Festive rotation and Mark and Granvilleโ€™s rivalry were among the key discussions taking place amongst the community this week. Elsewhere, veteran poster, Christina, upped his game to deliver a pair of popular hot topics; we take a look back on these, whilst rounding off with our usual focus on the tournaments active in the community.

The Hottest Topics

Just how much rotation will there be during the hectic festive fixture list? Greenwindmill has been offering some crumbs of comfort with his detailed analysis of how the team sheets panned out over winter last season. For a number of sides, in particular Everton and Southampton, he found that rotation was less severe than we expected. The Serjeant has also been looking at festive rotation and in particular to investigate which teams have the most cluttered Christmas.

For those looking to scrape the very darkest depths of the Premier League barrel Christina has been on hand to look at the slender pickings among the worst performing clubs. Jonathan Walters and Dimitar Berbatov are among those ultra-differentials being offered up.

Not sure what theyโ€™ve been putting in the water at Christinaโ€™s place, but the community verteran has been flying this week, notching up a second hot topic nomination, this time looking ahead to the January Wildcard and the best time to throw it down.

The tussle for supremacy among ScoutCast rivals Mark and Granville has captured the imagination of Just A Hat this week, who wonders if Granville will maintain his mini-league lead. Lateriser12 feels that Granville is set thrash Mark this season, while Tinkerman envisages a miraculous comeback for Mark.

Among those to answer our hot topic about whether Christmas is the season for giving our bench fodder an overhaul, or taking a risk that they wonโ€™t be needed was Fratboy, who is seizing the moment to ditch Cardiffโ€™s Jordan Mutch.

Captaining a player in an early Saturday kick off is often seen as the nemesis of any superstitious Fantasy Football manager. Luckily Nice To Finally Michu was on hand to run roughshod over this old wives tale. His analysis of captain options in the early games this season so far show that whether a player starts at 12:45pm or 3pm makes no difference to their chances of racking up a respectable points haul. I also dropped my monkeyโ€™s foot in surprise.

The Community Leagues

Thomass67 tells us he is launching a doubles โ€˜Big Bash Leagueโ€™ shortly. For more information and to register ahead of the November 29 deadline click here.

TorresMagicโ€™s Last Man Standing lost another 32 managers this week leaving 586 left. Myo Min Thant leads seeding for the FPL Open and Beric leads for the Elite 64 competition. More details can be found here.

Meanwhile the FFS UEFA FA Cup Tournament is underway this weekend. A review of last week’s stage and the latest on this week’s can be seen here.

Is it worth it as they're pretty ordinary atm. I'd wait to gw16 to get a MU defender.
      gw13 - Tot, gw14 - Eve, gw15 - New
      gw16 - Aston, gw17 - whu, gw18 - hull, gw 19 - nor

MU seem to be leaking goals atm & I wouldn't go near them.

And Moyes wanted Baines all summer in spite of Evra being at the club...Baines is 18 months away from being out of contract, really think it could be a goer as early as Jan.

I was going to buy Jags in gw16 when his fixtures are sweet & double up with Baines.
Everton gw 13-15 = Stoke, MU, Ars
Everton gw 16-19 = Ful, Swan, Sun, Sou

As you say Jag is the bp king for defenders. Central defenders are the way to go I reckon.

The best performing defences in the league are Southampton, Arsenal, and Chelsea, so going with two of these would be a reliable strategy. Boruc and Szczesny makes a lot of sense. Howard, Jääskeläinen, and Begovic also offer good value. Personally I think that Sunderland and Hull will take some hidings in the coming weeks, so I'd steer clear. This season I think there's good value in GKs from strong teams, rather than just a blend of 4.5 and 4.0.

that's only half true. yes refs ruin some games by making bad decisions. but if someone does something worthy of a red, then they deserve to go. really annoys be when ref tables are brought out showing how many cards different refs hand out. it doesn't necessarily average out.

        Completely agree.

Refs should not be lookimg to dismiss any player, but do all they can to keep it 11 v 11. There are rules are dangerous or persistent infringement do need to stopped but throwing red cards around is not helping.

I would have loved to see Rooney sent off - but in truth it was no more than a yellow and ticking off and ref was spot on. Wes Brown - a terrible decision as player took clean ball, no player and was not two footed.

Too many refs hide behind the "laws" black & white, however the laws are always down to interpretation. Some Refs love the power they wield in that great black book & ruin games too often!

Rooney kicked a player off the ball, that's a red card.

The onus shouldn't be on refs to not give red cards, it should be players to not be idiots and do things worthy of red cards.

The refs don't always get it right, which is why I think there should be video replays to help the refs.

Suarez away to a promoted side, tempting but not enough for the band.

Lukaku could of had 5 yesterday.

I did Lukaku -> Remy (c). Probably would have captained Aguero if I didn't do it. I'll tell myself I would have captained Sessegnon though to ease the pain. Could have been worse though.

overall lukaku to remy for me is a good move

Yes lukaku scored 2 and could have had 5 but he does this one game and then goes missing for the next 5.

Remy got a goal and for me has better fixtures and his stats show he is more consistent than lukaku.

I think it's a decent pick going forwards.

Can't really decide on this one, so a little word of advice would be nice

    Boruc
    Coleman Terry Ward
    Yaya Oscar Ravel Ramsey
    Lukaku Aguero Suarez

    Subs: Davis - Lallana - B.Davies, Chester

Should I ditch Boruc to get Migs up until gw 18 then ditch him and get Szczesny instead? Waste of a freebie? A decent move? What are your thoughts lads?
