what affect has the opening day of the ashes had on the aussies odds of retaining?

Captain this week ??

Loic

Down to these 3 options - whatcha reckon?
A) Mirallas -> Walcott
B) Toure -> Figueroa (or any other sub 4.5m defender). Will start them this week in place of Ward and will mean I have enough cash for Nasri & Mirallas -> Walcott & Michu/Cout over the next 2 weeks
C) Save transfer
Boruc
Baines, Terry, Ward
Nasri, Ramsey, Mirallas, Snodgrass
Suarez, Aguero, Giroud
Davis, Ravel, Toure, Clyne
Bank 2.1m, 1 freebieOpen Controls -

Ok how does this wc team look?
Marshall Krul
GJ Terry Clyne Burner Vlaar
Hazard Sess Brady Ramsey Morrison
Rooney Suarez aguero
Not sure how I would get Walcott in when he is fit!Open Controls-
-
You aren't keen on him? Who would you suggest otherwise?
Open Controls -
I'm looking to bring him IN this week 😯
Open Controls-
Yeah, Chelsea's fixtures are good and I think he'll be a good pick
Open Controls-
I agree. My only worry over him is the Christmas rotation, though...
Open Controls

-
-
What's your wc team looking like?
Open Controls-
I'm not too thrilled about it, but this is what I have so far (waiting on news on the Hull boys)
Mignolet Harper
JT GJ Mert Vlaar ~4M
Hazard Sess Ramsey Ravel ~5M
Suarez Aguero (vc) Remy (c)Open Controls-
I see we've got very similar teams. You've gone for Rooney up front and I've gone for a more expensive defense, otherwise same story.
Open Controls-
Yeah very similar. I'm tempted by remy instead of Rooney. It would mean iI could upgrade Brady to Walcott and improve my defence....just wish there was some other man u coverage!
Open Controls-
Well at least with Rooney you have a lot of money tied up in one player, so you'd only need one hit to free up some serious cash. I've spread it over the defense so it's harder to free up cash to get Walcott. I've thought of Hazard as a Wally placeholder though, but you never know, might want both.

The team looks good. That frontline is causing you to sacrifice elsewhere and it would be nice to have another defender who you can play every week in a 4-3-3. How will you rotate your back four? Pick 1 of Clyne/Burner/Vlaar in a 3-4-3?
Open Controls-
Yeah, I prefer a 3-4-3.
Maybe Remy instead of Rooney would be the sensible optionOpen Controls
-
-
krul & marshall not ideal, both play home & away at same time
overall looks niceOpen Controls

-
Is James Chester fit to play this GW? What about Brady ? and is Whittingham to Amalfitano worht a hit ??
Open Controls-
I would def go for Almafatino
playing well and back to his right position crossing great balls to the front men and capable of scoring too, good fixtures too and long and sess in form to help his assists...... Good luckOpen Controls

The supremely talented Kyle Walker Tuesday night:

Who to play this weekend, Javuzzi or Ravel? Have Terry also so not sure about playing Ravel as expecting a cleanie by Chelsea this weekend.
Open Controls -
How valuable is a transfer?
Thinking about Toure -> a cheapie to i) field the next 2 weeks in place of Clyne, and ii) raise enough cash for future trades.
Worth using a freebie on this, or should I just play Ward the next 2 weeks?Open Controls-
I'm looking at Clyne to Coloccini this week? Already have Boruc in goal.
Open Controls -
Who knows what happens in LFC defense, in my book Toure + Agger is the best combination and Rodgers did say he rotated a bit at the back and praised Toure... I'm not too sure we won't see him back this weekend.
Ward has a decent fixture this GW, how about play Toure with Ward coming in and save your FT. If Toure is definitely out of the setup, you can ditch next GW with one of the 2 FTs.Open Controls

Anyone tempted with C Davies this week?
Palace at home up first, nailed on, bonus in 3 of the 4 CS to date and he has had the 6th most goal attempts in the box out of all defenders 😯Open Controls-
He's got 4 YCs with Chester costing 3.9 instead... just wish he could get declared fit.
Open Controls-
Ah, that's a bit annoying re the 4 ycs. But, I'd primarily want him for the next 2 weeks, so would mean he'd only need to avoid a yellow this w/e and that'd be grand.
Chester isn't fit this w/e I don't believe, and does he offer any attacking threat?Open Controls
-
-
-
Would you play Harper (PALACE) or Vorm (fulham) this week?
Open Controls -
Is it a safe bet to transfer in Coloccini this week?
Open Controls -
What to do with this lot DZ-ers? 1 FT 0 in the bank. Willing to take -4.
Migs I Boruc
Konscienly I Coleman I Murner I Shaw I Taylor (SWA)
Ramsey I Oscar I Barkley I Morrison I Gerrard
Roon I Aguero I SuarezOpen Controls -
looking at Lallana, i would only play him 3 times in his next 9 fixtures... why all the lallana love? and I already own him!
Open Controls-
Big points lately, then high up on the transfers in list makes him a big target.

am i mad to shift baines given hes the highest scoring defender?
just dont see much in the next 4 weeks LIV, STK, ars, utd
hes also got no attacking points bar the 2 free kicks v west ham
thoughts?Open Controls-
What do you plan on doing with the spare cash?
Open Controls-
well i can either take a hit this week and shift baines/townsend to
a) mertesacker, ramsey
b) gj, ramsey
c) 4.3m def, walcott
thoughts? worth -4 or just get merte or gj in and play townsendOpen Controls
-
-
Not mad at all. Yeah he's the highest scoring defender so far but so he should be for 7.7m
Those fixtures plus the fact his attacking threat compared to this time last season is a lot worse then I don't think it's madness.
Plus Coleman vs Baines on the Comparison Tool may surprise you.Open Controls-
cheers, what are your thoughts on my options for a hit above?
the other one for -8 is
baines, townsend, sturridge to merte, walcott, remyOpen Controls
-
-
He isn't worth the extra cash over Coleman. He has periods where he gets attacking returns but they are (predictably) never sustained.
I think you should hold for 2 weeks though and then sellOpen Controls -
Not madness, but I'd wait another 2 weeks before offloading. MD is a fiery affair so goals (and pens) could be in the offering. Then it's STO at home which is decent.
I'm a Baines owner and I'm pencilling in offloading him in GW14Open Controls
-
All the Baines sellers...
You will get burned.
This week.
🙄Open Controls-
Baines is a strange one. So many divided opinions.
it looks like he is hot and cold because people focus on attacking returns but he is consistent.
he will still be one of the top three scoring defenders at the end of the season.Open Controls -
If i had him i wouldnt sell
Open Controls-
Yes. I'm getting and keeping.
Open Controls-
Enjoy.
Open Controls-
Will do.
Open Controls-
...and yes, I will have Coleman to.
Open Controls -
I just can't see him being worth the price, compared to last season especially.
Open Controls-
Why? His price? Or the new bonus P system?
Open Controls-
I don't have those fancy tools you have, so I'm always interested to listen other views, especially since I can't really back up mine. Just a gut feeling.
Open Controls-
He might be worth it - I'm not sure obviously, but as you know I was a Baines fan last season and although he's going well compared to the others at 7M and compared to the other defenders he is just not looking as tempting to me as he was last year.
Open Controls
-
-
Not so much his price, I think it's the same as last season?
A few things;
- Emergence of Coleman and more emphasis on the right side of Everton's attack.
- Baines no longer the top "BP magnet" in Everton's defence, last season it was pretty much all Baines when Everton kept a CS, even though he's already got half the BP's he got last season, they've kept more than half the CS so it makes sense. Jagielka/Distin both equal or above him in BPS score at the moment.
- For whatever reason his attacking stats are way down compared to last season. Less than half the chances created/game and last 6 games he's only created 3 chances, last season he created 120 in 38 games.Open Controls-
Ta. Interesting.
Something to do with Peanut missing 4.5 games due to injury? New manager?Open Controls-
Might be a bit of both. With Pienaar back we'll be able to monitor before GW16 at least.

Boruc
AWilliams Dawson MTurner
Oscar Morrison Townsend Ramsey
Suárez Agüero(C) Rooney (VC)
Marshall Ward-Prowse Riether Chester
1FT & £1.9 in bank..
1. Riether > Yanga-Mbiwa and bench Morrison
2. save FT
3. Townsend > Sessegnon
Please suggest..
Thanks!Open Controls -
What's everyones thoughts on having 0 in the bank as long as you 'think' you have a good team?
Open Controls-
i always aim to have 1.0m - 1.5m in reserve.
if a player is injured then a replacement will usually cost more than your injured player and if a player becomes hot property, he will usually cost more too.Open Controls-
Never ending cycle. That means when you do replace that player you'll no longer have the money in the bank.
IMO just spend the cash you've got if there's a reason for buying the more expensive player, but don't do it for the sake of it. For example this week I could buy hazard but opting for sess as I think he's better value, more nailed on (especially in December) and has better fix. The money left over helps but it isn't the deciding factor.Open Controls

who would you rather have...
A) Remy
B) BentekeOpen Controls-
b)
Open Controls -
I asked same question & Eto was suggested as fixtures good & little ownership
Open Controls -
I'd go with the man in form. Remy. Fixtures are also amazing for the short-term. Eto'o is way too risky, his chances of starting this GW might be good but what happens when Torres is back?
Open Controls-
Yea that's the risk with Eto
Open Controls
-
-
-
Benteke also injured that means is McAuley is best Defender for next GW ?
Open Controls-
Benteke is not injured you willy. Stop scare mongering. This is not something that you want to hear first thing in the morning

Grav test
Open Controls -
Townsend and Chambers ----> Morrison and Koscielny (-4 pts.) ?
GJ, Terry, Williams, Chester
Hazard, Ramsey, Coutinho, Brady
Suarez, Rooney, AgueroOpen Controls-
Dont take a hit for someone your not going to play
Open Controls-
-
Well, at Chester it's not looking too good for. Need to free up cash to upgrade Chambers.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Kos will cost you -4 now and another -3 when he gets sent off.
Open Controls -
dont! save your FT
Open Controls
-
-
yes. although i do think it will be his last chance to impress.
Open Controls -
Can Eve afford to not start him? Lukaku's output had diminished since Barkley is not getting gametime.
Open Controls -
He'll be on loan at Derby in Jan

Who is best choice for gw12 captn n v.captn ...
A. Nolan
B. Yaya Toure
C. Soldado
D. GiroudOpen Controls-
E. Jwp
Open Controls -
nolan? really???
from those options, GiroudOpen Controls -
Of those choices, giroud, but if you don't have aguero, Suarez or Rooney you may want to reassess things!
Open Controls -
I'd consider Wildcard or a hit to freshen up your front-line.
Open Controls
-

I'd be wary of captaining Aguero if Silva is not playing. The defeat at Sunderland was a prime illustration of how devoid of creativity they become without him. Nasri saw a lot of the ball and whilst his retention was good many times he was forced to just pass the ball back instead of attempting the penetrating passes which Aguero thrives upon. Navas was then bought on and most attacks came through him taking defenders to the byline and chipping crosses in. Spurs do have a high line but with Walker and Vert on the flanks City will need someone with an eye for a pass to unlock Aguero....that person being Silva.
Open Controls-
True to an extent, but Silva didn't play when they dismantled manu either.
Open Controls -
City are a completely different beast at home. They've won by at least 2 goals in every home game this season (except for the Bayern Munich game). When they beat Man United 4-1 Silva didn't pay. Aguero is my captain, nay doubt about it.
Open Controls-
Who've they played though? Man United aren't exactly a defensive force.
Open Controls -
Bayern Munich, the only time they've been tested against a tight defence. United were a shambles defensively a few weeks ago.
