These are hazardous times. Shopping in midfield is a thankless task, with little value and consistency on offer, aside from a pair of dominant forces who threaten to break the season, along with the hearts and minds of those too stubborn to jump on board their seemingly relentless bandwagons.

In this latest episode of the podcast, I lay the blame for my inept season squarely at the feet of my failing midfield and my reluctance to give Aaron Ramsey the time of day. Oh, how I crave those predictable days of the ever-reliable “Power Five”.

Granville does his best to ensure that my moans fall on sympathetic ears, although his sniggering gives him away on more than one occasion. In between giggles, my co-host joins me to dissect the week’s transfer activity, preview the weekend’s fixtures and mastermind another mediocre Gameweek for the ScoutCast lineup.

  Kolo may well be on the bench. All depends on him being a sub. With Lucas & Agger likely to play, I see a Pool CS so it makes the choice tougher.

  I sold Benteke this week for Aguero.
  
  Villa just not scoring at the moment and, as has been said above, all the players that supply Benteke are out injured right now.
  
  He's a terrific striker but right now, in my poor position outside the top million players I can't afford to wait for him and Villa to come good.

      It might be because of the bet365 XI isn't in fantasy guidelines. But if
      I had budget constraints and couldn't have more than 3 players per team it'd become too hard to find out and complicated.

        CS & Anytime Scorer is plenty for this purpose.
        Can't think of anything else. You will be stuck most weeks with at least 4 from one side i.e. Best CS team gets 2 players & could easily get an attacker & a mid. You got 5 this week from Liverpool. The picks will likely double up on attack also.

        Perhaps don't make an XI. Chances are it's over the 83m budget for 11. The top 3 forwards are obvious along with the 4 defenders & keeper.

  He's playing a bit deeper this season, being the main occupier of the holding midfield role. While guaranteed to start, he's very, very rarely going to score more than 2/3 points. Much better options available for the price and better returns on the more expensive Chelsea midfield options.
