Heading into the home game against Stoke, Philippe Coutinho was one of the most popular picks around. Second only to Eden Hazard in terms of midfield ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), the Liverpool winger was heavily backed to run riot against the Potters after a thrilling first few months on Merseyside last time round.

Unfortunately for his Fantasy owners, Coutinho returned a blank while Iago Aspas and Daniel Sturridge picked up the points after combining for the Reds’ match-winner. As we edge ever-closer to the weekend’s fixtures, we take a look back at the Brazilian’s display against Mark Hughes’ side and assess the underlying data in our first Monitor article of the new season.

    I still trust that Lukaku can come off the bench and score. he was close in 15 minutes and tonight he is likely to get more than that.

    Lukaku - rotation
    Dzeko - rotation
    RVW - 12 touches in 90 mins
    Berbatov - very streaky and Bent arriving
    Giroud - he's Giroud
    Soldado - only scored peno's, Willian arriving
    Sturridge - Suarez back in a bit, probably best so far
    Lambert - only scored a peno and baaad team
    Jelavic- maybe, quiet for too long
    Bony - didnt start, may be ok, still risky
    Benteke - also only scored penos but at least he's a beast.

    Conclusion:
    RVP is actually priceless 😯

    Is it to much of a knee jerk to go terry/haz/lubenchu to shaw/j.cole/rvp (-8)? Made the shaw transfer last night and can make the other transfers tonight.

    No chance tomorrow with expected price changes.

    This of course will change if mr.bench doesn't comeback on and score a brace or better within the next few hours.
