Having made a huge two-point dent in Granville’s mini-league lead, it’s time to change strategy. I’ve been complacent for too long, allowing my rival and co-host a weekly insight into my plans, welcoming his nagging little voice into my head to play havoc as I hover over the transfer button. As my phoenix-like ascent prepares for take-off, it’s time to play cagey.

With my transfer plans kept hushed, Granville does his best to use his Derren Brown like powers to have me reveal all. Along the way we assess the week’s transfer activity in “all aboard”, preview the weekend’s fixtures and decide whether any Fantasy manager can possibly do without the Aguero/Suarez captain combo.

      sissoko is a crapshoot , id say evans will get 2 or 1 vs tottenham and maybe 6 vs everton thats being generous so lets say 7 , sissoko needs an assist to equal that its possible , but honestly impossible to tell if it were evra id say evra

              Nope, because Pardew said Williamson will "100% start" this weekend. Scout tweets. And no way Mbiwa will start ahead of Colo for the other spot in central defence. And Debuchy will this his customary role after suspension. So likely Mbiwa will make way

              If you have a transfer to spend, possibly. But he's not exactly burning a hole in the budget isn't he? Probably play Clyne/Burner until you have no other priorities.

        He is under threat of being transferred out no doubt but I still fancy them as a tight defensive unit. If we hear he is being rotated or dropped he's gone. Possibly to Terry.

            If I do that though I cannot afford to get Rooney into my team until like GW17. If I went to a £4- £5m def I could achieve him by GW15.

              I dunno. I've never had much luck planning more than 3 GW in advancefor a specific move. Looking out further is more about general strategies/concepts for me. Who knows how tired Rooney will be or if he'll get a rest.

              OTOH, Terry and Ivan look pretty convincing in the next few weeks and beyond.

    If I play 3-4-3 and if 3 of my 5 defenders (including those on the bench) play 0 minutes for the GW, would a midfielder on the bench be automatically brought in to become 2-5-3? :8

          Your team must have 1 goalkeeper, at least 3 defenders and at least 1 forward selected at all times.

          If your starting team has 3 defenders, and one of them played 0 minutes, he can only be replaced by another defender who played.

    Can anyone tell me why I should have aguero as captain over suarez? Suarez seems to be on fire and scores home and away for fun...aguero played 45 CL and swansea might park the bus against them surely city cant be scoring 5 6 goals every week and swansea will learn from norwich and spurs....someone plz convince me otherwise!!

        good analysis

        Hull and Citys games (the one youve analysed) have been against pretty muck teams. I dont think it'll have much bearing on this wknds fixtures.
        I mean looking at Spurs form who'd have predicted 6-0? Nobody, they had good defensive record - but they hadnt played 'City' yet.
        Same for Liverpool when they lost 2-0 at Arsenal.
        I reckon both Hull and Swansea will be comprehensively outplayed.
        I reckon their deficiencies will be shown up against much stronger teams this wknd
        Both to lose 3-0 and the armband 50/50.
        Do I give it to Aguero cos he's on penos or Suarez who's on direct FK's??
        I'll prob just panic on Sat morn! 🙂

      And Swansea played a tough game last night.

      Its probably 50/50 considering Liverpool are at Hull but I reckon City are likely to get 3 at least

      Yes do it.
      Christmas season ahead and you'll want ALL starters in your team. When the games come thick and fast players drop like flies and your bench is vital.
      Villa have shown some great resistance this season and Baker at 3.9 is a good option with good fixtures until Jan

      Hey Toonzie,

      Team looks okay, can put out a good 11 and have a sub or two. I would save the transfer because the next week(s) are going to be a bit crazy. I reckon you'll want to try and keep 2 x FTs for as many GW's as possible.

      I'm only making transfers if a 'must have' appears or can't turn out 11 plus one/two subs

        Yeah it's a bit unnerving, but those expensive def aren't really doing it anymore and now rotation is about to kick right in.

        Rather have a non-playing 4.5m def than a 5.5-7.0m def.

    Never too late if it's a good move. I wait to do transfers now as I got burnt by Silva injury a while back.

    If it's a good move then I'll do it but I like what you say about fixtures.

    If I do Townsend to Ravel I can then do Rambo to Hazard.

    Man City have good fixtures; but the easy ones are away from home. Their away form has been terrible. But I still want to double up on Aguero and Negredo from GW14 onwards... Am I crazy? Is it worth it considering they are scoring a lot of goals?
