United complete the job thanks to a devastating hat-trick from Robin Van Persie as Villa are dismissed in front of jubilant Old Trafford faithful. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday’s action…

On the Up

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman chose the perfect occasion to emphatically underline his value, both to United and to his Fantasy owners, with a superbly taken hat-trick. On the day that saw Luis Suarez likely banned for the remainder of the season, Van Persie’s pursuit of the Golden Boot now looks complete having moved to 24 for the season with tonight’s goals. With so many Fantasy managers handing Van Persie the armband, tonight’s events will have opened up a chasm between the “have” and “have-nots”, impacting on many a mini-league scenario with just four Gameweeks remaining. The concern now is whether Van Persie will earn a rest or continue to find profit over the remaining matches.

Phil Jones
The former Blackburn man was, once again, outstanding. Jones has now started the last four league outings and looks firmly in favour, whether that be at centre-back, or alongside Michael Carrick in central midfield. With four games remaining and a 5.6 price tag, Jones would normally find plenty of interest, were it not for double Gameweek distractions.

Shinji Kagawa
Another player who has come into bloom in recent weeks. Tonight was Kagawa’s third consecutive start, his fourth in the last five. The Japanese international looks set to go on enjoying the tail end of the season with Fantasy managers no doubt making note of his impact with next term in mind.

Going Down

Wayne Rooney
It’s rather remiss to knock Rooney on a night of celebration but there’s little doubt that those holding the striker as an alternative to Van Persie paid the ultimate price this evening. While Rooney kept pace with the Dutchman for periods of the season and even looked a stronger option at times, the run-in has seen Van Persie put the debate to bed with five goals in three matches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is Maloney AND Kone too much coverage from a side which is struggling to create chances. The only alternative is Lukaku, but Brom have nothing to play for.

The reason I'm not looking at Kone is because I have Maloney and Robles. A WIG triple seems way too much invested in a side in the bottom three.

I'd stick with Maloney and go for either Lukaku or Defoe if I were you..

Could've been even better as I left Hazard on the bench this week, playing the mighty Jay Rodriguez instead of him. Ah we'll, onwards and upwards.

Also, is there anyone else for whom RVP was going to be a one week punt, then switched to Tevez after this week?

Evening. Pardon the lengthy post, but they are getting shorter.

Here are the results for the Deadzone Bracketology Tournament, GW 33-38. Everton populates the Sweet Sixteen with their apathetic 2 pointers moving forward like clones, but plenty of tasty h2h matchups for GW 35 regardless. All the #1 seeds remain, but only Tevez has a dgw left. Fellaini v Sessegnon is a particularly tight one this gw.

Laernu and No Association have the most players remaining with three each.

Alot of people doubling up on Hazard and Mata, nice. I guess United having won the EPL makes that fixture more attractive for Chelsea's DGW.

Do you seriously think he will play the statuesque Adebayor over Defoe?

One of the top strikers in the PL, in a very strong side. Is consistant. The danger is to focus too much on the dgw, its having him until the end of the season.

I know there is something telling me that that bandwagon could be misplaced City striker yes for the dgw but i will wait and see before committing to City forward Aguero and or could be the stock to invest in
