With the mind-numbing international break out of the way, all eyes turn to the Premier League to assess whether any of the glittering new signings are worth a gamble on their debuts. Fantasy managers have so much to anticipate in Gameweek 4 – not least the damage that Robin van Perise can do in the early kick-off. Let’s cast an eye over Paddy Power’s assessment of the Dutchman, this week’s other likely scorers and the clean sheet hunt.

According to the traders in Power Tower, United are all set to rip into Crystal Palace. There are four of David Moyes’ squad in the top ten anytime scorers, including new boy Marouane Fellaini who is 11/8 to earn a debut goal.

Not surprisingly, it’s Van Persie who tops the list, however. With three goals for Holland over the break, he now has 18 strikes in his last 21 games for club and country and is 1/2 with Paddy to deliver the goods against Ian Holloway’s troops. Not good news for the Van Persie naysayers.

Roberto Soldado is the nearest rival to the United marksman and a player who will doubtless be carrying many an armband going into the White Hart Lane clash with Norwich. The Spaniard now has five goals in seven games for club and country since signing for Spurs. Soldado is 4/6 to score at anytime against the Canaries with Paddy.

Chelsea signing Samuel Eto’o is closer to a pension than puberty, but the Cameroonian striker is the most likely player to find the back of the net at any time in Chelsea’s clash with Everton. He can be backed at 15/8 to score a goal on his debut for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Frank Lampard scored twice on Merseyside in the corresponding fixture last season and has a goal, an assist and two clean sheets to his name already in this campaign. He’s at 23/10 with Paddy to notch in the Goodison clash – Theo Walcott, at 6/4 to score at Sunderland, is the only midfielder more fancied over the weekend fixtures. Paddy are refunding all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on this match should Lampard notch.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 4

TeamOdds
Man United1.72
Tottenham2.10
Man City2.10
Arsenal2.20
Southampton2.37
Hull2.70
Aston Villa2.80

Just as Van Persie and Soldado dominate in the anytime scorer listing, it’s United and Spurs who rank top in the clean sheet odds. Paddy Power has David Moyes’ side at 8/11 to keep out newly promoted Palace, while Spurs are evens to rack up their third clean sheet of the season.

Despite the sizeable banana skin of a Britannia clash and the absence of Vincent Kompany in the back four, City are also well fancied here, with Arsenal not far behind as they look to shut-out Paolo Di Canio’s Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

Goal-shy West Brom are the only side in the top flight not to score this season and face a testing trip to Craven Cottage. Fulham beat the Baggies 3-0 in this fixture last season and are 7/4 to keep a shut-out with Paddy Power. Martin Jol’s side are in the mix with Aston Villa and Liverpool, with Hull City and Southampton offering budget and mid-price options. The Tigers are 17/10 for a clean sheet at home to Cardiff, while the Saints are 11/8 with Paddy for a shut-out against Big Sam’s Hammers at St Mary’s.

Hazard is fit according to Mourinho. But is he really nailed on since the manager has around 10 MF to play with. I'm on wildcard now and the last midfield slot is still undecided.
    Current front 8:
    Brady Whittingham Walcott HBA ?
    RVP Giroud Benteke

I can afford up to a 10m player for the last slot. Ozil, Hazard, Gerrard or Michu? Opinions are welcomed.

I decided not to flirt with the rotating Chelsea midfield. Too much of a minefield.

Ozil - Can't really do it with Walcott and Giroud in the team as well.

Gerrard - Really playing defensive midfield this season and if you want this type of player Lampard is a better choice. (This from a Reds supporter too.)

Leaves you with Michu as the choice. Hasn't shown much yet but his stats hold up so a reasonable expectation he might fire. The same could be said about Coutinho.

Nasty choice. Lamela is not likely to get 90minutes.

I would go with Barkley, if he does get a start he is more likely to get more minutes and if he doesn't start you could get Lamela from the bench.

    Hopefully this will stop the same questions being asked for the next hour although I highly doubt it;

    Merts didn't travel to Sunderland
Sturridge is due to be fit for Monday night
Lamela is due to be on the bench if AVB can be believed

Silva is price protected until 11:31 as he was red flagged

    Silva Options;
    Coutinho if no Sturridge
    Walcott if no Giroud
Michu now his price has fallen
JWP/Brady if you're trying to get RVP in your team

Boruc has the better fixture than Migs

Play Coleman if you're a form player play Chester if you're a fixtures player

Benteke Soldado Giroud and Walcott are all good (C) options, although the bookies make Soldado the favourite to score

At this stage it's only worth taking a hit to bring in RVP

    Maybe this will help

I agree to a certain extent as I didn't want to spend -4pts on RVP, but my point was basically to give an answer to everyone thinking of spending points to drop Silva, it only really makes sense if you're going for someone who could have a big week, and I don't see too many mids worth the gamble

Thanks all. Just trying to help remove some of the monotony of having the same questions asked over an over

He is going to hurt you until JM works this Chelsea side out. Lot of 1-0 wins for the time being.

So Vidic & Ivan & Soldado versus Chester & Whittaker & RVP.

      I'd take A all day

    Mornin,

    Boruc (foster)
    Coleman Ivan Chester (murner ward)
    Coutinho taarabt Wally miralas (kim)
    Soldado lambert dzeko

    A: miralas + dzeko >> Brady + Rvp (-4)
    B: Ivan + dzeko >> wisdom/fonte/Kaboul + Rvp (-4)
    C: Ivan + miralas + dzeko >> koscielny + Hernandez + Rvp (-8)

A seems the logical choice but don't like Ivan in there as I reckon chel will concede this gw, Ivan might get rested for next gw coz of Ucl... So confused

Is the RMT Tool broken? It is advising, and rightly so, to captain VP but to VC Benteke with a predicted score of 5.09 instead of Walcott with a predicted score of 5.28 - is VC based on more than the predicted score?
