As another Gameweek edges towards its conclusion, we handpick the standout statistics over Saturday and Sunday’s nine Premier League fixtures. Andre Villas-Boas’ shift to 4-3-3 brings a Tottenham new boy onto our radar, a certain Saints frontman catches our attention, City’s midfield schemer offers goal promise, while a trio of Everton’s assets also make the cut:
Lampard and RVP to score tonight for sure!
Open Controls"Interesting" stats that you fantasy football experts are probably aware of anyway! Most interesting ones (to me) are in caps.
So far then.....
Total shots (including blocked shots):
Lambert - 11
DZEKO - 10
BARKLEY - 9
Benteke - 8
PAULINHO - 8
Giroud - 8
Lampard 8
BEN ARFA - 8
van Persie - 7
WHITTINGHAM - 7
Total crosses:
WARD-PROWSE - 28 😯 (Hmmmmmm)
Baines - 26
Shelvey 15
Elmohamady - 15
WALCOTT - 15
Gerrard - 15
Navas - 15
Dorrans - 14
Westwood - 14
Adam Johnson - 14
Key passes:
CHADLI - 9
Hazard - 9
BAINES - 8 (Brilliant for a defender, combined with the amount of crosses)
BENTEKE - 8 (Everything good going through the big man for Villa)
Walcott - 7
Cazorla - 7
WARD-PROWSE - 7 (Whats this kids delivery like, is he finding a man, or just wild?)
MARVEAUX - 7 (7 key passes and only played 66 minutes vs. West Ham, didnt play any part vs. Man City)
ETHERINGTON - 6
Coutinho - 6
Random Note: Aaron Ramsey is third in the league for total passes with 174. Behind only Yaya Toure (207) and Ramires (177). Ramsey is ahead of Gerrard who is on 157. (Ramsey on the ball a lot for Arsenal? Question is? Where about's on the pitch?)
1 more random note: Asmir Begovic has made more saves (14) than any other keeper in the league so far. Ben Foster is next with 9 saves. (Stoke leaky at the back?)Open ControlsVery interesting. Is Ward-Prowse going to play most games? If so, he has to be strongly considered for my team.
Open ControlsLambert will be getting a 100 goals this season. 😆
He might be crossing a lot, but his delivery might be crap!?!
Has anybody scouted this kid, whats his crossing like? Or is it just poor finishing?
Interesting that Lambert has had the most shots and Ward-Prowse the most crosses.
Coincidence?Open Controls
Interesting indeed.Nice one
Open ControlsWard-Prowse will be my retrospective 4.5m transfer this week. Looks really good.
For some reason I chose Grandin! 😯 Christ knows why...Open ControlsI know its not related to any of this, but I'm also keeping a close eye on Andros Townsend.
He looks dangerous on the ball, draws fouls in the box, rarely loses the ball, can score and assist.
Someone said on here a few days ago, after the impressive Europa game, that he recorded the most ever successful dribbles in a game, was it vs. Wigan?Open ControlsNice. Good Paulinho and Ben Arfa shouts.
Ramsey is playing as a box-to-box CM, actually doing a Wilshere like job and very well too.Open ControlsLast game:
--------------------------Giroud-------Walcott
---------------Pod------Cazorla
------------------Ramsey RosickyOpen Controls
might want to change the shots stat to shots on target
Ben Arfa is not rating in my book for kicking the ball over the net repeatedly from long distance - your grav could do thatOpen Controls
Silva > Hazard for a hit done.
At the very least I expect to recoup 3 of those 4 points......Open ControlsHazard > Silva obviously......:) 🙂
Open Controlslive up to your nickname
Open ControlsFumble fingers.....
Open Controls
I'd be worried for a -4.
Hull look decent at the back. Silva could blank. Stranger things have happened.
You need SIlva to do something to justify the -4.Open ControlsHis fixtures going forwards are nice.
Open Controls
Before the game?! What if RVP goes off injured? Hope he won't, obviously...
Open Controls
are people getting rid of their Che defender or midfielder this week?
i.e. Ivan or Hazard for meOpen ControlsDef
Open ControlsDowngrading both in order to bring in RVP next week
Open ControlsNo
Open Controls
Any better ideas than transferring out Hazard for Nolan this week?
I can then bench Turner.
Gives me 2.4m in the bank.
I can swap Lambert to Benteke. Is this a good idea? I am unsure.
Mignolet
Coleman, Shaw, Collins, Turner
Walcott, Mirallas, Kim
RVP, Soldado, Lambert
Harper, Toure, Brady, Hazard
Many thanks.Open ControlsHazard > ?
I already have Silva, slightly stumped.Open ControlsOnly 5.5 hours to enter Last Man Standing.
63 or more in GW1 qualifies. Code is 58-324.
830 qualified so far. Lowest 40 odd gameweek scores after hits get knocked out.Open ControlsCheers mate, just joined 🙂
Open ControlsWhat's the mark, this week?
Open Controlsit says invalid league code. I got 92 in GW1...
Open Controls
Any chance of chamakh being on pens ?
Open ControlsHi guys. I wonder can anyone help?
I'm interested in Moxey (as part of my RVP GW4 plan).
Does anyone know if that Parr fella is a CB or a FB and will he replace anyone when he comes back?
The current Palace back 4 is Moxey, Ward, Delaney, Gabbidon.
Many thanks.Open ControlsParr & Moxey fighting for same spot I think.
Open ControlsDamn. Thanks TM. Moxey's stats are better than the other 3 so far.
I'll go for one of the other ones.Open Controls
Just get Ward, nailed on and no competition. But Moxey looks good getting forward.
Open ControlsWard it will be, cheers Aqua.
Open Controls
It would seem the commonly accepted practice of avoiding hits for a defender or goalkeeper may be less of a heinous crime than in previous seasons. Discuss?.......... Says he after taking 1st hit to acquire Mignolet 😀
Open ControlsIt's a bit more acceptable at this early stage. We all make mistakes with our GW1 squads so the odd hit is ok, both for team value and fixing mistakes.
Open ControlsTook an 8pointer on Terry, Hazard & Lukaku > Coleman, Silva, Sturridge. So far so good, don't screw me over Mourinho!
Open ControlsOh, that's nice!
My (-4) worked too. Koscielny -> Chester, Lukaku -> SoldadoOpen ControlsTransfer five!
Do think I have learnt from the last two seasons. Touch wood. Sort your team out early. 8 points is a negligible price to pay for setting yourself up well for the season.
I hate carrying deadwood in my team and planning ahead on how to get rid of it, in my experience the plans never happen as reality intervenes.Open Controls
Also 8 pointer
Terry, Hazard, Lukaku -> Coleman, Silva, RvP(c)Open ControlsNice. Sold the same three. And not having to be afraid of RVP tonight.
Open Controls
Taking hits to trade Hazard could really hurt, he is a quality after all, could have big haul today...
Open Controls
do spurs realise your only allowed 11 on the pitch ? just wondering.....
Open Controlsdo you mean chelsea?
Open Controls
If Fellaini joins United, Barkley will nailed on?
Open Controlsyou would think they would seek to replace him.
Open ControlsHe's not gonna join United.
Open Controlshe is the one moyes wants most. think it will happen.
Open Controls
Fellaini is currently playing at CM in the 4-2-3-1 so if he left Gibson could slot in there and Barkley could keep playing CAM. It could make him first choice, not necessarily nailed on. If they sign anyone decent that weakens.
Open ControlsI don't see how he can drop Barkley. He has been the stand out midfielder in our first two games.
Open Controls
Morning chaps...
Seems to be some serious love for Silva on here... I'm stuck on what transfer(s) to make this week...
To RVP or not to RVP?
Migs Lewis
Coleman Collins Yanga Murner Ward
Haz Wally Cout Mirallas Williams
Benteke Soldado Dzeko
A) Haz > Silva
B) Haz > Brady, Dzeko > RVP (-4)
B gives me a solid captaincy option week in week outOpen ControlsHaz > Brady this week, Dzeko > RVP next?
Open ControlsB). Did I say B)? B), then!
Open ControlsI'm RVPing for GW4. It's taken me til today to decide to do it. Will only be a -4 for me.
So, saying that ; do BOpen ControlsWe have the same front seven. I have the same dilemma.
Dzeko > RVP would give u an amazing frontline.
Silva could do well this week though. Has looked impressive.Open Controls
brady and a 4.4
OR
barkley and kasami
please answer based on playing prospects and value rise potentialOpen ControlsThe only 4.4 Mid that looks "ok" is morrison (WHU)... But i feel it's still better than Barkley Kasami who will both lose their place to Gibson / Bent (Ruiz)
Open Controls
Already Have Aguero n Lescott... Is it necessary to do coutinho > Silva on my FT? Coutinho looked like a gost this week and Silva might really kill it.. no?
Open Controls4Vets you there?
Open ControlsMy proposed moves this week:
Mirallas to Paulinho(Fixtures and Form)
Schneiderlin to Ward-Prowse(FORM!)
Ivanovic to Vertonghen(Fixtures and Bonus)
My team will then be more or less right. 🙂Open ControlsNone are worth hits.
Open ControlsI like the 2nd and 3rd transfers. Getting rid of Mirallas before a game against a promoted team for a hit is asking for trouble.
Open ControlsI know. He has had 6 attempts, only 2 on target. This is the weakest transfer, but he is taking the piss.
Open Controls
I can see the benefits of each. But (-8) is just too much!
Open ControlsLast two look a bit sideways for hits. But, if you want to get your team how you want it, might be worth it.
Open ControlsSchneiderlin was subbed at 45. Helluva shock. ðŸ™
Ivanovic not playing.Open Controls
Paulinho Yes.. He was good yesterday..
Ward Prose why not.. but only 18.. not sure worth a hit..
Ivan to vert This week? Against Arsenal?Open ControlsOf course. He will be my luxury back. 🙂
(I have Walcott too ... 😉 )Open Controls
Vert looks a good pick but a bit pricy. Would Walker do instead? Personally I'm waiting on Mirallas, think he will come good yet! Saying that I haven't been following Paulinho's fortunes so you may still be onto something there.
Open ControlsWalker flatters to deceive.
Mirallas's fixtures: CHE -21 whm -19 NEW 103 mci -267Open ControlsAh but he's got some decent fixtures on the horizon too. I'll see how he gets on, anyway. I mention Walker because ITWT was tipping him - wonder if he got him in? But like I say Vert looks a solid pick - if you can afford, go for it!
Open ControlsI am Spending like Madrid on my defence, and like Levy on my midfield ... 😉
Open Controls
Isacki, where are the goals?
Open ControlsMoyes: "I don’t know about my record against Jose but someone told me it was pretty good."
As EFC boss vs Mourinho: P8 W0 L5 D3 all competitions
Chelsea 21/10 looks good odds to me.Open ControlsRepost of something I did on Friday:
Rate My Team review.
So for those of you who haven't paid for membership - perhaps this post will help you decide to buy, or make you glad you didn't. Similarly for those that have paid - this could help you assess how much faith you should put in the RMT data.
So last week I started building a team based purely on RMT data - no human interventions, just pure numbers. I went with the all-out GW1 strat as I wanted to work with as much known data as possible (specifically the DGW). So the selected team last week was:
Guzan (4)
Ivanovic/Jose Enrique/Johnson (4+4)
Mata/Walcott/Santi/Hazard(c) (4.5)
Anelka/Benteke/Weimann
The subs didn't matter as they weren't expected to play anyway and I selected the highest expected GW1 score amongst them.
The team got 79 points - above average, but a bit away from the top.
In hindsight there are few things we can say about the team, but the clear mistakes were Mata and Santi - both were expensive mids that flopped, and human intervention could probably have cleared them due to the Spanish international.
Guzan scored a bit lower than expected, but I don't think anyone could honestly say that for 5m or less they would've picked McGregor, Stekelenburg or Boruc to outscore him.
RMT did well on defence - picking the top scoring defender and collecting 2 CS's and 2 BP's from the 2 Liverpool defenders. Coleman I don't think anyone with a 1 week view would've picked.
Midfield was a disaster. I think there were a few solid picks that were missed, Nolan and Oscar being the most notable. Silva at home was also a big one. Getting these over Mata/Santi would've given space to improve Anelka - most likely to Lambert/Lukaku (or Weimann to Agbonlahor). I think most people rated Coutinho and so did the model - this would've probably been the number one replacement for either of the two Spainards. Walcott under-performed not only the model, but also everyone else's expectations.
The only poor performer up top was Anelka, and so the model I think did well - even though Benteke did a lot to carry the team's performance.
Combining RMT with human intervention, would likely have seen Coutinho and Silva come in for Mata/Santi with Lukaku coming in for Anelka. This would have resulted in a net improvement of 12 points.
So for those interested in what the model is predicting going forward:
after playing the wildcard immediately, creating the team to avoid any price jumps and re-creating lead to this team:
Boruc/Speroni
Zabaleta/Walker/Figueroa/Collins/Ward
Gerrard/Coutinho/Walcott/Brady/Jedinak
RvP/Sturridge/Crouch
(the team managed to hold Zabaleta early in the week and avoided missing the 0.1 rise)
Calculations are only done with a 6 week view, so the GK rotation may not work out long-term.
================================
Current GW2 analysis (short version):
50 points with RvP captain to go.
Zab/Cout/Gerrard/Crouch are the bad calls for this week.
Current predictions appear to be to bring JoseEnrique in for Zabaleta - I am going to hold on til Friday with updated data before doing any final adjustmentsOpen ControlsI read it, quite interesting!
Open Controls
I am not a big fan of this feature. For example, you wouldn't touch Dzeko with a barge pole based on RMT but a human being could see that he was a good player to have.
Open ControlsHow sure are you of Dzeko's starts this weekend? Or next? There's a 16m forward on the bench waiting to take his spot.
I'm not arguing that there's a human element that needs to be considered, and you're free to 'override' the RMT values all you want.
But overall it's interesting to see how good it actually is, and so far it seems pretty decent.Open ControlsCommon sense > RMT
Open Controls
If you make two subs and take a hit, then decide to WC within the same GW, do you still lose that 4 points?
Open ControlsNope, that's fine. wildcard then covers those transfers.
Open ControlsNo, all free.
Open ControlsThanks guys. Covers my just-done rash Hazard to Silva transfer for a hit if RVP gets crocked tonight.......will have to WC if he does come a cropper, but I suspect a few would if that happens....
Open Controls
Boruc / Mannone
Terry / Turner / Ward / Toure / Brayford
Silva / Walcott / Coutinho / Mirallas / Cabral
Van Persie / Anelka / Lambert
1 FT, £0.9m in the bank.
Counting down the days till I can use my international break wildcard, until then I need to try and do something. Dreadful start to the season. Main issues right now are Anelka, Cabral and Brayford all not getting games. Other issues are Coutinho and Mirallas doing feck all.
Any thoughts? Anelka > F Campbell maybe?Open ControlsHow is Paulinho's form better than Mirallas? Both have blanked twice in an attacking sense...
Open ControlsBased on how he is playing rather than just actual FPL points.
Open ControlsHaha who'd have thought?
Open Controls
You do realize that football is an actual sport, not just a game played by actors to supply a means for our fantasy needs?
Hate when people can't understand that a player can play well without scoring points in FPL.
Paulinho threatened the goal several times yesterdayOpen Controls

Is that how you link a stat table ?Open ControlsLooks good, nice table.
Open ControlsYes, surprising. Haven't even watched the obvious one play in my team. Still doing the business.

Open Controls
No, but just got quite a big arse. A lot of these Latina women fill out in that area around a certain age.
Open Controls
Leroy Fer seems good value at 6.0m. Played in the hole against Hull and almost scored.
Open ControlsCheers, TM™! 🙂
Open ControlsWho would you captain and Vice captain out of this lot in GW3 ?
Foster
Turner, Coleman, Collins
Yaya Toure, Mirallas,, Coutinho, Walcott
Soldado, Lambert, Giroud
Thanks for any suggestions !Open ControlsWalcott (c)
Soldado (VC). Of course he'll then get a pen.....Open Controls
Not sure if Mannone owners realize, but based on TotalFPL, it looks like a price drop is coming soon. I had planned to rotate him with Boruc, but Westwood seems to be the first choice Sunderland GK. I don't want to lose value and I prefer the fixture next week for Sunderland (Away to CRY), so I made the most boring transfer this week.
Mannone to Westwood.
The prices seem very volatile this year - much more than previous years. I don't want to be 0.1 short of making the team I want, and felt that this justified my transfer this week.Open ControlsHmm I got a horrible feeling they will swap soon. Think I would have looked for a more secure 4.5 if I were you
Open ControlsIf that happens, I will just need to play Boruc each week til I use my WC. It would be really annoying, but not the worst outcome. I was otherwise planning to move Hazard next week, but I decided to just bench him this week as I will probably want him after the blank anyway.
