Having cast an eye over the Defenders yesterday, we roll out the second in a three-part members series with a look at midfielders. Assessing the key attacking statistics, we analyse the chief creators and major goal threats over the first three Gameweeks of the season.

0 goals, 0 assists, 1 yellow card, 1 red card, and only 7 points after the first 7 gameweeks...
I think he would have benefited from the new BP system too...Open Controls
Are any of the new Spurs' signings (Lamela/Eriksen) good at spot kicks? (Is there a chance Soldado might be taken off penalty duties?)
Open ControlsI think Eriksen is excellent at free kicks... Soldado should be safe though.
Open ControlsEriksen will now take all corners probably. Good few free kicks too
Soldado nailed on with penaltysOpen ControlsEricsson will likely not even start much this year imo. For Ericsson see holtby and siggy last year.
Open ControlsI think Holtby will really kick on this year
Open ControlsDo you remember siggy the year before he came to spurs (for even bigger money than Ericsson I think?)?
I really don't see him getting straight in the team. Maybe once he's settled he might start getting game time from the bench?Open ControlsHe has to. Zero creativity in that side at the moment

OK - A VERY IMPORTANT HEADS-UP.
I am calling on all of you - particularly our betting fraternity - to donate a few pounds to Kettering Town FC. For our punters, all I am suggesting is that you donate the same amount of just one of your average bets. No pain!
For our non-punters - well, you will have more money! Let your conscience be your guide ...
Every now and then, these things happen. There, but for the grace of God, goes our club.

Please give generously - but more importantly - give. A pound will do.
Thank you all for your consideration ...Open ControlsOn my WC
Toying with the idea of giving Taarabt one game only (WBA at home) to make up for the years of fantasy heartache, after which he can be swapped for someone like Redmond/Fer/Moses/Arnautovic.
Thoughts?Open ControlsI really can't decide between Walcott and Ozil. I feel like Walcott may be the better short term option because Ozil may take a while to bed in. However I'm about to go on holiday for 3 weeks and won't be able to change my team while I'm out there, and if I don't pick Ozil and his price rises in those 3 weeks I won't be able to afford him. Or is Walcott just a better option full stop?
Open ControlsTo get Walker in should I
A. Keep Rat and hope he starts and sell Ivan with the risk of Apzil
B. Sell Rat and keep Ivan and hope he won't be rotated especially with the UCL starting soonOpen ControlsI would sell Rat. At the moment he isn't starting and Ivan is.
Open Controlsok then Mert it is
Open ControlsWhy not?
Occasional set-pieces + potential for Baps is good + Spurs look solid at the backOpen Controls
No matter how much I tinker, I still arrive back at the same punt-heavy WC line-up I went for 3 days ago. Guess I'll just be going with my gut 🙂
Open ControlsIt's alright you can use your wc to fix it in a few weeks time sure. Oh wait.......
Don't be Rediculous, if you are on your wc now then it is probably because you went to punt heavy in the first place why repeat the mistake? You do realise repeating the same mistake and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity? Are you insane?Open ControlsWell its not "punt-heavy" really - it just is in comparison to the templates on here.
I have Fellaini, Moses and Debuchy, when I could pick Lampard, Hernandez and Mertesacker, for example. I'd rather go with my gut than be a sheep, thats all.Open Controls
Does the RMT Tool always stick to 343 ?
Open ControlsHow does everyone feel about Lamela?

Any love at all for Samuel Eto'o? Intriguing option, putting him on my watchlist
Open Controlsrotation risk so at the moment no
Open ControlsI heard on twitter earlier that he is out for 6 weeks due to a training injury..
I'm not saying this is reliable but it is circulating on twitter..

I feel people are looking at Arsenal completely differently now that Ozil's here. It's true, their offense takes a completely different dimension now, but they're still plagued by mediocrity in CM, defense and arguably up front when Giroud is off form.
I'm not captaining an Arsenal player this week. Ozil alone won't transform the team overnight.
Also, Walcott >>>>>> Ozil.
If Walcott plays like Ronaldo does except on the right side with those aggressive cuts inside and behind the defense, Ozil will find him and there will be goals.
I think Walcott should easily, bar injury, be the highest scoring mid this year.Open Controls"but they're still plagued by mediocrity in CM, defense and arguably up front when Giroud is off form"
HAHAHAHAOpen ControlsAgree re walcott but not re arsenal cm and def. 2nd best def in the league last year and the whole back four and gk are top class international players (except lb maybe but monreal and gibbs are not far away).
Arsenal biggest weakness last year was squad depth imo and it is probably still the reason they don't really have a shot at winning the league this yearOpen ControlsArsenal should get a better fitness team, with all these injuries they've had.
If Arsene wants an enforcer in midfield, why not play Vermaelen there? 😉Open ControlsVerminator .....marauding from CM.... *drools*....

Yeah I agree with this.
Arsenal will become an improved version of what they are currently but not a world beater.
I said the day Ozil signed that they could still do with a new back 4 + GKOpen ControlsAgreed, De Gea gets slaughtered when he makes a mistake - Szczesny makes twice as many.
Koscielny in particular gets far too much hype from Arsenal fans. He's pretty decent, as is Mertesacker, but you wouldn't take that partnership over Terry/Luiz, Rio/Vidic etc.
The last time Sagna put a decent cross into the box was circa 2011, and Gibbs/Monreal are solid but unspectacular.
It'll still be a battle for fourth with Spurs and Liverpool for them.Open Controls
I don't know about you. But Umlaut's signing has made Arsenal the frontrunners to win the Wenger Cup.
Having said that, I strongly rate Umlaut and definitely think he'll be one of the league's best players by next season. Whether that will translate to FPL points, I don't know. But its highly likely some of the awesomeness will rub off on Walcott and co.Open Controls
On a wc and considering this:
Mignolet
Zab - Coleman - Vidic
Brady - Yaya - Walcott - Hernandez
Giroud - Benteke - RVP
Bench: B. Turner - Chester - Given - Ward-Prowse
I don't currently have RVP, but his upcoming fixtures are so tempting. Thoughts?Open ControlsC'mon everyone, keep selling Hazard 😀
I'll take him at £9.0m like I did with Mata last year 😉Open ControlsCan't call this Womens final
Azarenka playing really wellOpen ControlsMig (Davis)
Walker Mertesacker Rio (Collins Chester)
Nani Lampard Walcott Lamela (Ward-Prowse)
Sturridge Giroud Benteke
Worth it?Open ControlsI feel as if you're stuck between a rock and a hard place with that midfield.
If you keep it as it is Nani and Lamela will be labeled as poor picks at the minute and not worth it, yet if you downgrade you'll be asked to upgrade again.
And on that note, goodnight.Open Controls
So Johnson could be out for up to 10 weeks?
Is Wisdom a viable option now?Open ControlsNothing official from LFC so unless the red-top hack has an inside source (doubtful under Rodgers) then it's a wait and see.
Wisdom will have Kelly as competition too.Open Controls
Benteke, Soldado and Sturridge or Giroud?
Have Walcott also so had it on Sturridge but his fragile body worries me...Open ControlsLaters folks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUq-szFBcjw

Say hello to my little friend. Scarface on ITV4 classic
Open ControlsThe scene in the bath tub (with his phallic cigar) is so good.
Open Controls
RVP, Suarez, Giroud frontline for me come GW6. My defence will be pretty cheap, but, hey, that's the price you pay.
Open ControlsWalcott, Coutinho, Pablo, Kim, Brady. It's okish. Having 2 x 9m+ gives me the option to swap to Michu, Hazard etc (whoever is firing)
Open Controls
None of us know. I think the opposite.
Open ControlsNo, as with any of this stuff it could be genius. Have you considered Lamela instead of Coutinho? You could cover spurs going forward then too
Open ControlsI have indeed. A Coutinho "out" transfer before GW6 would cost me a -4, so he stays a little while longer.
Cheers.Open Controls
Wildcard sorted
Gone cheap keepers
four premium defenders and a cheapie
Two premium mids and three cheapies
Three premium strikers
Boruc Marshall
Sakbo Evra Mersaker Coleman Chester
Walcott Lamela Brady Wittingham Prowse
RVP Benteke GiroudOpen Controlscan flick between 3 4 3 and 4 3 3 depending on fixtures
By getting Lamela in dont feel so bad about losing soldadoOpen ControlsSakho may not be nailed on IMO.
Better get Vidic + Enrique?Open ControlsLooks good. Anyone that WCed this break that hasn't included RVP needs their head examined, if you ask me (and you didn't 😉 )
Open ControlsIm quite happy with team now , even though Van Persie so expensive , i reckon thiose cheap mids can chip in a few points when their fixtures favourable
Sagbo i think will be nailed on. There talk of Toure going to right bck to cover johnsone or them playing three centrebacksOpen Controlsand if lamela proves no good then he an easy swap to michu when fixtures improve
Open ControlsI keep going back and forth. If other forwards didn't keep doing well the choice would be easy
Open ControlsIt easier to take RVP out than it is to bring him in
If he fires up as captain there going to be some panic about from the non ownersOpen ControlsBut Benteke / Soldado / Giroud / Soldado / Sturridge can just as easily do well for a smaller outlay. I have a WC and currently still think Benteke, Sturridge, Giroud may well be the way to go
Open ControlsYou might be right , but i would rather hedge my bets , if Van Persie blans against palace then i will get sturridge in for him
Open Controls
Downgrade Mirallas or Coutinho
to upgrade Dzeko to Benteke?Open ControlsRight, I'm off to do my first ever draft league thingy. Anyone done it before? Any tips? Thanks.
Open ControlsGood luck RCA.
Yup played one before. My only trick is to spot the oddities - any weird names (especially Brazilians, Portuguese, etc) or OOP/POO players that may be differentials in the game, depending on your scoring system.Open ControlsCheers ENR. Yeah, good point, TW warned me earlier about those pesky Portuguese language names and those double-dot umlaut thingymajigs too.
Open Controls
What is that draft league thingy?
I may be of help regarding portuguese language.Open ControlsThanks IL Fantasista. I'm sorted now!

Luis Suarez. NTI +29 today. Have people gone completely mental?
Open ControlsHows this WC team look? 0.5 still in bank
Mignolet
Walker Shaw Collins
Walcorr Brady Lampard Yaya
RVP Benteke Lambert

Anyone reckons Hernandez might rise before JWP? Would be tremendous helpful.
