Following City’s stuttering victory over Hull, there are four three o’clock kick-offs to help pick up the momentum, before Crystal Palace host Sunderland in the tea-time encounter.

This afternoon’s matches aren’t exactly bristling with Fantasy potential, although Everton’s trip to Cardiff will be of key interest given the ownership of Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman and this week’s speeding bandwagon, Frazier Campbell.

Not surprisingly, after the victory over City, Cardiff boss, Malky Mackay keeps an unchanged lineup. Roberto Martinez starts with both Baines and Marouane Fellaini, despite speculation on their future at the club, as the Toffees also field an unchanged side to the one that drew 0-0 with West Brom last time out.

Up at St James’ Park, Alan Pardew is able to call upon Johan Cabaye for the clash with Fulham, although the Frenchman only makes the bench following his in-house dispute with the club. The Magpies are otherwise unchanged. Martin Jol makes several tweaks to his visiting Fulham lineup as Bryan Ruiz, Darren Bent and Alex Kacaniklic all earn starts; Damien Duff, Adel Taarabt and Pajtim Kasami are the trio to drop out.

Chris Hughton makes three changes to his Canaries teamsheet for the visit of Southampton to Carrow Road. Seb Bassong and Robert Snodgrass return as expected, while Johan Elmander makes his full debut having notched twice in the midweek Capital One Cup tie. Significantly, Steven Whittaker keeps his place at right-back, as club captain, Russell Martin is the man to drop out. Alex Tettey and Jonny Howson are the other pair to make way. The Saints give Pablo Osvaldo his first start with Jay Rodriguez making way to the bench. Luke Shaw is seemingly only fit enough for a subs role as Danny Fox starts at left-back, while Calum Chambers is again preferred at right-back to Nathaniel Clyne.

Finally, West Ham are another side left untouched. Sam Allardyce keeps faith with the men that earned him a point at Newcastle as the Hammers take on Stoke at Upton Park. Mark Huhges rewards Kenwyne Jones for his midweek hat-trick with a start up front. That’s the only change to the Potters lineup that ran out 2-1 winners over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom remains open throughout these matches and into this evening’s clash at Selhurst Park.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I know that, but if there's one match he'll start, that would be against CP.

Too short term maybe, but this week (gw4) i think he could come good.

Would be fairly happy downgrading Dawson and just leaving some money in the bank actually. Or Sturridge to Rooney.

Seriously contemplating hitting the button. All the bonus points are being allocated to the defenders. Just need to decide whether all these cleanies are flukey or not. Last 2 years they have been so scarce.

Didn't see the game to be honest but I'm happy enough. Not often a maverick captain choice comes off like that!

Of course, RVP could score a hat-trick and it'll be the wrong choice. 🙂

Sadly, the lowest I've ever seen a defender is 3.7m

On that note, lowest keeper I've seen was 3.7, midfielder was 4.1 and striker was 4.1. In fact, I think Newcastles Ferguson was priced at 4m a few years back. The only midfielder in the whole game to be that price. Needless to say he was mass owned and mass dropped. Think he dropped to 3.9!

what a cluster feck of a gw!

the key in a bad gw like this is to not knee jerk! don't make unnecessary moves, take unnecessary hits, or activate your wc when you don't need to!

most of us had a poor gw so we're all in the same boat. and sometimes it's just a matter of patience with some of these players. odds are, some of the players you knee jerk out could come back to haunt you in the next week or two

fair enough. but if you want to wc just because of a poor gw with most/all of your players starting (besides those with a blank) you're making a mistake.

however injuries and not nailed on players are a different story

I had Foster injured, doubts Toure and the non-starting Brayford & Ravel.

Then when you factor in the poor form of Mirallas it all leads you to a WC.

    Thoughts on WC'ing this team?

    Foster - Boruc
    Coleman - Reid - Kosc - Clyne - Chester
    Silva - Wally - Mirallas - Coutinho - Williams
    Benteke - RvW - Soldado

Would end up with (depending on Lamela's price and if he's a mid)
    Migs - 4.0
    Coleman - Reid / Collins - Nasty - Vidic - Chester
    Silva / Hazard - Wally - Lamela -5.0 - 5.0 (rotating pair)
    Benteke - Sturridge - Soldado

don't wc and I would keep Toure for now , just Dzeko to Benteke would do it.

    Worth a WC here?

    Boruc (Migs)
    Coleman Turner Chester (Toure Ivanovic)
    Walcott Snodgrass Kim Mirallas (Tiote)
    Soldado Giroud Dzeko

    6.1 in the bank

    ----

My plan was to transfer in RvP for one between Giroud and Soldado along with a -4 to fix Dzeko or Mirallas, but all these talks about WCing are tempting me to bring in Vidic, HBA, Sturridge and RvP in place of Toure, Ivanovic, Dzeko, Tiote etc

    What do you think?

city got a very lucky CS, and suddenly Zabeleta (C) is a master-stroke.

    I don't see how. It is a lucky (C) working out, not a master-stroke

I think Eriksen will need some time to get used to the intensity of the Premier League. Lamela looks promising though

Nah, Just do Mirallas and Dzeko to Benteke and JWP.

I would if you want RVP, however.
