We arrive at Gameweek 6 clutching our first Flutter winnings of the season. Last time out we staked £3 on Michu to notch a third strike in a week, coupled with a Swansea clean sheet at Crystal Palace, and, at last, wiped the smile off Paddy Power’s face. Our confidence boosted, we’ve focused on red-hot Rooney and a couple of heavily backed midfield prospects that found themselves just missing out on Scout Pick selection.

First, we stop off at Old Trafford to find Wayne Rooney in bloom and in demand. The United striker has enjoyed a 0.3 price rise in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this week as a result of four goals in three matches prior to the midweek Capital One Cup tie. As we saw when we looked at Paddy’s odds earlier this week, Rooney and United are strongly tipped to put Steve Clarke’s West Brom to bed in Saturday’s three o’clock encounter and, with Robin van Persie’s degree of involvement still uncertain following typically cryptic messages from David Moyes, Rooney looks the most likely architect of their destruction. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Rooney to score two or more goals with a United clean sheet against the Baggies. We’re happy to back the man in form to the tune of £3 of our stake.

Our next two markets concern players who were on the cusp of the Scout Picks this week, only to be ousted at the last. Like Rooney, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has form on his side and has been backed by an overwhelming tide of FPL investment in recent weeks. He travels to Swansea as a slight injury doubt but off the back of seven goals this term, four in his last three outings. If he plays, he’s likely to be in the mix for the Gunners – reason enough to carefully consider Paddy’s odds of 10/1 on a Ramsey goal with an Arsenal clean sheet against the Swans. We’ll lay down £2 of our tenner on this one.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is lined up for our final market. Robbed of his Scout Pick selection by Romelu Lukaku’s presence on our bench, Mirallas is nonetheless fancied to notch when Newcastle pay visit to Goodison on Monday night. Indeed, when we checked in with Paddy’s odds this week, we found Mirallas to be the most likely Fantasy midfielder to score anytime in the Gameweek. With odds of 5/1 on a Mirallas goal with an Everton clean sheet against the Magpies, we’re happy to make this our bet of the week and offer up the remaining £5 of our stake.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Boruc (Foster)

Hey lads, So, i guess RVP should be in the starting line up. Well, Moyes has stated that he is fit.( Although, his comments are far from assuring about a starting role, But, may be Moyes is just playing his cards). A fit RVP should start the game right? After all, he had enough time to recover as he had sat down two of United's previous games. Losing 4-1 to City last GW means, Moyes needs to gain some trust from the United faithful, which means, he needs to line up his best XI today and a best XI needs RVP as the frontman. Moreover, he needs match practice due to the upcoming UEFA CL group game.

Really think Vidic may be given another rest today, played every match since the start of the season barring Liverpool midweek.

Evans & Smalling were superb midweek, and United have a big game in Ukraine on Tuesday. Think a few people are going to have their fingers burnt, if not today then in the following weeks.

Most GW6 wildcards are without Baines - seems nuts at this point from what we've seen?

baines presence alone will dowgrade a midfielder or a striker
with coleman u get all his CS and almost all his assists
      but not his goals
im sticking with coleman although i can afford a straight swap

He can't keep it up can he? Price is the issue here, Coleman is £2m cheaper and only 9 points off.

Right, here it is. Bareth's WC team:

    Boruc - Lewis
    Coleman - Vidic - Wilson - Burner - Gabbidon
    Barkley - Ozil - Eriksen - Michu - Whittingham
    Rooney (VC) - Suarez (C) - Giroud

    Bring it.

Is fifa 14 worth it? i love fifa 13 and dint quite like the 14 demo. Also due to the rupee falling it's now pretty expensive here(3500 INR)

Same thought the demo was too slow but I guess you can tweak the match speed in options and stuff maybe update 13 squads and get 14 once it drops in price. The game I'd fork money out for is gta 5 given the massive improvements to gameplay which can't be said of fifa.

    Almost almost my WC team

    Boruc • Myhill
    Vidic • wilson • baines • dawson • burner
    brady • michu • eriksen • ramsey • barkley
    rooney • giroud • suarez

Decent team i reckon...the mid just looks weak esp when playing a 3-4-3..will occasionally play 4-3-3..worried about gametime for vidic dawson barkley SOOOO
    A: Leave as it is
    B: dawson + baines + barkley >> koscielny + coleman + mirallas..(RMT prefers this)
    C: dawson + baines + barkley + vidic >> williams(swa) + coleman + mirallas + evra

    Vidic - Dawson - Baines - Wilson - Clyne
    Ozil - Ramsey - Barkley - Michu - Moses
    Rooney - Sturridge - Giroud

    Help please.
