Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

    C. Kone

    Who would you rather have?

      B, A, C for me.

I don't get the excitement for Kone, I put up with him in my team way too long last season and although he always looked like he was going to do something good he rarely ever did.

That frontline is a bot risky, I'd downgrade the defense and get a better striker in, then consider Lambert, Kone or Bony.

Anybody having a look at Adam Johnson?
Wasn't bad last season and I'd expect Sunderland to improve offensively with some new signings. Cheap enough at 7.0 and could be considered in the midfield of a team squeezing in RVP & Bale

Fletcher was awfully consistent finisher last season - he'd be a real differential... But I know hat you mean - he is Scottish after all

Check out the article on Giacherinni - perhaps never claimed a regular starting place at Juve - but well respected, hence his number of Italy caps. Got an eye or a pass too

Combined with the other arguments mentioned here that made me turn away from Sunderland for now.

QUality player, bit inconsistent, Di Canio should give him a good kick in the arse. Sessegnon might be a better option, seems more likely to work hard on his game. McClean is the forgotten man of that team, hence his price, unlikely to get into that 11 unless he starts getting his act together.

McClean, I'm afraid is a one trick pony.
He runs straight and crosses it in, I'm pretty sure he's one of the easiest Premier League wingers to mark for a good defender. I just don't think he has the technique to be a top player

I'm not saying he's a top player, just one of the better 5.5m options. Just had a kid, hopefully will settle down. He has loads to imrove on. A big jump from LOI to PL, I think the hype here when he moved to Sunderland melted his head a bit. Regardless of FF I'd prefer to see him in an Ireland jersey ahead of Mcgeady or Cox or, worse again, a more defensive midfeielder.

Is Pilkington left footed or even that good? The other bloke who played LB last season was really a CB playing out there wasn't he? Take the point about rotation tho. But perhaps he's more likely to play at home and particularly against bottom half sides?

Think Olsson is more likely to play away in rotation than at home.

Pilkington was stifled away from home by the system. Stats show he has a lot more shots on goal, crosses and just about everything else at home and he's allowed to attack first, defend second.

pilk is very 2 footed, hard to say if he's good as it depends what counts as good, but he's decent for where norwich are (/have been) and who they are.
was garrido lb, martin was the main rb who is arguably more of a cb. whittaker i'm not sure baout his past, he's a big fella but i think he's always been a full back.

seems to be living off his name a bit, should benefit from a 38 game season (rather than 46 in the championship, much more tuesday night games etc) but i'd be very wary that his goal and assist threat was pretty uninspiring in a lower league. seems a deeper hard-worker now without the chance to get on the end of things himself

I'm not sure. Initially after the Ireland game I think they thought he might be out for 4 months. Dunno Grounderz why it's not flagged, it's common knowledge he's not fit.

          This from last week -

          http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-leave-daniel-sturridge-5108747

Maybe cos he's fit, fitter than most of us! But not fit enough to be playing ball and he won't be match fit for GW1 if he's not getting any preseason games. If he plays 90 mins v Celts in Aviva on the 10th, get him.

Brunt should be worth his price, no more, no less. Bellamy won't play every game at his age and with his injury problems but could be valuable at certain points in the season.

Out of the 3, Joe Cole. Bellamy will rotate, Brunt is just ... someone to fill the gap really. Cole has great fixtures to begin with so there's every chance he'll serve u well to start with. A few weeks in and u might already know who the bargain midfielders are.

RVP + different 5.0 mid. Duff and Dejagah are first choice I reckon.

Duff won't play that much at his age and I can see Kacaniklic being the better option if he's playing on the left. I already have Koren too. The problem with owning RVP is i'll have to rotate Koren and Kacaniklic.

aguero over silva for mci cover for me. jrod in, benteke out (i'm a villa and tekkers fan, but their start is horrid). leaves you plenty cash in mid for a kagawa/hazard etc depending on how the rest of pre-season goes.

......whatever the answer.....all of these RMT's are a bit premature for me?!

I have played around with the forwards and keep ending up with RVP and two cheapies. He's expensive, but I think he will outscore all of the 7-10mill forwards by a good margin, which adds to a lot more if you captain him at the right time.

The midfield options however, are plentiful, which leads me towards the idea of dropping Bale instead and bolstering defense with a solid mid. The only problem I am finding is how to add Tottenham coverage..
