As David Moyes’ teamsheet leaves the door ajar for an inspired West Brom to silence Old Trafford, Arsenal, driven on by their Welsh starlet once again, grab their opportunity to set the Premier League pace.

The Game Changer

Aaron Ramsey’s extraordinary ascendency continues. A fourth league goal at the Liberty tonight ensured the points for the Gunners and handed Ramsey’s Fantasy owners a second double figure haul, with the Welshman also assisting Serge Gnabry’s opener.

The clamour for Ramsey will now continue and, after two consecutive 0.3 price rises in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, it seems we’re witnessing one the most rapid and relentless bandwagons since Michu burst on to the scene last season.

With Ramsey’s form showing incredible consistency, it seems assured that Wenger will keep him installed as a key figure in his midfield, despite the availability of Mikel Arteta and the impending return of Santi Cazorla. Rest and rotation may eventually bite, even with that risk, Ramsey remains almost impossible to ignore.

His army of Fantasy owners will be rejoicing this evening. The rest will be wondering if they should swallow their pride and get on board, despite missing the rise of 0.7. While it feels like chasing points, those points show little sign of slowing up.

The Underused

Morgan Amilfitano was United’s chief tormenter at Old Trafford. An outstanding display was capped by his second goal in consecutive matches and was coupled with an assist for the Baggies winner. The Frenchman’s impact on the Baggies has been profound and Steve Clarke appears to unearthed a gem.

With maximum bonus on their way, Amilfitano has brought in 24 points in his three Premier League appearances and is now blinking brightly on our radars as a low-to-mid price midfield asset.

His arrival at the Hawthorns created little publicity, with the signings of Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe allowing him to land in the midlands without fanfare. Certainly, his statistics over his previous two seasons at Marseille were underwhelming: two goals and seven assists from 60 league games hardly earmarked him for immediate attention from Fantasy managers.

Three matches in, however, and it’s clear that Amilfitano has been rejuvenated and, despite West Brom’s tough schedule, he represents a major consideration for those looking to free up funds from their midfield.

The Selection Poser

We saw rotation in the United lineup prior to matchday one of the Champions League and, today, it materialised again. While we should not detract from the performance of West Brom, the United teamsheet was surely a contributing factor behind their shock 2-1 reverse.

Defensively, David Moyes’ side were far from secure without the assured presence of Patrice Evra and, in particular Nemanja Vidic. The omission of both ahead of Wednesday’s tie with Shakhtar Donetsk came as a surprise. It was anticipated that Rio Ferdinand would be the more likely to be rotated out, with club captain Vidic hailed only this week by Moyes as the best central defender he’s ever managed.

It remains to be seen if the United boss repeats such a policy in matches to come. Clearly he has options and the means to rotate his defence, making it difficult for Fantasy managers to assess the options on offer at a time when their fixtures had suggested the promise of defensive returns. Today’s lineup and result surely calls for a rethink.

In attack, Robin van Persie was kept on the bench until United were forced to chase the game. While the Dutchman was fit enough for selection, Moyes chose to keep him from the fray and presumably preserve him for European action.

Prior to matchday one of the Champions League in Gameweek 4, Van Persie was replaced with 11 minutes remaining against a 10-man Palace and back then, we highlighted the possibility of limited pitch time to come with Moyes protecting his star asset. Moyes’ decision to start without him today not only provided further frustration for his Fantasy owners, denting Van Persie’s stock once again, it surely provided a boost for visitors West Brom, inspiring them to put on a performance that ultimately proved too much for a weakened and out-of-sorts United.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Looking dangerous.....seems to be very "forward thinking" more so than we all bargained for.

Want to see his avg postition compared to Eriksen in the members area once it is updated.

Him and Townsend could be benched / rotated when Soldado, Eriksen, Lamela and Chadli start to kick-on and maybe Paulinho will be needed less in attack. But he's always scored goals even from DM.

It is deserved love. Hit the post today and denied a sure tap in by a last ditch Ivan tackle. He gets into great positions for a "deep lying mid".

Little confused with the Mignolet and Boruc combo - they dont rotate well any further, and will pinch to see points left off on the bench.

Who is a good replacement for Boruc??

    Repost*

Have JWP, Collins, Chester and HBA(not as urgent) to get out of my squad. I have 2.4 in the bank. Should I do:

    A) JWP ➡ Ramsey

    B) Collins ➡ Wilson/Fonte

    C) Chester ➡ Wilson/Fonte

    D) HBA ➡ Anyone 9.6 or under (have Michu and Eriksen)

    E) Other suggestions

I dont have Ramsey. (Kosc - Ozil - Giroud) If I had the option to get him as easily as you can. I would jump at the chance. He is seriously killing me in my mini leagues.

Yes I think they've reset to zero.

Problem is there are people on TFPL with a reasonably complete knowledge of how the whole system work, but there's very unapproachable. Cully appears to have worked it out because he knows someone who works in Fantasy MLS which uses the same price change system. Unfortunately, talking to him was like trying to headbutt a wall.

I can too, but you can't have it both ways. You can't make assertions about what's going to happen and refuse to provide your reasoning because you don't want to disclose your method.

Not all of us have the free time or inclination to spend a large part of our waking lives monitoring price changes. There are other priorities in life, lol.

If it was so easy it would have been done already. The problem is that there are multiple explanations for the same outcome, and there's a lot more beneath the surface than FPL provide, so even the information you have is not complete. For example, there are apparently 7 flags. This is because there are sub gradings of yellow and red flags (injury, international duty, suspension if I recall correctly).

FISO has not sorted out its fallers properly yet, and TFPL has been missing a few recently.

Also, yes someone is completely within their rights to jealously guard their work, but some people set their sights a bit higher than that. FISO for example have been very transparent and are the main reason we price change casuals have any clue about how the system works, because they published that famous price change post every year on their Crack The Code thread. They are a great example.

                    Each to their own.

FISO are still way off this season. Why would their competition want to give away info?

They wouldn't, from the viewpoint of pure self-interest.

But if they committed all those hours to price changes, I say they're not really acting in their self interest anyway as it's not going to gain them anything tangible anyway.

All that matters is that the price predictions are correct. One has been very good, 98% rise etc & the other has no idea this season.

Hmm.. having a look they both got some nice fixtures.
Don't have attacking cover of both teams.
I can see everyone flocking in to buy Suarez too if he scores or something.
Rooney's goals have been from FK's (I think).

Tough TM, I reckon Suarez might be the go. Whatcha think?

I could have both for a -8, but that's a bit too far.

Hmm, due to price changes I need to get this done with. Tekkers to Lukaku for the cash sounds alright?

Or take a -8 for Suarez, Roon and Brady? Which sounds good especially as I'm doing so bad ATM.

Getting players before playing is asking for trouble. Rather take a hit & downgrade a defender to fund it.

Morning fellas! I took a -8 hit for this crock of shite! .......

    Mignolet (Boruc)

    Zabaleta - Vidic - Dawson (Chester-inj, Chambers)

Ozil - Lampard - Moses - Barkley (JWP)

    Giroud - Sturridge - Rooney

    1FT and £2.5 stacked.

Should I prioritise getting Chester and Chambers out or upgrade JWP?

The number will decrease as numbers get smaller. 40 or equal will turn to 30,20,10,singles figures. At the moment it's about getting the number down.

I'd say Paulinho. Hit post today and had a sure tap in cleared by Ivan. More of a threat and is always in the flippin' box! Plus Siggy would be first to be subbed if things not going well for Spurs of those two. Even if they are chasing.

Stats are pretty similar but as Rafabio said, Paulinho is more nailed-on. If you could guarantee Siggy would play every game then he'd be the better option as the boy can finish, but you can't so go Paulinho. If it was me I would still stick with Lamela though, he'll come good.

I dont know if I was dreaming or not, but Ramsey was surely top of the rises chart with 210% (above Rooney at 3PM) ... with a higher NTI than Rooney. And as soon as his flag color changed, Ramseys NTI significant decreased. I know it sounds illogical for NTI to decrease on a flag change, but that is what I believe happened. Maybe its molly playing mindgames with me...

i think 4th spot was a given for arsenal. there was no way they were ever going to finish below spurs, liverpool, everton etc. But it didn't look like they could challenge utd, city and chelsea - that was the problem. but now its starting to look like they could realistically challenge for the title. they havent actually finished outside top 4 for 17 years so it would be pretty silly to think they wouldnt this year

End of last season and start of the transfer window they were on a massive high. Loads of quality players linked with the club. Start of the season and after GW1 people wanted Wenger out. We buy Ozil and go on this winning streak, Ramsay is on fire (After many fans slating him last season) and Giroud is looking sharp. Arsenal fans now think we can win the league.

Realistically if Arsenal perform in the big games they have a chance. They have really struggled with the big games for the last couple of years. Mainly because I feel we never had any players that the opposition were 'scared' off. We will see GW 11 + 12 when we play Liverpool then Man United I suppose.

Yep. Ozil and Caz scare people now though. Caz was by himself last season a bit. Now it's pretty terrifying.

Really feeling the Ramsey mixed feelings as a Gooner.

Agree fully. Walcott's pace certainly worries defenders. Now they have midfields being called back to deal with Ozil and Defenders being worried by Giroud's movement (which I feel has improved greatly!) There was a good analysis video on BBC Sport about Giroud and his movement to the front post.

I really do not know what to do. Arsenals fixtures for the next 4 GW's looks very tasty. Ramsay surely is a must at the moment? I have Kosc - Ozil - Giroud.

I know that if I think rationally and get Sigurdsson, then Ramsey will score.

Pretty sure AVB will start Sigurdsson for the next2- games at least. Thats good enough for me.

Oh if you think Ramsey will get points, get him. Just points over price. I think Ramsey will be a nice scorer at the very least until Caz/Wally/Pod return and even then will chip in.

Siggy for me. Spurs have tasty fixtures and Ramsey will not keep up that pace.

Damn, I can't do Chester>Clyne because I've already got Boruc, Chambers and JWP!!!

Any suggestions for a cheap def from another team?

or should I just spend my £2.5 and do Chester>Terry?

Chadli out wide with Siggy more central if I'm not mistaken.
