There’s a trio of new arrivals on this week’s Tightrope, the most high profile being a certain United frontman. Wayne Rooney’s caution during Sunday’s draw at Cardiff, picked up for a seventh-minute “challenge” on Jordan Mutch, means he has now accumulated four yellows – if he receives another in any of his side’s next eight league matches between now and January 1, Rooney will serve an automatic one-match ban.

Earlier today, it was confirmed Rooney will not face any retrospective action after kicking out at the Cardiff player, as the incident was dealt with by the referee at the time. Similarly, Everton’s Kevin Mirallas looks set to escape further punishment for his challenge on Luis Suarez in the Merseyside derby – the Belgian, who was also booked for the indiscretion, has since admitted he was lucky not to be dismissed.

According to reports earlier this afternoon, Cardiff’s Gary Medel has escaped punishment for apparently raising his hands in the direction of United’s Marouane Fellaini in yesterday’s 2-2 draw.

Rooney was also joined on the Tightrope by Everton’s Ross Barkley and Southampton’s combative central midfielder Victor Wanyama, who were booked against Liverpool and Arsenal respectively. We now have 26 players sitting on four yellow cards, with only three clubs – Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Cardiff – not represented.

Liverpool do, however, sport the player with the most bookings to his name – Lucas has incurred the referee’s wrath no fewer than six times in the first 12 Gameweeks. Sunderland defender Wes Brown and Palace wide man Yannick Bolasie were both dismissed for dangerous play at the weekend and are currently poised to serve three-match bans.

The FA confirmed earlier today, however, that both clubs have contested the decisions – the Black Cats are particularly confident of winning the appeal in light of Brown’s challenge on Stoke’s Charlie Adam in a 2-0 loss at the Britannia. Fulham’s Sascha Riether will complete the last of a three-game suspension against West Ham; he will return for the Gameweek 14 home clash against London rivals Tottenham.

Gus Poyet welcomes Lee Cattermole and Andrea Dossena back into the Black Cats’ fold for the trip to Villa after the duo’s respective three-match suspensions came to an end last Saturday. Elsewhere, Mathieu Debuchy returns for Newcastle’s home game with West Brom, having served a one-match ban at home to Norwich for accumulating five yellow cards, whilst Mathieu Flamini is back for Arsenal’s trip to Cardiff, giving Arsene Wenger a double-pivot dilemma away to the Bluebirds.

There are several, seem to be pretty set in defence. Check FPL stats for minutes played, it's all in their transfers section.

A corollary of the Pulis effect, apart from the fact that it's probably not instant, is that he'll make his own choices. So as of now nobody's nailed on Until Tony Says So.

Strangly couldn't wait to get rid of him, couldn't find a free transfer to do so. Preety much had no choice to play him last 2 and he delivers 14pts. It's a strange old game at times.

Would anyone fancy spending some of their time and giving me some advice? 🙂

    Migs
    Terry, Kosc, Coleman, (Burner) (Chester)
    Ozil, Hazard, Brady, Amalfitano, (Janujaz)
    Benteke, Suarez, Rooney

    2 FT, 1.2 banked.

    A) Rooney -> Aguero
    B) Ozil + Benteke -> Ravel + Aguero (with a hit next week to get rid of Coleman and Brady to Gabbidon + Walcott)
    C) Coleman + Ozil + Benteke -> Gabbidon + Walcott + Aguero (-4 hit)
    D) Don't bother with Aguero since he has 2 away games in a row after this GW.
    E) Something else?

Aaahhh posted as new. Mate, I said...

      C) and then get rid of Coleman next week for no hit. Walcott and Cardiff and Aguero home to Swansea might pay you back your -4. Or B) then see where you are next week.

Can't do C without getting Coleman out now as he is part of the funding of Walcott + Aguero.

I suppose B is a good option if Walcott looks to not be starting but C better if he is going to start on the weekend (despite losing Coleman at home to Stoke which is a bit painful).

Terry has great fixtures and is a BP magnet. Would only be able to get someone up to 4.4 if I did that and then I'd have to find an adequate replacement for Coleman the following 2 weeks as he has mun and ars.

    A. Skrtel
    B. Coloccini (or other newc)
    C. Evans

I know United have couple tough ones next but it eases up after that so don't mind bringing Evans in now.

could be a lot of rotation for the Gunners forthcoming? Walcott, Flamini and soon Podolski will be available. Wenger still undecided about Walcott for Marseille:

ok doos i'ma listen to this Alvin Lee song. for two reasons; the first is that when i originally played it my ps3-on which i be- was incapable of running it wivout insurmountable lapses in proccessing power. the second is that what little i did hear, reminded me of 'since i bin lovin u', my favourite zep song. so for those two reasons, and nowt to do with what little respect i have for you and your kind, i'll give it another go

please disregard the words placed between the last and second to last commas. the thought of including them made me burst out laughing. incorporating many people into one 'kind', i'm sorry, i find it hilarious. helps if you're drunk

in a rare moment of delusional self-awareness, what if my digestion of ethnic, social and cultural bigotry is as much a problem as that of those who actively participate in or ostrichhead the malaise. i think that anyone who thinks that two people are the same because they share something, be it gender, race, or sexual preference are, well, laughable . not like in a shared sensibility kinda thing. but come on. without explicit bigotry how are u to know which people can't be trusted and deserve to be run outta town on a rail. i love to laugh at people's expense. if we didn't have such ignorance who the hell am i meant to feel good about mocking?

      this year is just wacky
look further down the list, Daniel Johnson (Villa) 2500 transfers in today, 7300 transfer in for the round already and has never played a minute. granted he's the only 4.0 midfielder available, but seems insane to roll with 4 midfielders, especially approaching xmas. But what do I know

How comes Pozuelo is starting now for Swansea? Has he been impressive recently and will hold his position or is it more due to injuries to certain players?

Why not double up on Liv. I have Migs & thinking of buying Skrtel for Baines. They play Hull away this week & Hull couldn't even score v Crystal Palace. Then it's Nor (h), WHU (h), Tot (a), Car (h).

In summary I expect cs v Hull, Nor, West Ham & Car. Maybe Tot as well. So I think there's not much risk at all in doubling up.

    Opinions please.

Are they really leaking goals. Top 10 on table with goals conceded

        Ars 10, Liv 13, Che 10, MCI 12, Sou 7, MU 15, Eve 13, New 17, Tot 12, Swan 16.
And 3 of Liverpools goals out of the 13 conceded came in the Merseyside derby which is always high scoring.

it was a derby and since they have gone to the back four i think they are alot better. Agger and skrtel are both bonus points +attacking potential imo. skrtel is a beast in the box

6 extra points this evening (very disappointing considering that I had 3 players) was enough to turn a red arrow to green and get me under 60k.
Plus I won my pp cup matchup on the tie-breaker.
    Positives.
