City’s irresistible attack brings more joy for a pair of players who are prompting Fantasy managers back to the drawing board. Elsewhere, Everton’s loanee hitman disappoints in a Gameweek where striking rivals deliver once again.

The Game Changer

Sergio Aguero’s form is becoming increasingly hard to ignore. City are clear at the top of the goalscoring stakes and David Silva’s return appears to have re-ignited their form and, in particular, that of the Argentinian marksman.

A brace at Upton Park this evening brings Aguero to five strikes in his last three league matches. Had his spot-kick counted in his favour against Everton in Gameweek 7 and not been registered as an own goal, Aguero would likely be out in front as the FPL’s top scoring player.

Largely ignored while we waited on Manuel Pellegrini’s teamsheet trends, it’s become clear that, despite competition up front, Aguero is key to the Chilean’s plans and central to City’s title challenge.

With just over 10% ownership, we’re looking at a low-level differential with explosive qualities. Even with such fierce competition for places in our forward lines, his form in a City attack that looks full of goals, simply has to demand our attention and have us at least consider a route to recruit.

The Underused

David Silva has emerged as a rare commodity – a reliable heavy hitter from midfield.

While Mesut Ozil retuned strongly for the Gunners today, the German international is an established favourite in over a third of FPL lineups. In contrast, Silva’s ownership sits under 5% meaning that, like Aguero, he stands out a hugely effective differential. Significantly, the Spaniard has either scored or assisted in four of his five league starts this season – that is a consistency that, arguably, only Ozil and Aaron Ramsey can currently rival in midfield.

Tonight many Fantasy managers will be weighing up a dilemma – Aguero or Silva. With City blitzing opponents with goals – it’s becoming clear that we can’t go on ignoring the potential of their two protagonists.

The Selection Poser

Romelu Lukaku’s failure in the win over Hull is surely forgivable given his impressive impact on arrival at Goodison. In a Gameweek where almost every other heavy-hitting striker delivered, however, it will greatly frustrate the Belgian’s owners.

Having hovered up new owners over the international break, it remains to be seen if today’s 68-minute blank will raise the first alarm bells. It’s unthinkable to consider that Lukaku won’t go on delivering value for his 8.0 price tag but value from our strikers isn’t a major consideration, right now.

There could be concern that, long-term, Lukaku may struggle to keep pace with the Liverpool pairing, Olivier Giroud, Sergio Aguero and United’s forwards – this is without considering the return of Christian Benteke.

With so much value available in midfield, three heavy-hitting forwards can be a reality and, given the form being shown in the current Fantasy landscape, we can’t afford a drop in output from any of our strikers, particularly those who tempt the armband. It may be just one blank but Lukaku needs a goal at Villa.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Coleman / Ivan / Zaba
    Ramsey / Ozil / Eriksen / Michu

    Boruc (myhill)
Vidic • Baines • Dawson (burner wilson)
Michu • Eriksen • Ramsey • Januzaj (barkley)
    Giroud • Suarez • Lukaku

    - def is the biggest prob with vidic/wilson and potentially dawson not playing.
    - eriksen is the weak link in mid..
    - vidic might come back So was thinking

    wilson/dawson >> chico?

      Ship no-one before Friday.

If you can't make 3 defenders you'll be happy with then Wilson out. Dawson hasn't been dropped yet.

I'm thinking of shipping Eriksen too, definitely shipping Mbiwa. Have 2 FT, thinking Eriksen and Mbiwa to AN Other (Ramsey, Robbie etc) and Rangel. Rangel looks the nailed-on Swansea defender with most attacking intent.

Just watched the highlights of the United game. Looked like a belter.

RVP really hasn't found his mojo yet despite scoring, but had several big chances to score. Rooney looking like a man on form, did everything except score or almost assist on two occasions. Can't go wrong with either of them for captaincy against Stoke, I think a backlash could be on the cards. Jacuzzi was lively throughout, might have had a goal if not for Boruc's brilliance.

But wow, United struggling to string wins together at home. Serious WTF. It just feels as if no one believes in themselves and Moyes, can't believe the same squad could actually win the title comfortably in the previous season. And what is with his subs?!?!?! With all fair respect to Welbz, Hernandez is the impact sub they needed. And no Kagawa again. Giggs, seriously?!

Times like this. You have to wonder - how much was United's success in recent times can be owed to SAF.

    More rum.

I dont see any stand out fixture next gw for using transfers:

    - Man utd vs. stoke: utd seriously off form...hold if you have them, cant see anyone bringing em in

    - Pool vs. wba: most would have one of sua/stur, would bring one of them in if you dont have. A case can be made for bringing in a def, GJ seems the obvious candidate

    - Spurs vs. hull: spurs were horrible last week, depends how they perform today, Also hull have been tight

    - Saints vs. fulham: If you dont have a saints def by now, you dont deserve to be on this forum ;). Lallana, thats a very good tranfer i reckon! but the question is for who..he is priced such that he is not a bench fodder (5th), so have him as the 4th mid?

    - City vs. chel: too tough to call btw oscar/silva/hazard...i would recommend just waiting till they have played

    - Swans vs. Whm: The best case to use your FT to bring in a swans def with their fix. Chico/rangel both good options

So to conclude, here are the transfers you should be considering:
    - Swans defender
    - lallana

My WCed team scored less than my previous week's team.

    Ramsey and Aguero.

    *sigh*

Honestly after today's games, not one of the expensive defenders inspires confidence. Soton are the real deal.

    It's time for the ubers!

Yip. I'm so glad I wasn't one of those who went beserk in GW3 and spent 30m and their Wild Card on expensive defenders.
I wasted my on RVP instead....

Here I brought in Oscar on the strength of Mourinhos word he would be the man in the middle.

    Why didn't he start..
