Heading into the home game against Stoke, Philippe Coutinho was one of the most popular picks around. Second only to Eden Hazard in terms of midfield ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), the Liverpool winger was heavily backed to run riot against the Potters after a thrilling first few months on Merseyside last time round.

Unfortunately for his Fantasy owners, Coutinho returned a blank while Iago Aspas and Daniel Sturridge picked up the points after combining for the Reds’ match-winner. As we edge ever-closer to the weekend’s fixtures, we take a look back at the Brazilian’s display against Mark Hughes’ side and assess the underlying data in our first Monitor article of the new season.

      Interesting thought. I can't get over the fact that Lukaku was clearly a better striker last year at WBA than either Torres and Ba, and can't get a start. It's not like they are playing in a new league and Lukaku needs to prove himself; he did that last year

    It doesn´t matter what mourinho´s says. He´s never been much fond of rotation. At inter and Real MAdrid he always started the strongest 11 with maybe a couple of changes. Even in tournaments like Copa del Rey.

    Besides the number 9 spot, I don´t expect that much rotation when everyone is fit.
