No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

      I like them. I think Benteke later on down the line too. Only thing is you've got two strikers new to the league, but on paper they look solid.

      you didn't get relegated from EPL mate. it's just the way the allocation process worked out. all of your team preferences were taken and all of the EPL teams were taken up with people's first choices. as you can see the EPL was a very difficult league to get into.

      and La Liga is going to be a quality league! just look at people we've got top to bottom, all great posters. and Isacki might treat us to some La Liga Valor Awards :D.

      I like it, really similar to mine but I skimped on defense a bit more and have Bentikkers inatead of boney.. I like boney though but think I might get Michu instead

      vorm for the extra 0.5mil (Boruc,4.5m). waste of money imo. i like the Dawson in def tho, i think Spurs is solid at the back this coming season. with the addition of Capoue and Paulinho . . they can pretty cover the backline if the CB's are caught out of position.

      wouldn't do Bony tho and change the (C) to Hazard.

      I like everything but Negredo.

      Why spend £9.5m on a City striker who may start and play 75 minutes or may come off the bench and play for 6 minutes, when you can spend £7.5m on a City striker who may start and play 75 minutes or may come off the bench and play for 6 minutes?

      (Ultimately he might be a great buy, but I wouldn't make that call until Pellegrini's intentions become clear.)

    DGW are essential to success! Last year was a perfect example. More often than not, they pay handsomely. Last season arguably all were a success (at least 3.5 out of 4)

    GW1 was lucrative (CHE/RDG... Haz/Ivan/Torres/Lampard)
    GW 18ish (SUN/RDG....if you (C) Sess you were golden
    GW 22 (ARS/SOT....Theo/Podolski/Ricky Lamber all did the business.
    GW 35ish (FA cup replays....played my WC which catapulted me to 227 in the world)

    I myself will have 3 CHE and Benteke (at risk of passing on the beloved RVP for GW1)

    I do admit that there might be significant rotation this DGW1 but it is a risk i am willing to take.

        Benteke might fail....however they guy scored 19G last year! on penos and is involved in most goals they score.

        I look at it like this.....he is pretty much guaranteed 4 points (2+2) so a hit to get him out will cost 2pts.....also will allow for the dust to settle @ city. He is not my captain. Arsenal midfield in shambles with injury.

          Your formula does not consider any points that you would miss out on had you gone for a more sensible (odds-on) choice 😉

          Why not get Sturridge or Soldado? Sturridge could really destroy Stoke.
          3 DGW'ers should be the limit imo, any more than that is getting your hand stuck in the cookie jar.

              It could pay handsomely. But it could also be ordinary and have the downside of requiring hits. It has been said before bur bears repeating: if you want to win the lottery, it helps to buy more tickets.
              Have you considered that you'd DGW experience from last year was an aberration? For me, the last few dgws were really good, but some of the earlier ones were complete misses. I'm telling myself that I sas not paying as much attention early in the season, but it could also be some dumb luck.

    I think Mannone will start most games. Why would he go from Arsenal bench warmer to Sunderland bench warmer? PDC must have given him game time assurances.

      Evidently a broken toe. Even if they do pump his foot full of cortisone and usher him onto the pitch, I could see that kind of injury negatively impacting his performance. So he's out of my team for now, but may be swapping him for Hazard before GW3 if his situation improves.

      fixture and squad strenght id go for Dzeko. he's in some form too.

      my personal choice would be Lambert tho, just couldn't afford to handle the uncertainties at the start of season ..

          Reither is still worth the extra 0.5 imo if you can squeeze him in. But then again, the Fulham defence has been a joke in the past 6 months

    Sturridge and Coutinho too much Liverpool coverage? Was thinking of picking Kagawa over Sturridge. He is a better player after all and a bigger goal threat. Cant see him sitting on the bench this season again

    To get RVP I'll downgrade the Chelsea mids to a couple of the 6.5-7.0 bargains and upgrade Sturridge/Soldado.

    If Bale stays I'll probably get him instead of RVP, which would only use up 2 transfers.
