As always, we cast our eye over the statistics across the previous round of matches to highlight some of the stand-out performers. Chelsea’s change of formation bodes well for their midfield veteran, United’s former Toffee provides chances aplenty, Villa’s misfiring frontman still has reason for optimism, while Liverpool’s young full-back delivers a tenacious display in the Merseyside derby:

Is it worth the risk of playing Schurrle this week for my draft league team or take the safer route by playing Sissoko? My other mids are Walcott, Gerrard and Mirallas.
Open Controls-
Schurrle may well get a full game midweek. I'd chance him. No show = autosub.

2 part question; Have 2 FT!
1. Drop Ozil or Oscar for Coutinho in order to fund Aguero purchase?
2. Who should i swap for Aguero? Benteke or Lukaku? If i drop Ozil for Coutinho in the above, i can afford Lukaku>Aguero, if i drop Oscar for Coutinho, i and only afford Benteke>Aguero!Open Controls-
ozil for walcott? 😕 that's what i'm considering....
lose benteke 😯Open Controls -
1. Oscar
2. Benteke
Going to be tricky removing 2 players that play at home though 😕Open Controls-

I might drop Ozil. Big price. But I would drop Benteke as opposed to Lukaku. Lukaku is in a better team.

good point thanks
Open Controls

1. Yes...I'd probably drop Oscar, but Ozil wouldn't be a wrong choice either...all sacrifices to feed the Legion of Kun are good ones! I'd say it depends on how much cash you want left over.
2. Bentekkers -- he's great, but not in form and Lukaku is (and also great!).Open Controls -
100% keep Benteke this week. Scored a hattrick last year vs SUN.
Lose Lukaku for next 3 (though you might want him back GW16)
I would drop Oscar out of those 2. Keep Ozil for next 2.Open Controls-
Thats what i am thinking.....but need to drop Ozil if i were to keep tekkers. Should i take a hit and do terry>GJ? That would fund keeping Benteke!
Open Controls-
I know everyone on here loves GJ but Agger is the same price for 5.7.
Probably nailed for 2/3 baps if Pool get a CS, and a great threat on set pieces.Open Controls

Similar conundrum. Have Suarez Benteke Lukaku and most likely it's Benteke that has to make way. But gut tells me that's the wrong move, though head says get Aguero in (though would be for a hit).
Between Oscar and Ozil, would drop Oscar. Ozil is still quality and would be keeping for next 2 at least. I'd be adverse against selling Lukaku though, I think he could get points against ARS and United.Open Controls

Wally and Aguero welcome to my team.
Bye bye Rooney and Ozil.Open Controls-

Aguero's more important.
Open Controls -
Easy for you to say with the SAR front line, haha. But the issue is - is Aguero in a rampant MNC side better than Rooney is a stop/start MUN side even with better fixtures ? Not easy.
Open Controls-
Aye if it's a straight choice between the 2 it's Kun all day every day, but it rarely comes down to that.
Open Controls-
Lukaku/Rooney/Suarez. Keeping Lukaku. So it gets down to Rooney v. Aguero. I also have Baines so I am trying to decide whether to bring in Aguero this week for Rooney or swap out Baines.

Gerrard/Schurrle/Walcott/Mirallas
Lambert/Bony/Crouch
Not used: Sissoko, Snodgrass, Rat, Vertonghen, Shawcross, Brady, AmalfitanoOpen Controls -

Coutinho OR Gerrard?
Coutinho playing more attacking role but Gerrard is a Penalty Taker. Headache!Open Controls -
Hi guys this is my team for the gw
Mig 4.0
Ivanovic Coleman clyne Chester burner
Hazard Ozil Ramsey Sess JWP
Suarez Benteke lukaku
2.9 banked
Looking at options to bring Aguero in but would be for -4. Thoughts on the accompany transfer to make? Need about 0.4 extra to be safe.
Reluctant to do it this week especially for a hit given Benteke plays Sunderland and his compadres are back. He really improved once they were subbed on and for once didn't have 3 defenders marking him. If I don't do it this week, will save the FT and make the call next GW.
ThanksOpen Controls-
That's a good bank for transfers and your front line all have good fixtures this week. No hit. Next week.
Open Controls-
Thanks. Trying to maintain a bank of around 2 mil for some flex going into December. So to get aguero in, Ozil will be the one most likely to make way for extra funds. If I do move anyone else just to get the 0.4 extra, would be left without a bank once Aguero is in.
Likely to save the FT. Uneasy doing it, would be first one this season. But trying to be patient.Open Controls
-
-
if you're getting aguero, I think it's gotta be this week
Open Controls-
You think so TW? I would be nervous about not owning Aguero. Another factor is that ML rivals above me have aguero so Benteke would be a differential...for better or for worse 🙂
Would have to shift ozil to get him in for Benteke. Thoughts on who to get in for ozil and if worth a hit?Open Controls
-
-
Could you lose Ivan to fund it?
Open Controls-
I could but should I really? Chelsea fixtures are strong for defensive returns, though could get Agger or Mert in.
But core issue is - crucial to get Aguero in for a hit this week? Or save the FT and give it another GW and essentially give Benteke one more chance against SunderlandOpen Controls-
You need Aguero.

Now that Snoddy is officially out injured is his value protected against dropping??
Open Controls-
I'm not totally sure of the rules this year but I think no, unfortunately. I think a price is only protected if a player is flagged and then removed. With a flag the threshold for a price to change may be increased though, so more people have to sell him for him to drop.
Open Controls-
Tks for the info - gonna have to keep hold till next week as already made this weeks changes.

what's best way to free up .2 (already have 1.0 in the bank) to do rooney to aguero?Open Controls-
I'd say either Shaw to a budget defender or Ozil to Coutinho/Hazard/Walcott. I'd probably lean towards the first one. Southampton's fixtures are pretty rough.
Open Controls-
which budget defender would you suggest?
I have ozil to walcott penciled in eventually, i'm just worried that this week is too soon....Open Controls-
Well I jumped on Walcott on my wildcard last week so I can't really talk about moving too early...
You already have Collins and Murner which were the names I was going to suggest. Maybe Ben Turner or one of the Crystal Palace choices. Looking at those names, moving Ozil suddenly looks way more exciting...Open Controls

Gerrard vs Coutinho
Gerrard (Cost 8.9)
2 goals, 5 assists, 8 baps, 60, points from 1,051 mins - avg 0.057 points / min
Coutinho (Cost 8.5)
1 goal, 0 assists, 0 baps, 21 points from 535 mins - avg 0.039 points / min
Now ... i know Coutinho has been out injured and marginalised somewhat with Suarez returning, Moses, Henderson, etc. but surely Gerrard is the Liverpool midfielder to have given he is nailed on and has penalties and free-kicks in his locker.
Coutinho love is based purely on one game, and I'm not sure he's reliable. This is coming from the guy who had him nailed on in pre-season with his form and opportunity and then spent the first 3 weeks vomiting in buckets watching him play.Open Controls-
both of gerrards goals were from penalties and you need to look at chances created and most of this is with out suarez, thats were all the Coutinho love is coming from
Open Controls -
Yes, Gerrard. Look at his history. Playing deeper but still on a ton of FK and corners. Consistent FF gold.
Open Controls -
It's not just the one game though. He had like 10 shots against Fulham and his shot/key pass stats indicate he was dreadfully unlucky earlier on the season. Now, he could be one of those Taarabt like players whose stats don't tell the full story but generally shots/key passes are pretty good predictors of fantasy success; often better than actual points.
Open Controls-
True, to some degree ... my only gripe with Coutinho is that all the stats in the world can point to the fact that he should be scoring points with aplomb, but ultimately points in the bag (i.e. Gerrard occasional penalty and corner assist) are actual points and not "predictor" points.
Since Suarez returned Gerrard has been more dangerous also ... in fact he's picked up 80% of his points with Suarez back in the side from GW 7.Open Controls
-
-
He's integral to their attack and should produce consistently when healthy with assists, but rarely will he have any breakout FPL scoring weeks imo. Can earn the odd BAP or two as well. But he's probably never getting 3.
Open Controls -
Gerrard is an absolute monster with Suarez in the team but the problem is that when he is not playing, Gerrard struggles to get any attacking returns. All of his goals/assists this season have come when Suarez returned. I don't think he even got an assist when Liverpool beat Newcastle 6-0 last season after Suarez's ban. As long as Suarez doesn't do something stupid again, Gerrard should continue racking up the points regardless of the opposition.
Open Controls
-
-
I hope everyone else's defense is a bad as mine or somewhat close because i didnt get a single cs last week and Chico my top scoring defender got two while everyone else as a defender or GK got 1 point including those on the bench. I would love a nice Walcott showing to maybe compensate for the lost points. Anyone feel confident in your defense for now or in the future? If so, how's your attack looking?
Open Controls-
I'm with you ... had an awful week with defenders (Ridgewell's injury meant Dawson auto-subbed in for -1).
I think even the expensive teams are leaky (i.e. Chelsea, Man City, Man United) and now that Southampton have tricky fixtures and West Ham have so many injuries it could be down to the likes of Stoke, Everton, Newcastle, etc. to get cleanies ... the good news is that it's a cheaper route so you can spend more on attackers.Open Controls-
that's always what i've thought but its always so disappointing to see such few points coming out of the back when your defenders have a tough matchup, especially if you have doubled up
Open Controls
-
-
Mine all look great. They just don't get me any points worth having.
Open Controls -
Scored to clean sheets in 2 weeks off Ward (last week he came off 3rd sub) so nothing to complain about here.
I'm happy with my Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Southampton, Palace combo at the moment, 3 cleanies this week.
May lose Spurs (walker) soon as they have over-performed from their actual ability imo. I think Chelsea and Arsenal are both pretty decent options and SOT will continue to do well once they get through this fixture run. I may even double up Ivan / Terry short term.Open Controls
-
Anyone else think this year is kind of like back when Lampard, Ronaldo, and Gerrard were all dominating in the Prem. Their FPL prices were very high but if you got all three into a team with out the rest of your eleven suffering too much you were golden because they would definitely outplay their pricetags no matter how high. Yes it is early, but I think we're seeing a little bit of that this year with Rooney, Aguero, and Suarez; all are dominating with few signs of slowing up but all aren't exactly budget friendly
Open Controls-
Lampard and Gerrard could easily become near essential soon too 😯
Open Controls-
sigh, not Ronaldo 🙁 , that would be a nice asset for my team
Open Controls-
and speaking of players Real Madrid have spent an absurd amount of money on, Gareth Bale's NTI today is -1!
Open Controls
-
-
-
I think it is just Aguero and Suarez who are "essential". Lukaku is a decent alternative to Rooney and frees up funds to upgrade elsewhere
Open Controls-
Funny how things work. Come GW16, Rooney could be the new "essential" especially with Kun's 2 away fixtures n a home fixture vs Arsenal.
Open Controls-
I just think they are far and away the best 2 performers this year both in PPG and underlying stats and one of them will nearly always be your captain. I don't believe anyone is fixture "proof" in that players will score more against bad teams but I wouldn't transfer them out as they still likely to score and I would want them back in.
Long season though and players can go out of form or get injuredOpen Controls-
Indeed. In other words, not owning either of them could cause any FPL addict insomnia on a Friday night.

Clyne, GJ, Coleman, Ivanovic, Rat
Ravel, Mirallas, Hazard, Brady, Ramsey
Suarez, Lukaku, Aguero
cheers! 🙂Open Controls-
i have suarez rooney aguero atm going to trade out rooney to lukaku GW16 and upgrade my defence. but why mirallas and why get rid of gerrard? i reckon dont get GJ since you have migs. and get mert or kosc instead. and i prefer terry over ivanovic but that is debatable
Open Controls-
idk, maybe it's just seasons past influencing me but I'm not entirely convinced on Arsenal's defense ha..
and only reason I'd take Ivanovic is because he gets forward more besides corners..why would you prefer Terry?Open Controls-
bonus points and is great scoring from corners. close to same attacking points as ivan i reckon but with bonus points.

6 transfers. Seems quite a few in a short time with the Jan WC not too far away. Decent team in the future. Don't think Ramsey will be the Arsenal choice of attack with Walcott back. Lots of faith in Everton going forward.
Open Controls-
would like to get Walcott in, think he'll absolutely THRIVE with that midfield behind him (if Arsene continues to play him in an advanced position)
maybe I'll just wait it out until the WC..

Since the topic of defence has come up, I'm expecting cs & bps for all my defenders this week.
Mignolet, Skrtel, Terry, Mert = somewhere around the 30 point mark would be nice. If one of them scores a goal it might even approach 40.Open Controls-
It's nice to dream. With my terrible defence, I hope it isn't the case.
Open Controls-
is defense your priority with the Jan WC like me TM?
