Having made a huge two-point dent in Granville’s mini-league lead, it’s time to change strategy. I’ve been complacent for too long, allowing my rival and co-host a weekly insight into my plans, welcoming his nagging little voice into my head to play havoc as I hover over the transfer button. As my phoenix-like ascent prepares for take-off, it’s time to play cagey.

With my transfer plans kept hushed, Granville does his best to use his Derren Brown like powers to have me reveal all. Along the way we assess the week’s transfer activity in “all aboard”, preview the weekend’s fixtures and decide whether any Fantasy manager can possibly do without the Aguero/Suarez captain combo.

    My def is pretty poor, as I'm front-loaded with SAR. So, I'm tempted by the potential of A.

      I had a similar issue but wanted to keep some Arsenal attack so did Ozil to Ramsey freeing up plenty of funds to improve the defence (GJ and Mert)

        Can't be doing with Ramsey at this stage. With ownership that high, and my current rank (1m-ish), it's just pointless.

    Who is a must have forward less than 9.5m up to January?

    Negredo, Remy or someone else... Cant get Giroud as I already have 3 Arsenal (Kos, Ozil and Rambo)

    CBs are better picks than FBs but what about nailed-on-ness? Like GJ is the safest pick from Liv so is Evra and Walker, their teams have competition in CB pos. but they are almost irreplaceable, so does this allows us to have a FB? I don't mind paying more but i need my def to play.

      A FB like Evra is great United cover, I transfered Evra out and that was a mistake.
      GJ is the best Pool defence pick.
      Jagielka for Everton.
      Terry for Chelsea.

    Just posted but it got lost on the last page!

    Just discovered Arnie is injured so I’ve swapped him for Morrison, this is what my current team looks like:
    Migs
    Chico Zaba Rat
    Morrison Sess. Ramsey Oscar
    Aguero (c) Suarez Rooney
    Bench: 4.0 keeper, Delph, Chester, Brayford

    This team is looking like a real mess to me right now, is it worth trading out one of my non playing defenders for a hit? 0.7 in the bank. Thanks for any advice 🙂

    Mark doing terrible this year brings me to something. Is it a disadvantage or huge disadvantage even being a fantasy veteran? Meaning the past knowledge influencing the current fpl decisions too much and not seeing the light of the tunnel? In example Ramsey/ Toure etc...?

    I have a long long text on this, need to rewrite it a little bit.

    Somebody asking about Thorgan Hazard earlier on the last thread...For the record he's scored eleven for the season including tonight and assisted 12...and helped get his club up to second in the Belgian league...and I still have no idea why he's over there.

    Just published v0.4 of the Gargatron. On special request from FORCA INTER it now shows how many points you've lost to point hits throughout the season. Just restart Chrome and the extension will update automatically.

          I've always liked to track gaps such as gaps to 1st, 1K, 5K, 10K 100K etc. Tells you exactly where you are. Is that possible?

            It's most certainly possible.

            But I'll need to think about how I could get those numbers without looking through a vast amount of FPL team pages.

              It should be relatively straight forward.

              The leagues page has 50 entries per page, so 1000 will page be 1000/50 = 20.

      Does the tool gather any data each time it's run? you could do a lot of interesting analysis with all the responses.

        I hear what you're saying, but what kind of analysis would that be? There is no pattern to the FPL players that have used it I would think, except that they're probably a bit better than average.

          Depends how many people used it - a large enough sample would obviously be more representative.

          I'm thinking for example whether there is any correlation between rank and points hits, average scores for captain and autosubs (this would help contextualise the results, as per Mr Smith's comment below), indeed averages for all the figures shown, to see where your own numbers fit in compared to others.

          Well I'm just reading numbers, some look good some not but I have no idea what it ultimately means, ie the end result, rank.

          If it's not that interesting don't bother, just thought it might contextualise the numbers a bit more.

          How about potential rank, if max captain / starting XI had been picked?

            The second suggestion is a very interesting one, and one that the3rdturd gave yestreday too. I agree with you both that it would be very interesting but it's also a challenging one.
