With just three Gameweeks to go, the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield, a tournament featuring the top Fantasy Managers from this season’s Cups, reaches it’s last eight. Here’s a round-up of the first round results, plus the draw for the Quarter-Finals.

Our Fantasy Football Scout Cup winner, Wild Rover, was a notable casualty at the weekend, falling at the first hurdle to the powerful Giavara555 – the former FPL number one won out by a nine point margin and with a rank of 73, is one of the early favourites for the crown. He faces a tough Quarter-Final however, with Eunach Jelly waiting form him in the last eight have won a low scoring affair in the first round. The “Jellyman” was previously ranked 281 in the world just three Gameweeks ago but has slipped after three straight red arrows to a current rank of 1086. Nonetheless, he will provide a formidable obstacle to Giavara555’s progress.

Mile High will meet MrKK in the last eight, with the former having won a titanic struggle with cuihe_508, getting the edge on rank alone. With a standing of 43 in the world, Mile High has to be the tournament favourite and the name to avoid – an unfortunate draw for MrKK, then. Although, with a rank of 1077, he will be far from a pushover.

Acquafresca is clearly on a roll after his Members Cup victory, he stormed into the next round with a win over Maddocio, where he’ll face Ricky Smokes lets go who progressed with a convincing first round win over ange1range1 in a rematch of their Cup Quarter-Final earlier in the season. Ricky is the lowest ranked player remaining in the tournament with a standing of 14194; the fact that all our players in the last eight are in the top 15k in the world is a mark of the standard involved.

The final Quarter-Final pairs former Members Cup winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, with Tommy Tynans Left Shinpad. Both enjoyed convincing victories in the first round and, with a rank of 2119 against Tommy’s 5365, Fuzzy will be the favourite to progress from this tie.

All matches will be played out over Gameweek 36.

    Team for DGW is:
    Hart
    Kompany Vertonghen Boyce
    Mata Bale Michu Maloney (Fellaini)
    Tevez Lukaku RVP

    Would you do:

    A – Play RVP
    B- do -4 Fellaini to Hazard and bench RVP
    C- do -4 RVP to Defoe/Ba

      Not madness at all if bringing in a striker would mean a 4pt hit. Could prove to be a tidy differential while many DGW strikers could potentially flop. Get rid of Berba instead maybe?

          Exactly - R D Hunters last show ('pride, prejudice and n****s' - they should have know who they were booking!) was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. The idea that a black man from Georgia who has made a career out of brilliant shows on race should be lectured to by the PFA of all groups is absurd.

              Honestly, that 100k+ to 50k in 2 weeks was loads more satisfying than if I get top 1k this season.

    UCL question - I captained Ronaldo. Should I switch? Choices are Messi, Schweinsteiger, Alaba or Bonfim? Normally I'd go for Messi and think nothing of it, but based on the last game against Bayern, I'm not so certain...

    1 FT, 1.6m in the bank, which transfer looks the best?

    A. Mig -> Hart
    B Rafa -> Vert

    Mig (Fab)
    Zabaleta/Davies/Enrique (Rafael/Clyne)
    Mata/Bale/Michu/Walcott/Maloney

      Lukaku imo

      City could play weak defence with cup final
      Wigan are shocking and their best defenders are injured

    I'm anxious about not having City defence coverage!!

    I think I might be banking on one of two things...

    a) heavy defensive rotation from mancini (meaning me avoiding a hit to get one will turn out wise)

    or

    b) they show some slackness due to lack of motivation and concede a few more than expected!

    But then I look at their fixtures and think...are they even going to concede 1 goal in those games?

      I'm with you on this. If you get one in then don't expect a DGW, but do it for GWs 37 and 38. Problem is we can probably expect rotation then, as well.

        Hart is safest obviously but if looking at defenders alone, I would think Komp and Zaba will play 3 of the last 4 games, maybe all 4

          Hart is definitely safest but I can't afford him and he has the least upside, someone like Zaba might get a goal/assist

          I think Nasty and Clichy might get 3 out of 4 too - but man c have a good enough reserve back 4 for the WBA game, and I think they'll go with that.

        I disagree.

        Chelsea have 2 must win games against 2 really tough opponents. Mata and Hazard will start both games, without question.
