Yea your right, but at the same time he was pushing for a first team start and Fergie clearly didn't feel he was ready, for what ever reason? Physically he has proven he can mix it with the big boys in Serie A so maybe it was a mental weakness that kept him out of the first team and into Fergie's bad books?

Bloody hell. Sounds like Fergie in this case cared more about winning trophies immediately (via Scholes + Carrick - who was a bit kack back then but is excellent now) than considering the future for once. If Scholes was 28 at the time I'd completely stand by the decision, 30 and I'd be on the fence depending on how long his contract was. The guy is freakin' 38 now!
