Tonight we’ve introduced a few changes to the HomeCrowd comments system – the main tweak being the removal of the downvote mechanism to put more emphasis on upvoting in order to ensure comments remain useful, entertaining and friendly.

We’ve taken this decision after gathering feedback from the community and undertaking lengthy discussion behind the scenes. We want to ensure there remains a strong focus on positive interaction between community members and to reduce any misuse of the voting system. It appeared that there was clear confusion on how the downvote should be used and the mechanic had also become secondary as an aid to moderation.

Many of the major social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook only have positive feedback options, such as ‘like’ and ‘favourite’ and we’ve decided to follow their lead. As before, please be sure to upvote any comment that you find useful and that you feel benefits the community.

In order to allow users to flag up any comments that they feel warrant moderator attention, we’ve also made a slight change by renaming the “report†button to “flagâ€. Please use the flag button if you feel a comment post is disruptive or abusive and a moderator will take a look and act on it if required.

Finally, we have removed the publicly displayed reputation level badges. Again, these caused some confusion and while we’ve kept them and the hidden reputation system behind them, the badges can now only be seen within a poster’s profile.

Thank you to everyone for your feedback during the first few weeks of HomeCrowd, it has been invaluable to helping us evolve it. Once the season begins and traffic levels settle, we will hopefully have the opportunity to start adding new features.

No, but that's what RM are prepared to pay, Spurs should take the money and run. They can get 3 world class players including a much needed striker and creative midfielder with that money.

Good decision imo Scouts 🙂 I would say that now the green arrow looks a little odd as there isn't a downward one. It just seems a little unbalanced. Maybe a little +1 that you could click instead? Very minor detail and it might just be me being a little ocd.

    Case for Rooney:

    - 10.5m

    - Moyes has shown his intent in buying a world class CMer (no more deep roles)

    - There are no bad fixtures for a team like United, they can score against anyone
    .

    - Moyes quotes:

"We're working together now. And I see a little glint in his eye. He looks happy and he looks as if he's saying: 'I'm going to knuckle down, I'm going to get myself right.' And I can only say I've been impressed with how he's done. He's a terrific player and I'm really looking forward to [working with him]. And as the club have reiterated, he won't be for sale."

" Well, what we're doing at the moment is we're looking to see how we can get Wayne Rooney getting those goals which is going to challenge the likes of Bobby Charlton and Denis Law's number. So as far as I'm concerned the way he's working I'm more than happy to work with him and make sure we get success."

" we're trying everything we can to make sure to get Wayne to the level where we think – I mean, this country's got a World Cup hopefully next year to play in, so [it is] for everybody's benefit we try and get him in a condition, a state where everybody thinks he's getting much more like the Wayne Rooney we know. And I'm looking forward to making that happen,"

" I've been fortunate, I've known Wayne since he was 16 [when Moyes managed him at Everton]. It is a little bit of déja vu, it's a similar sort of feeling. I've had several meetings with Wayne, he's training brilliantly well, he's come back in good shape and I really look forward to working with him."

"It [is] interesting to think that actually Wayne is only 40 goals behind Bobby Charlton or 50, and I think 40 behind Denis Law [he has 237]. I think if I was Wayne, you would look at the legends who have played at this club. You see their pictures – George Best, Bobby Charlton, Roy Keane, I could go on. And I thought to myself, 'Wayne isn't far away from that.' It isn't too difficult to get the goals and if he could do that, he would be seen in the same light as many of those people."

"I can tell you categorically that Wayne Rooney is training fantastically well in the last two days. "

    .
    - Post-injury quote:

"He has started light jogging, and the feedback from the physios is that he is progressing - so hopefully those dates will still be right when we get back." - 23-07-13 (7 days ago)
    .

    - Official United tweet: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/multimedia/archive/00434/rooney_434683c.jpg

    .
    Conclusion: Get him.

Grateful for any thoughts on this first draft:

    Mignolet (Boruc)

    Ivanovic Toure Rat (Coleman Clyne/Shaw)

Hazard (c) Chadli Coutinho Nolan (Schneiderlin)

    Lukaku Benteke Giroud

Would it look better with Coutinho + Giroud -> Walcott + Aspas (for first few weeks)?

I know it's doubled up on Pool and Saints defence, but this worked quite well with Pool last season - Anyone else think Saints look like a risk worth taking, at least over initial home games?

Chadli is a bit of a punt but could be good, especially if Bale leaves. Anyone think he will get much game time in early gameweeks if Bale remains? - his projections on members pages don't give much encouragement - though while on the subject I'm sure I'm not the only one that has noticed the price he's given there is £1.5m lower than in the FPL game.

    Thanks

Spurs should try and get 50mil plus Di Maria and Coentrao

Then spend the 50mil on Soldado and Eriksen

Anybody think this is a better deal?

They could definitely do with Coentrao at LB. I'm not sure Di Maria would survive in the Premier League though. Very talented but he's always seemed a bit fragile to me.

Few RMT/Projection updates tonight for those tinkering. Koren/Brady rebalanced for Hull with Brady slightly boosted. Negredo/Jovetic tweaked for City with Negredo slightly boosted for minutes etc. Nastasic injury doubt added for Gameweek 1 - this could be extended further when we have further word on the severity - Lescott boosted for GW1, currently.

As a Utd fan I believe we won't get Fabregas or Modric but will get Fellaini

So if Real get Bale then we should try for Di Maria

Would like the look of this:

    De Gea

    Rafael Jones Vidic Evra

    Carrick Fellaini

    Di Maria Kagawa Rooney

    Van Persie

Not sure he would buy Di Maria. If his time at Everton is anything to go by he likes his attacking mids to player narrow (wenger-style) and the full backs provide the width.
