No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

It’s good to be back.

Eavesdrop on the conversation via this link or earwig via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

RMD please, because I can't stop messing with it:

    Westwood (Boruc)
    Toure/Koscielny/Ivanovic (Turner, Yanga-Mbiwa)

And yes, I'm aware there's a good chance that Westwood won't start. That said, Boruc will step in quite nicely.

The only annoying portion is that I'm tempted to swap Ivanovic for a Man City defender...and I would be hesitant to swap before they play Monday.

I guarantee that if I swapped on Saturday night, Zabaleta would lose a leg come Monday :(.

Speaking of player values dropping, has anyone checked out FISO lately? They seemed really inconsistent last year. I know the first few weeks are needed to establish the pattern, but they seemd iffy all the way through.

Lads hello again! Excited for a new year, after bout 4 hours of deliberation checking gk rotations def rotations and everything else I think i have settled on my team.

    Mig/Boruc
    Shaw Dawson Mbiwa Rat Brayford
Mirallas Walcott Hazard Silva Morrison (purely as a punt if he starts)
Soldado Sturridge Lukaku (changed to Giroud in GW 2)

    What u think

Mig and boruc rotate the best, and all defs sync nicely. Gonna try hang on without Rvp for 3 or 4 weeks.

Its true. Cardiff face nice opponents when Migs has tough games. I've gone for Lewis(4m) who is the backup Cardiff keeper for this very reason. I'm hoping he might win a starting spot in time for Liverpools tough fixtures.

This is proving to be my most difficult decision, best 4.5 mid option?

I've considered Lucas because consistent 2pts with chance of 3 if Liverpool keep a CS but it takes up a Liverpool slot in my team.

Livermore should be nailed but plays pretty deep if I'm correct?

R.Morrison was exciting in preseason but don't think he's going to get into the XI, don't wanna rely on sub 1 pt apps

    So, which way to go?

    1) Santi-Hazard-Ruiz
    2) Mata-Walcott-Rodriguez
    3) Silva-Coutinho-Van Wolfs.

currently i have Santi-Hazard-Ruiz, but the Costarican isn't that trustful i think. Other 2 forwards are Weimann and RVP.

OK, so with the news that Aspas may be shifted wide and Sturridge back, I adjusted my team some... could you pleas give me some feedback? Thanks.

    Mignolet / Marshall
Zabaleta Turner Brayford Chester Parr (is he injured or something?)
Hazard Walcott (what's the deal with his 75% change of playing??) Coutinho Michu Kim
    Benteke Giroud Lukaku

Benteke and Lukaku would go in GW2 and 3 for the likes of either Sturridge, Soldado, maybe a City attacker if one starts looking nailed on and in form, or maybe Bony...

Brayford apparently less nailed on than previously believed. Same may be the case with Chester.

Parr has been reported to be "not match fit"—Ward allegedly the better option from Palace.

Walcott took a knock in training, played wonderfully yesterday, then his knee swelled up a bit and he came off limping. He wants to play this weekend. I suspect he will.

Yep. I also think in a double like this where so few players are nailed on for 180 mins, we might as well pick the kind of players that we wouldn't risk in a normal gameweek due to concern over gametime, but know are consistent and carry an attacking threat.

It's perhaps one of the few times Lampard will be a viable option this season.

Anyone struggling for a non RVP side? I have the answer:

    Mignolet (Davis)
    Mertesacker, Coleman, Cole, (Chester), (Brayford)
    Walcott, Hazard, Mirallas, Couthino, (Kim)
    Soldado, Dzeko, Lukaku (C)

2 goals for Lukaku vs Hull, racking up the points as captain. Dzeko starts against Cardiff and bangs a goal or two in. Soldado a lock for the season and sure to get 15+ goals. Solid midfield. Good mix of teams. Decent goalkeeper that doesn't have to be rotated. DONE.

The quality of players you get from choosing a cheap 5mil midfielder over a 4.5mil one isn't worth the extra .5 in my humble opinion...so I'd rather gamble on a flair 4.5 until we can clearly see who this seasons "Sterling" is.

Nice team. A bit too heavy on defence for my liking, but that is more personal preference than anything.
I'm not convinced about Benteke, but I can see the logic in it.
why not swap Marshall to a 4.0? Would leave more wiggle room for upgrades or bandwagon-jumping next week.

I think it's more than personal preference, it makes more sense to spend money on players who are more likely to return points.

Marshall is a bit of a safety thing though. If Mignolet gets injured (it's a big IF) or is playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, well, it's nice to have a backup or avoid spending a transfer on a GK...
