor to consider here.

With a couple of semi-final matches against FC Basel also taking place, Rafa Benitez’s side have eight games in 24 days from tomorrow night’s trip to Fulham until their Gameweek 37 home clash with Villa – also bear in mind that the Europa League final is four days after their game with the midlanders and rest and rotation could severely undermine our Fantasy plans, regardless of whether they get the better of the Swiss side.

With City’s schedule also affected by FA Cup Final commitments, Roberto Mancini can be expected to utilise the depth of his squad – as a result, Tottenham’s assets look likely to be of particular interest to Fantasy managers on the back of today’s news. Providing he recovers from an ankle problem, Gareth Bale looks an overwhelming armband favourite, while Jan Vertonghen’s recent attacking exploits are sure to earn the Belgian a bandwagon of his own as Andre Villas-Boas’ side attempt to clinch a top four finish.

As always, we’ll have Scouting the Doubles articles on all six sides in the lead up to Gameweek 36 but for now, this is just a heads-up.

    My favourite stat:
The last 8 Champions League Finals have consisted of:

    8 English teams
    3 Spanish
    3 Italian
    2 German

    Multiple appearances:

    United: 3
    Barcelona: 3
    Chelsea: 2
    Liverpool: 2
    Bayern: 2
    Milan: 2
    Arsenal: 1
    Inter: 1

Cheers. I guess I could have worked it out, but you know.

That's a really poor percentage of wins for England. Obviously brilliant for Spain.

    From ManUtd.com

"We have no injuries from Sunday against Stoke. It was a tough game, certainly. But there were no injuries and that is a blessing of course," the boss told MUTV.

"We have a good, strong squad. We took 20 players with us to Stoke and those 20 players will go with us again on Wednesday night."

Thoughts on these transfers over the coming weeks (in no particular order)

    Baines ➡ Vert
    Rooney ➡ Aguero
    Caz/Walcott ➡ Michu
    Kagawa/Fellaini ➡ Bale
    Berba/Suarez ➡ Kone

Would set me back 8 points overall from now til DGW36

I can only assume Jones was a tactical decision then, as Rafael's not injured. Smalling probably better as defensive cover on the bench.

Jones is a bit taller than Rafael, if you watched the game you'd have seen that Stoke targeted Evra at full back because of his height (Shotton coming onto him a fair bit from crosses)

Maybe SAF thought it best to have another aerially sound player at the back.

And even if I didn't, last season's away game at Stoke ended 1-1. Stoke scored in that match from a corner as well. Struggling to see the argument here?

My point is there is an assumption that tactically Rafael is droppe against teams such as Stoke. This to me is hogwash. West Ham play a very similiar game for eg. In most teams it is not crucial that your fbs are very tall. For defening set pieces payers from other areas serve that purpose.

Do you think SAF randomly drops players for certain games then? In knowing that United have conceded from corners in the two previous matches against Stoke I think he took action.

First game of the season SAF played Valencia at right back to attempt to in part stop aerial threat.

Later in the season Rafael plays against a Reading team with a strong aerial threat, he's booked and United concede two goals directly from corners (not necessarily Rafa's fault but he brings in Smalling for height). He's subbed after 30 minutes.

I'm not randomly spewing off drivel here.

Swansea may not have a lot to play, but that hasn't stopped Michu yet
Bale - riskier not to own him
      Not touching Chelsea defenders
Aguero - same principle as Bale
Nasty - cbs and keepers require less rest than other positions
Kone - Maybe he just likes number 2, he hasn't exactly been poor
Maloney - I have to add to what Demi said
Dawson - cheap, and Kaboul got injured again
      Davies - not touching

In the case of Michu, he's done alright the last few weeks without his team having anything to play for. More relevant however is what does Michu personally have to play for? I'd suggest quite a lot if he's looking to move on to a bigger club (no disrespect to Swansea).

Of the DGW36 teams, I reckon only Michu, Wigan and Spurs are worthy of consideration.

Possibly, but in their case I wouldn't consider having a DGW as a reason for getting in their players, given rotation issues.

I already have Nasty, I think he's fairly safe, cb's need less rest. I'm also taking Aguero. He may only 90-120 mins, but I still think he could do damage, and I'm getting him GW35 to the end, so it's not soley a DGW transfer, though that does help. Am gonna get 1 Chelsea mid. Torres and ba ain't worth it, don't want/need a defender

As a youngster though, it seems Nasty has been rested at times this season. I'm looking to offload my Chelsea mids - had Mata and Haz last week, down to just Haz this week and wondering if he's the one to make way for Bale.

I'd keep a Chelsea mid I think, it's tough one given their fixtures for the DGW and the rotation, but is say, Silva, any more likely to play both? I'd say less so, as the EL final will be midweek GW37, making the weekend game their prime resting time.

I think Rafael will come back in at right back for United tomorrow. If he's in the squad I can only think that SAF played Jones at right back to (successfully) quell Stoke's aerial threat. Evra at left back was targeted all match by cross field balls into Shotton. Also Jones was very decent from corners.

Hernandez out of the team, putting either Jones or Cleverley into the centre of midifield with Rafa back into RB.

Would be trying to get them in if it wasn't for the DGW

Of the 2, I would say Benteke is the better player to keep hold of, given the emergence of Rodriguez and the fact that Southampton are now safe (i.e. have nothing more to play for).

I just have a thing for getting rid of players in a bit of form and gambling on someone. But from what everyone has said I'll hang on for another week.

Market is really slow atm. No one anywhere near a rise, hardly anyone has fallen. Closest to a rise is Yaya at 89%, closest to fall of anyone that matters is Harte at 96%

Though I though the monkey might like to know that Kolarov is at 94% for a drop to 5.4

Lukaku not completing 90 minutes and Clarke seems to randomly pick Long over him, possibly with a view to next season. Might be worth a punt if need be but prepare to be let down too

I have him and I´m keeping but wouldn´t buy atm, honestly, I don´t know in what point negotiations are as WBA were trying another year long loan but I believe Chelsea will want him in their team for next season which means he may be benched in order to give more game time to actual WBA players since they have no other goal to go for, this season.

Anyone listening to Hawksbee and Jacobs on TalkSport, with Danny Kelly sitting in for Paul Hawksbee?

Kelly is killing the show. No sense of timing, constantly talking and butting in and obvious has no radio relationship with Jacobs. It is cringe worthy.....
