In the first instalment of a new, weekly article for members, we conduct some in-depth statistical analysis into one of the most crucial aspects in any given Gameweek – just who we entrust with the Fantasy armband. This week the options are plentiful – Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all feature at home, City travel to basement-dwellers Sunderland, while a couple of Belgians are also in the running as clear captain contenders. With an array of talent on show, just who is “Captain Sensible”?
Why isn't everyone a member? especially regular posters, it's only £15! that is only 39p per gameweek! 🙂
Open Controls20 euro that I don't need to spend on this without getting a good rank. 🙂
Open ControlsMinge bag....This site gives us so so much,it is always nice to give something back,£15 aint going to break the bank and i am surprised some posters have been here for few years (taking) without forking out...Shame on them

P.S. anyone taking part in Movember out there? I am (however not very successfully yet!) any donations welcome, all money goes to a great charity supporting prostate and testicular cancer research! http://MOBRO.CO/MIKEGASCOIGNE
Open ControlsI need the third world country discount 🙁
Open ControlsPaypal was(and is?) the only method and it's banned here 🙁 .. atleast at the start of the season it was. dont wanna join midseason now. hope neteller/entropay gets added next year
Open Controlsi gotta admit i dint try after the season started.. could not join preseason(india)
Open Controls
I found it too technical tbh I didnt need the stats and things I can do better without them
Open Controls
A quarter of the season is over
Open Controls🙁
Open Controls
Sod it. Cabaye I think.
Open ControlsMake sure that you choose your Michu replacement wisely.
There will be a lot of gloating this weekend from those that made the correct choice. You don't want to be on the wrong side of that.Open ControlsI'm already on the right side of not owning Michu.
Gloat, gloat, gloat xxOpen ControlsPull !
Open ControlsMake sure not to predict any player is not the Michu replacement. You will be wrong and you will be buggumarked mercilessly.
Open Controlsde guzman

And as the last wisp of autumnal wind whistles through falling golden leaves Huddlestone scores his first goal of the season.
Open ControlsI reckon Hazard got given his punishment tonight. I think he'll start on Saturday and be out to impress.
Open ControlsI think you're trying to convince yourself you are not in a pickle. Mourinho obviously p*ssed at him. Beware of the splinters Eden.
Open ControlsI'm very confident he will at least come on off the bench. He's the least of my worries as a Silva and Gerrard owner also.
Open Controlswhen did you get gerrard?!
Open Controlsahh curse of the early transfer
Open ControlsWhat curse i got the chel golden boy in for michu
plain sialingOpen Controls
Unlucky man, Silva should be okay.
Open Controls
Ok then, mini poll for Michu replacement:
Yaya
Ramsey
Coutinho
Silva
Go!Open Controlsanyone cave in and get ramsey this week? Feels like such a defeat to consider it after ignoring him this long and telling myself surely he will stop soon
Open ControlsDid it weeks ago. Instantly felt better. Try it, you'll love it!
Open ControlsGot him a month ago, after a blank at West Brom it's been sheer joy.
Open Controls+1
Open Controls
almost..had my finger on the trigger, but decided to wait it out another gameweek (and after the internationals) he got a tough away match at Old Trafford, then a match for Wales (though it's at home), then home at the Emirates against Southampton, then home to Marseille a few days later.
Open Controls
Is this good or bad for Hazzy?
"I prefer to say that Willian and Andre Schurrle made fantastic work for us. We have a big squad, we have players with quality, players who sometimes are frustrated because they are not first options but when they are chosen they do so well... Let's forget Eden because I didn't select him and on Saturday he will be with the team. We know his talent, he will be on the bench or playing, but he will be in the squad for sure.""
At least it doesn't sound like he's in the category of "dropped until he makes up for it"Open Controlshe'll play atleast some minutes don't know why everyone is going ape over it
Open ControlsBecause he's expensive and everyone's sick of blanking mids
Open Controlsyeh but all are blanking and since the start of the season everyone instead of sticking with a player swap him out and then end up missing his good returns. to many are impatient and want them to score every week thats impossible the only consistent scorers in fpl are the strikers
Open ControlsThat's a good point actually, midfielders score less often so you need to be more patient with them.
There's a difference between being patient with a player who's not scoring and being patient with a player who's not playing though...Open Controlsyeh but hazard will play there's no way the guy will get dropped because he has that special skill needed in one on ones that could unlock a defense so he'll never miss more then 2 games in a row not only that chelsea have no striker that score regularly unlike other teams so they need the creativity
Open Controls
Yeah I saw that, what a plonker. sounds like a short sharp lesson from Mou hopesfully.
Open Controls
It depends if "on the bench or playing" means "on the bench or starting"
Open ControlsYeah, I'm probably being optimistic as an owner here but I'm reading it as Mourinho can't actually give away that Hazard will start, so he's got to be vague.
Open ControlsI'm an owner too and I'm quite optimistic. I think he missed a training session and needed showing that you can't get away with that, so was left out the squad tonight as a punishment. I can't see him being left out on Saturday again as further punishment just for missing a training session. Mourinho knows it would probably do more harm than good. He knows that Hazard is one of his best players. I really think he could start. I think Mourinho is just doing some clever motivational wizardry here.
Open ControlsYeah I agree Mourinho had to show there were consequences.
Open Controls
I really hope Borussia fails to make the knockout stages, brings an end to this overvaluing german football year.
Open Controlsno way i like their football why make the ko's less interesting
Open Controlsthis is sad for me as I like their style a lot too. But everyone ovepraises them so much it sickens me.
Open Controlsi personally think their defense is way overrated but their play with the ball is great to watch they dominated arsenal yet still lost.
Open ControlsThat's like cutting off your nose to spite your face though! Barca and Real still get way more of the hype, we'll have to hear about Bale, Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar for the whole year.
Open Controls
Yup.
Still feel dirty from my transfers.Open ControlsLooks like the Michu owners will get some extra days to figure out a replacement (Red flagged now). Im tipping towards Schürrle or Nasri, both rotation risk, I know, but both played well in CL, and both got subbed off early.
Open ControlsYou should think longer term. It's not about playing this week only. Nasri is probably more nailed on than Schurrle as Navas is out of favour now, but will he get anything with Aguero/Negredo/Toure/Silva all scoring.
Open Controls
Made a complete mess of my transfers this week and could do with a bit of advice. Used two free transfers to bring in reid and silva and they both look to be injured. Is this team alright for the weekend??
Mignolet
Coleman, clyne, rosenior
Barkley, ozil, ravel, ramsey
Aguero, suarez, sturridge
Davis, burnerOpen ControlsMade a complete mess of my transfers this week and could do with a bit of advice. Used two free transfers to bring in reid and silva and they both look to be injured. Is this team alright for the weekend??

Or should i take hits to remove reid and maybe silva??Open ControlsOh dear. Sounds like Reid will be struggling to make it after the break, but your 1st eleven is solid enough. I'd start Silva tbh
Open Controls
So who's the choice of c this week then? I want a definitive answer. I need to be told what to do ffs!
Open ControlsFeeling very uncomfortable about owning a Chelsea midfielder right now. The return of Walcott couldn't come soon enough
Open Controlsanyone else thinking Walcott could end up occasionally playing up front when he returns
Open ControlsVery rarely, but he will do enough damage on the wing with Ozil now feeding him
Open Controls
Why? Chelsea's fixtures are great!
Open ControlsRotation minefield, I do have some Chelsea cover already in the form of JT

A nice update on 'not-seen' incidents:
http://www.thefa.com/News/governance/2013/nov/not-seen-incidents-retrospective-action.aspxOpen Controlsis Hazard rested for West brom Match ?
Michu > Silva or HazardOpen ControlsGreat win for The Arsenal tonight.
Another tough game against United next...
COYG.Open ControlsThey were all heart and deserved it. You can never doubt there team spirit and that counts for plenty.
Thought they would be beat tbh but glad I was wrong.Open Controls
Ramsey again??
Okay fellow non-owners. Are we still going to act as if he doesn't exist? Forget fixture proof, he's scoring all the time!Open ControlsConsidering oscar as my Michu replacement however I already have hazard.
Madness?Open ControlsYup. Try Nasri/Silva
Open Controlsif u have hazard i think it's better to get Silva or Coutinho .
I want ask u i have aguero and no Chelsea Coverage so it's better To get :
A- Silva
B- HazardOpen Controls
"This week, we’re opting for Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado. The Spaniard plays host to a Newcastle side that, in four away fixtures, have conceded 41 shots in the box, 12 big chances and 11 goals – Soldado has played a part in 6 of his side’s 9 goals this season and with Spurs registering 85 attempts on goal in front of their own fans, he’s still being afforded plenty chances to silence his early critics."
All true, unfortunately, much of those 85 attempts on goal are being made by Paulinho and Townsend 😆Open ControlsWhy are you sharing this precious information with the commoners?

I'm sure United will bring Arsenal back down to Earth on Sunday.

is my starting 11 ready ?? or should i lay barkley instead of townsend ??Open ControlsI would keep it as is.
Open Controls
Hazard will start on Saturday. He made a mistake . Missed training on Monday . Jose has made an example of him.panic averted.
Open Controlshmm im not too sure about that. he clearly said he is unhappy with how often he loses the ball and doesnt track back defensively the way mourinho likes. and with schurlle in direct competition with hazard for that left side, id doesnt look good for haz.. i know him and schurlle have played together before but they both have the same preferred position.
