These are hazardous times. Shopping in midfield is a thankless task, with little value and consistency on offer, aside from a pair of dominant forces who threaten to break the season, along with the hearts and minds of those too stubborn to jump on board their seemingly relentless bandwagons.

In this latest episode of the podcast, I lay the blame for my inept season squarely at the feet of my failing midfield and my reluctance to give Aaron Ramsey the time of day. Oh, how I crave those predictable days of the ever-reliable “Power Five”.

Granville does his best to ensure that my moans fall on sympathetic ears, although his sniggering gives him away on more than one occasion. In between giggles, my co-host joins me to dissect the week’s transfer activity, preview the weekend’s fixtures and mastermind another mediocre Gameweek for the ScoutCast lineup.

Is this front seven adequate enough for me to save my Michu transfer and have 2FT post int'l break? Or could I be looking at another historically bad midfield performance?

  May as well use a FT to shift Michu now as you will use 1 during the break to move him anyway. Sooner you get Ramsey the better as he is rising again very shortly.

  Sounds responses, cheers. The value in saving the Michu transfer until later is that I hope to have a better idea who to bring in for the run up to the holiday period. Could well be worth 0.3m in the long run, but the Hazard doubt makes my crew feel a bit too skeletal.

    Good point but I think Coutinho was missing Suarez in those opening 6 gameweeks. Rodgers was practically ecstatic at his contribution after halftime last weekend. Hazard is so inconsistent at the moment and November is a bit of tricky month for the blues.

      I think Nov is looking good for Che assets! Anyway though you have a point regards the intro of Suarez, however a Coutinho owner who got burned I'm hesitant to put him in the same league with Hazard until I see a goal from him.

One of my transfers this week will be a 1 week punt on Sturridge or Eto. Both differentials in my minileague which is my main aim.

Already have Suarez. Sturridge seems the logical pick, but I am always one to try and invent the bicycle so Eto is looking good after looking impressive against a strong Shalke side.

      Yeah any similarly priced midfielder will do, given the poor return of mids they are all punts in my view. Buy one that's too cheap and I promise you will spend that spare cash somewhere else and leave you short for Walcott later on....

  If you have lukaku and have choice I think rooney is sensible choice.
  
  Lukaku to Rooney is easy switch I think gw 14 when lukaku fixtures turn bad and rooney get excellent.

    That's exactly my thinking too.
    
    It all hinges on a) crystal palace defence not being better than expected and b) united attack not being better than expected. If they park the bus with Jones as destroyer this may be a good chance.
    
    Bear in mind Lukaku just matching Rooney points is fine as he's much cheaper and allows more points elsewhere.

      It's not just him though..He takes up the best positions of any mid in the prem over and over again...The ball just isn't played into the box quick enough as the other Spurs mids seem intent on playing it around th box and then having a pop from 25 yes...They are all playing different games at times...
