With just three Gameweeks to go, the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield, a tournament featuring the top Fantasy Managers from this season’s Cups, reaches it’s last eight. Here’s a round-up of the first round results, plus the draw for the Quarter-Finals.

Our Fantasy Football Scout Cup winner, Wild Rover, was a notable casualty at the weekend, falling at the first hurdle to the powerful Giavara555 – the former FPL number one won out by a nine point margin and with a rank of 73, is one of the early favourites for the crown. He faces a tough Quarter-Final however, with Eunach Jelly waiting form him in the last eight have won a low scoring affair in the first round. The “Jellyman” was previously ranked 281 in the world just three Gameweeks ago but has slipped after three straight red arrows to a current rank of 1086. Nonetheless, he will provide a formidable obstacle to Giavara555’s progress.

Mile High will meet MrKK in the last eight, with the former having won a titanic struggle with cuihe_508, getting the edge on rank alone. With a standing of 43 in the world, Mile High has to be the tournament favourite and the name to avoid – an unfortunate draw for MrKK, then. Although, with a rank of 1077, he will be far from a pushover.

Acquafresca is clearly on a roll after his Members Cup victory, he stormed into the next round with a win over Maddocio, where he’ll face Ricky Smokes lets go who progressed with a convincing first round win over ange1range1 in a rematch of their Cup Quarter-Final earlier in the season. Ricky is the lowest ranked player remaining in the tournament with a standing of 14194; the fact that all our players in the last eight are in the top 15k in the world is a mark of the standard involved.

The final Quarter-Final pairs former Members Cup winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, with Tommy Tynans Left Shinpad. Both enjoyed convincing victories in the first round and, with a rank of 2119 against Tommy’s 5365, Fuzzy will be the favourite to progress from this tie.

All matches will be played out over Gameweek 36.

    One thing I'm most devastated about the last while in FPL is Fabianski, he would have been such a bargain and great for this run in. I would have played him this week too with qpr away. So desperately unlucky he got an injury the first game I buy him! 🙁

    Current team:

    Jussi
    Dawson Sagna Davies
    Bale (C) Mata Mich Walcott
    RVP Tevez Lukaku

    Bego Fellani Demel Wilson

    0FT 1.7 in the bank

    Happy with my front 7, is it worth a hit or two to get more DGW coverage in defence (not convinced with Davies)?
    Current thinking:
    1. Bego -> Foster (-4)
    2. Bego -> Cech (-4)
    3. Davies -> Clichy (-4)
    4. Wilson/Davies -> McAuley (-4)
    5. Bego -> Robles, Wilson/Davies -> Zabaleta, (-8)
    6. Bego -> Robles, Wilson/Davies -> Luiz, (-8)
    7. Bego -> Hart, Wilson/Davies -> Stam (-8)
    8. Leave as is.

    @Unreal

    Computer rates Davies 4.46 and Enrique 3.9

    But we all know the machine favours DGWers.

    Though what this means roughly I think is its saying Dawson will get close to no chance of attacking points but guaranteed 2 starts (2 + 2 appreance ) + 10% of an assist = 4.4 pts

    And enrique (2 appearance) + (50% of CS 4pts) = 4 pts

    Makes sense to me.

      Dawson? do you mean Davies there?

      Yeah that sounds about right to me.

      I reckon a 4.46 rating is quite poor for a DGWer. I mean it's basically saying he has a very small chance of getting over 4 points. And like I said last page, he's 1.8ppg for the last 10 games which means over two games a good estimation would be 3.6ppg going by form. Which is appalling.

      On the contrary Enrique at 3.9 (let's just call that 4) for a single game is quite good. Thanks mate

        Yes, davies. I think what it means is that youll be getting close to no chance of attacking points and CS (which i tend to agree)

        Its a choice between guaranteed 4 pts or anything between 2-6pts.

          Or enrique can very easily do 10pts on a good day.

          If Im ML leader though, id take the guaranteed 4 in a heartbeat.

            see, it's actually not a guaranteed 4 points though even.

            Take this into consideration...

            Davies may not play both games (Neil Taylor is back)

            Davies plays Man City (possiblity of 0-1 points, possibly even minus points on a bad day)

            So if he plays both games there's a chance he gets less than 4 points still. Oh and the last DGW he got 1 point!!

    When asked if he would be with Madrid next season, Mourinho, who has been consistently linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, told ITV: "Maybe not. I want to be where people love me to be."

    "I have a contract, respect for the club and the president. I want to play the [Copa del Rey] final, finish the season, finish second," the Madrid coach later told Sky Sports.

    "I know I'm loved in England. Loved by the fans, the media. I know I'm loved by some clubs - especially one. In Spain it's different - some people hate me. It's difficult to make a decision because I like the club. I like the president."

    No Busquets, Abidal, Puyol or Mascherano tomorrow. Means a back four of Alves, Pique, Bartra and Adriano with Song sitting in front...doesn't instill a lot of confidence.

      no alba either?

      it's not the defense that needs to inspire confidence though, it's the attack!!

    Enrique over Davies. It makes me wonder why Davies is on my team if I can't bring myself to start him when he has a double game week. Bah.

    Is anyone else watching the NHL playoffs?

      Unreal made some good point in my post above re Enrique vs Davies.

      I tend to agree starting Enrique is the correct decision.

        Go Davies. He will probably start both games and so that's two chances of a clean sheet (and he is due one). I am benching Enrique

          Ok. looks like you had no choice....which makes it easier!

          DDG

          ZABALETA - VERTONGHEN - Sagna

          BALE - MATA - MICHU - MALONEY

          VanPersie - TEVEZ - Lambert

          subs: Fellaini, R.Martin, Mariappa

          Fellaini>Nasri/Yaya or
          Lambert>Lukaku/Kone is my dilemma and the longer I wait, the more their prices are going up....

    I know it's meant as a guide (blah blah blah) but for gw36 RMT of my def suggests
    Zabaleta-MartinR-Dawson-[bench Demel-Baines]
    Zab and Dawson are dgw's, bench Baines tho?
    Thoughts?
