Last week we updated the Fantasy Football Scout “Hall of Fame” or “HoF”. You can access this via the HOF tab at the top of the site or via this page.

The Hall of Fame is a ranking system which we apply to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. In a nutshell it tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly.

The “HoF Rating” is based on points scores from previous FPL campaigns, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous year. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2013/13 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Rating” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allocate managers a rank alongside the veterans of the FPL. It’s not a guaranteed way of identifying the best FPL managers in the Fantasy Football Scout Leagues, but we think it’s pretty good at identifying those who have displayed good consistency.

We generate two separate tables in the Hall of Fame. The “Career” table that updates every year and a “Live” table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek. Everyone can see the “Career” table via the link but Fantasy Football Scout members also get to see a live table via the Members Area which inludes current 2013/14 points totals in the table and takes these into account when calculating the HoF rating. This can be more than a little bit helpful and reassuring in that, using the team ids in the table, you can examine the squads and transfer activity of some of the top FPL managers.

For example, Career Hall of Fame leader, Ulrik Nylund is clearly a hugely successful FPL boss, having masterminded three top 200 finishes in six seasons. Indeed, Ulrik is yet to finish outside of the top 8000 in any of those seasons – an incredible level consistency. Interestingly, however, he’s currently sitting on 179 points and is ranked just inside the top 300,000. Having said that, his wildcard is currently active, perhaps reflecting his start to the campaign.

If you want to get yourself in the Hall of Fame, simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (1580-1106), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area. You will be entered and visible on the table once the next Gameweek deadline passes and FPL leagues are updated.

For more information on how the Hall of Fame works, view the movie below in which I talk through the tables with its creator, “Professor” Chris Atkinson.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

he won't be playing moldova every week! he had no threat from their striker/wingers so was free to bomb forward. he had so much time to think about his delivery. in the PL when he is rushed he is erratic

I think he looks good in the EPL as well though. For 6 mill he has more attacking potential than anyone else in that price bracket IMO. Im currently trying to pick 2 out of him, Vidic and Zabaletta

Vidic and Zab if you can afford them. You can get a Spurs defender cheaper in Dawson or if he's dropped Kaboul or Chiriches

Hi Guys - quite large discrepancies between FISO and Total FPL price rises/falls this year. Any news on which is closest?

Also, would appreciate some thoughts/opinions on my WC team. This is my current thinking:

    Mig/McGreg
Coleman/Sakho each week with one of Collins/Whittaker/Chambers
    Yaya/Nolan/Wally (Barkley/Brady)
    RVP/Giroud/Sturridge
0.1 in bank in case of rises

Thinking it's easier to downgrade RVP than to crowbar him in. Also what about Nolan to Hernandez and Whittaker to Dawson/Shawcross??

TotalFPL is more accurate at the mo but it's still not perfect.

Can't comment on RVP teams as I just don't see it long term. Maybe my big mistake... maybe not 🙂

The VP question has to be answered over the long term i reckon
probably best to have him this week (assuming he starts V CPL)
taking him out and upgrading elsewhere look sV Good and will reasonably get you a few more points
But when you factor in that he'll be your captain and hif he does even ok (by this i mean an average of 60 pts over nxt 10 games) then as captain it could work out better.

But you need to look at it over nxt 10 wks at least in my opinion and not shif strategy and cost yourself hits in the meantime.......
I took him out for Arsenal V Chelsea 2 yrs ago and he hit a hattrick in that game. Cost me .2 in money and 40 pts in scoring before I had him back in my team!

Been there! I don't like to leave him out, but I can easily downgrade, as you say, for Benteke which frees up a lot of cash to bolster 2 Def & 1 Mid ( gradually for no hits).

When i first came here, Optimus wanted a link to my team, i posted some random guy's who managed two top 1000 finishes. .

Mark found out that it wasn't my real team and deleted the comment, as i was "misleading the community".

Sherlock here seems to think the team i posted belonged to someone called "Nate". False assumption, as Jonty and Mark would confirm.

Please RMT - not necessarilly for GW 4 - but just as an overall team

    Mignolet, McGregor
    Vidic, Terry, Zabaleta, Vertonghen, Chambers
    Lampard, Barkley, Brady, Nani, Lamela
    Negredo, Giroud, Sturridge

All top 6 attackers represented - I would be happy captaining any when in form (assuming they are playing) Strong subs in Mid, Top 6 Goalie, and 4 of other top 6 Defenders - only top 6 defense not represented is Arsenal.

    Thoughts

Fair bit spent in DEF, but defenders have brought in the points so far. You'd be looking at playing 4 defenders each week with that line up

I always planned on getting Benteke in on my WC for gw4 against Newcastle all along. Now my predicament is who to not get instead as I have Soldado and Sturridge but feel Giroud is becoming a must also.. Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool all have great fixtures that are hard to ignore so should I not get Benteke? Or just hope Walcott is enough arsenal cover?
