No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

    Anyone looking for a route into the Sunderland defence, Celustka is your man. £4.5m and will be nailed on a RB as no competition. Also Di Canio has stated he wants his fullbacks playing like wingers when we're going forward, so decent chance of attacking returns too.

    was at a non-hectic pre-wedding party tonight, and am slightly drunk. the wedding tomorrow means i'll be very drunk, and saturday morning is potentially a complete right off. so do i ;

    a - make final decisions now and not log in again, hoping for the best
    b - have a look tomorrow evening, armed with more info, but a bit worse for wear and liable to make bad calls
    c- gamble on waking up saturday morning pre deadline with internet access

      My general strategy is to have a pretty good team in place on Thursday night. Then on Friday night I get too drunk, stay up until 3:00 a.m. and pick some highly touted, underrated sure thing midfielder who proves to be a disaster. James McLean and Martin Petrov come to mind.

    RE Man City strikers, first 3 GW's.

    Negredo or Dzeko?

    Will they start together till Aguero is back? Or if 1 of the 2, which or will it swap even in the first 3 weeks?

    So much points potential but it's clearly a risk

        True points, I'm just worried because Negredo is the guy Pellegrini bought and he cost 24mil so maybe he kinda 'has' to start, though this is City.

        I know he talked about Dzeko but I feel this was more just to keep on his good side and keep him from leaving

            We're running it from a spreadsheet with FPL scoring, but with a system we like which means there are no captains and you get your highest 11 scorers out of your 15 players each gameweek. So there is some more work but the benefits are nice too.

            Means some players you can't really pick because of rotation become good options

    Coleman and Jedinak or Turner (Nor) and Kim?

    Cheap mid will always be on the bench, defender will be rotated with Clyne, Collins and Amorebieta for 2 spots (if Coleman he'll play more weeks).

    Bit lost on what to do with the team, have 4m in the bank which I want to leave for Lampard>Bale GW2 but as that may not be an option I'm wondering if I should just spend it on the team:

    Migs, Lewis
    Toure, Collins, Murner, Shaw, Chester
    Hazard, Walcott, Lampard, Mirallas, Barkley
    Soldado, Lukaku, Bony

    While the defence is cheap I'm satisfied with it but with the injury doubts over Collins/Shaw I'm contemplating whacking Baines in there. Lack of City/Liverpool attack is also a concern but then if I spread the 4m between say, Silva and Sturridge, then it becomes very difficult to Bale/RVP in.

    Any thoughts appreciated

      I like the double pool defense. Lampard seems like a fair punt. I'd consider upgrading Collins to Che defender for the DGW, then downgrade to Collins, if fit, or another starting 4.5 defender.

      Can't predict the future, but i'd say it's more safe than risky. Lots will be taking hits afterwards imo, and it won't be for just DGW players.. could be for defenders they've chosen who don't start, so i wouldn't worry about spending points to get rid after.
