United complete the job thanks to a devastating hat-trick from Robin Van Persie as Villa are dismissed in front of jubilant Old Trafford faithful. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday’s action…

On the Up

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman chose the perfect occasion to emphatically underline his value, both to United and to his Fantasy owners, with a superbly taken hat-trick. On the day that saw Luis Suarez likely banned for the remainder of the season, Van Persie’s pursuit of the Golden Boot now looks complete having moved to 24 for the season with tonight’s goals. With so many Fantasy managers handing Van Persie the armband, tonight’s events will have opened up a chasm between the “have” and “have-nots”, impacting on many a mini-league scenario with just four Gameweeks remaining. The concern now is whether Van Persie will earn a rest or continue to find profit over the remaining matches.

Phil Jones
The former Blackburn man was, once again, outstanding. Jones has now started the last four league outings and looks firmly in favour, whether that be at centre-back, or alongside Michael Carrick in central midfield. With four games remaining and a 5.6 price tag, Jones would normally find plenty of interest, were it not for double Gameweek distractions.

Shinji Kagawa
Another player who has come into bloom in recent weeks. Tonight was Kagawa’s third consecutive start, his fourth in the last five. The Japanese international looks set to go on enjoying the tail end of the season with Fantasy managers no doubt making note of his impact with next term in mind.

Going Down

Wayne Rooney
It’s rather remiss to knock Rooney on a night of celebration but there’s little doubt that those holding the striker as an alternative to Van Persie paid the ultimate price this evening. While Rooney kept pace with the Dutchman for periods of the season and even looked a stronger option at times, the run-in has seen Van Persie put the debate to bed with five goals in three matches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Nope, City has glorious run of fixtures. I recommend also getting Dzeko in with those two.

City's fixtures are great and they could conceivably score a lot of goals, however they might not be bothered seeing as their season is over.

So you think neither then? Or would ou say to guess between the two as to who will score their goals or even play for that matter? I just think the potential there is high enough that if you have both and they play together, they can score goals and assists. If only one plays, with their fixtures, he should score a good enough avg for he two and of course a good sub to come on doesn't hurt. Otherwise, if don't believe in city' s potential, why not stay away altogether, or even just triple up on hart, kompany, and maybee zaba.

    Any suggestions for next week?

    http://imgur.com/B4xqylR

Thinking of dropping Berbatov, especially when you consider Fulham's abysmal away record. Fellaini is a concern too with him playing deeper - it's got me considering a punt on Milner / Yaya.

Considering I have a 60 point lead in my ML (the only league that really matters to me) should I really be risking point hits at this stage?

Began the day in 47th place but only had RVP (C) playing today , i assumed everyone else at the top would of too , expected to lose about 20 places as those with Man U defenders overtook my score.

However instead of dropping went from 47 to 39th very odd

Is it so smart to trade suarez out for the hope defoe or tevez to produce? Its not that straight forward unless your bench is awful looking. They'd have to atleast get an assist to break even (+/- a point or so)

He more robust than Aguero and likely to get more minutes.

If anything I'd predict their games will be more open, with more goals. A bit like the last game of the season - always high scoring because everyone relaxes.

With their fixtures they've effectively got 5 last days of the season. The opposition are either safe but mid table, or relegated (reading) and so none of them will have incentive to play for a tight 0-0 draw either.

well it's either Tevez or Aguero...and seeing as Aguero didn't even feature against Spurs I'm more reluctant to take a 4 point hit for him on that basis. Makes sense?

That boosts Aguero stock even more imo he will have to get a game in that case and he will be nice and rested too.Aguero is the big differential staring everyone in the face but most cant afford him he will relay punish managers around you if you have him and he scores well

Why would kone lukaku or defoe be worth a four point hit though if they have averaged below four points the past 3 games?

defoe and tevez are the only sensible options but defoe always cools down and tevez is a rotational risk

I took RVP out of my wildcard team last night to opt for a front 3 of Tevez, Kone & Defoe. Should I stick with those 3 of is RVP simply a 'must have' I bought for 13.6 but would swallow my pride and pay 13.7m if it saved me a colossal fall.

I just wonder has got his job done, golden boot in the bag, title in the bag.

Bring him back in or stick to my guns?

give me an example of 2 offside goals in a match, let alone a hattrick of offsides, 5 days after another offside goal and i will.
this is a season killing point swing, the worst ever, the worst there will ever be as it's so extreme. you can't write it, except you can
