Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

Any gueses on the price of soldado if he arrives to the spurs? Anything under 9 can be a great bargain IMO.

Between 9-9.5. Pretty similar goal record to Negredo so I would guess he'll be similar in price.

Some will to get RVP and a superstar midfield. Graham will get a few, Gayle the unknown quantity at this level. His goal precentage seems to drop at each rise in level. Risky strategy when RVP has less than ideal opening fixtures.

Not enough money to go around unfortunately 🙁

        Could do:

        Coleman/Toure/£4m to Turner/Yanga-Mbiwa/Foster

BUT I'd still want to play Boruc most weeks, even if it is away. I'd also miss Coleman's attacking runs and Toure racking up CS and BAPS as the CB.

Feel more comfortable having Boruc on his own and a stronger defence. Yeah I'm not a fan of the rotating mids either man but I don't know what to do without compromising the rest of my team.

What do you all think of this team based on three kinda unlikely conditions a) Rooney goes to Chelsea b) Chelsea has a double gameweek week 1 c) There are no other major signings between now and the start of the season?

    Mannone (Boruc)

    Cole-Azpilcueta-MTurner (Chester-Parr)

    Bale-Hazard-Morrison-Jarvis (Koren)

Hmm, Mata's a thought, I don't really like the idea of committing to the wildcard so early though, and I feel like there's a little more balance with an extra defender. Plus Hull/Villa at home look decent bets for clean sheets.

      Balanced? Yes.

      Squad Depth? Weak.

My problem is that your rotation is going to HURT. Trust me, I've been tinkering with all those defenders apart from Parr all day and it isn't pretty. Upgrade Parr to Shaw for the tough times ahead imo.

Nolan is literally nothing without Carroll. I am a huge fan of Nolan and couldn't wait to have him but without Andy in the first few games he'll disappear. The stats completely agree there.

Unless they have a DGW, Haz really isn't worth it. He's a flat track bully with United + Blank in first 3 GW.

Thomas AND Anelka? That's a really horrible combo mate since you're going to be forced to play one of these each week. Imo upgrade Thomas to Tonev/Kaca/Brunt & Anelka to Ruiz/Kaca if possible.

I do think you have a solid foundation so I'd give a 6.5/10.

I'd like it a little better if you could squeeze 1/2 million for JRod instead of Anelka. I like the punt on Nolan, but he seems like the most likely candidate for a downgrade to fund it.

    DGW?
What happens before the Hull City game has an impact. Also, if we have to play against Aston Villa two or three days later – we still don't know when that will be [the game is still to be rescheduled, having been set for the weekend Chelsea play in the European Super Cup in Prague on 30 August] – I will have to think about two or three matches at the same time. If the game is postponed until two months later and I have only one match in a week, I will think differently. It depends on the situation."

    Hazard over Coutinho?

ChelseaS opening fixture schedule looks dodgy especially with that 'ghost fixture' in GW3.......

    Boruc - Davis
    Coleman - Mertesacker - Collins - Parr - Chester
    Hazard - ? - Snodgrass - Bale - Thomas
    Lambert - ? - Berbatov

    A) Arteta selected by 9% [131 ts] / RVP selected by 36.1% [262 ts]

    B) Cazorla selected by 9.7% [205 ts] / Aguero selected by 11.2% [121 ts (mostly due to injuries)]

Rotation up front at West Brom. Clarke loves it
Hardly in form. Poor record in Chine

As for Lambert, i thought you said 6m? they both offer equal value though...

You said 6m or less so couldnt say Lambert. Anelka I am suspicious of, poor in China and I'm not sure if he'll start week in week out

"We are thinking of letting Nathaniel go on loan for a last season," Mourinho said. "That is our intention and he knows. We have discussed that with him. He is a very, very good player. I like him very much and am very impressed. For sure, he is a Chelsea player. We will see whether or not it is a Premier League club but he would have to play every weekend for the last year of his loan period. He could be in our squad already but we think one more season will help and then he will come back for 2014-15. It will be his last one out on loan. He is very, very good.

He almost certainly will, I think the club will only realistically loan him to another Premier League club too.
