With just three Gameweeks to go, the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield, a tournament featuring the top Fantasy Managers from this season’s Cups, reaches it’s last eight. Here’s a round-up of the first round results, plus the draw for the Quarter-Finals.

Our Fantasy Football Scout Cup winner, Wild Rover, was a notable casualty at the weekend, falling at the first hurdle to the powerful Giavara555 – the former FPL number one won out by a nine point margin and with a rank of 73, is one of the early favourites for the crown. He faces a tough Quarter-Final however, with Eunach Jelly waiting form him in the last eight have won a low scoring affair in the first round. The “Jellyman” was previously ranked 281 in the world just three Gameweeks ago but has slipped after three straight red arrows to a current rank of 1086. Nonetheless, he will provide a formidable obstacle to Giavara555’s progress.

Mile High will meet MrKK in the last eight, with the former having won a titanic struggle with cuihe_508, getting the edge on rank alone. With a standing of 43 in the world, Mile High has to be the tournament favourite and the name to avoid – an unfortunate draw for MrKK, then. Although, with a rank of 1077, he will be far from a pushover.

Acquafresca is clearly on a roll after his Members Cup victory, he stormed into the next round with a win over Maddocio, where he’ll face Ricky Smokes lets go who progressed with a convincing first round win over ange1range1 in a rematch of their Cup Quarter-Final earlier in the season. Ricky is the lowest ranked player remaining in the tournament with a standing of 14194; the fact that all our players in the last eight are in the top 15k in the world is a mark of the standard involved.

The final Quarter-Final pairs former Members Cup winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, with Tommy Tynans Left Shinpad. Both enjoyed convincing victories in the first round and, with a rank of 2119 against Tommy’s 5365, Fuzzy will be the favourite to progress from this tie.

All matches will be played out over Gameweek 36.

Going in with only 5 dgw players and no hits, madness?
My h2h opponent has 4 and has done 2 transfers, so its safe to presome he has 6.

    My team:

    ddg
    baines obrien DAWSON
    walcott BALE(C) MALONEY HAZARD
    benteke rvp KONE

    bench: federici kagawa turner clyne

Only ones i could take out are:
baines - but only player i would take is verthongen, and i already have dawson
    - a city defender, but with the rotation, even if they do get both CS, my player will probably get 1. An that calculates to 6-4 = 2 points, and i doubt baines will do much worse
-che defenders vs TOT and MUN? No thanks

federici -> foster seems ok, but i can see that not justifing a hit either (point wise). But it might come in handy to get a second playing GK.

Wouldn't change any of the midfield players, so im left with benteke (no way im selling him) and RVP.
Again, only players i would take for RVP are city players tevez and aguero, but will they play both games? And RVP mostly delivers in big games.

    Any advice? 🙁

In fact it looks like an extremely balanced team. I like it. I have a dilemma over playing Benteke or RVP

Sorry for the repost not sure if it got missed or nobody has any thoughts, but would love some views.

With Figueroa and Alcaraz injured is Stam guaranteed to play and if so will he play wing back in a five and Boyce in the back three or have I made that up?

    My team:

    Jussi
    Dawson* Sagna Davies*
    Bale*(C) Mata* Michu* Walcott
    RVP Tevez* Lukaku*

    Bego Fellani Demel Wilson

    0FT 1.7 in the bank

Good to go or should I get some more DGW love?

Annoyingly 0.1 off being able to Bego -> Hart, could do it with Wilson -> Stam or RVP-> Aguero for a -8

    Total Hits: 60 points
    Overall Rank: 11598

Could do with a little less hits next season.
