With little time for turnaround between Gameweeks, we roll out the Round 2 results and Round 3 Draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Before we look at the remaining contenders for the crown, those taking part should note that these ties take place over Gameweek 15 – the Gameweek 14 midweek matches do not count towards your tally:

Our defending champion Wild Rover seems to have risen to the occasion and, having climbed the rankings in the last couple of weeks, now faces Hillbillypete for a place in the Fourth Round. Wild Rover is one of only three previous Scout Cup winners still remaining; GoonerDave goes up against Mufcste55 – the latter is the favourite here, sitting just outside the top 10,000 – whilst sleepingmaster pits his wits against bigfourleggedbeast.

Mark’s podcast co-host and Champions League tipster Granville swept aside Dullardinho last weekend and now faces The Upper Deckers, who sits just inside the top 1 million. Gaz Downright – who tops the Contributors and Moderators league – is up against 2ndMan, whilst fellow moderators applebonkers and Ryan have been drawn against ste2510 and Bedknobs and Boomsticks respectively.

Amongst the community members still in with a shout, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shin Pad takes on Jafooli, The Sarjeant faces Isacki, EpicFAIL has been drawn against The Shadow and Daniel plays host to The Flying Nugget.

Giuliop11 may well be considered the favourite for the title. Sitting in 164th spot overall, he’s the man to avoid – Ferenc55 stands in his way of a Fourth Round spot.

As usual, we name-check the highest scoring winner from the previous round. Realunitedfc takes the honour, after racking up 90 points in Gameweek 13 – now up to around the 17,000-mark, he swaggers into the next fixture against bcdahm.

If you fancy a glance back at the Round 2 results, click here or if you are awaiting the fixture list for the next batch of head-to-head, the draw for the Third Round is available here.

As always, good luck to those still in with a shout of the silverware.

The Boruc replacement conundrum for 5 and under. Let's look at the options (sorted by price then points).

    5.0
Guzan (AVL) - Gaining form and decent fixtures. However, cheaper options in defence.
Krul (NEW) - Jekyll and Hyde team, but probably best long term option
Vorm (SWA) - Great record last season, but rotation risk with Tremmel. Good looking fixtures though.

    4.9
Ruddy (NOR) - Kept a clean sheet last week, and have some decent fixtures coming up. Also have cheaper options in defence.
Pantilimon (MCI) - Plays for a strong team with great form. Poor fixtures and Hart is always a downside.
Stekelenburg (FUL) - Poor form and fixtures plus uncertainty with Jol gone. Would avoid.

    4.5
Marshall (CAR) - Poor form, but good fixtures coming up. Might be a good bet till the Jan WC
Myhill (WBA) - Same as Marshall but plays for arguably the better team. However, has Foster lurking.
Speroni (CPL) - Pulis defensive record might just speak for itself, especially with their fixtures coming up. But would you be confident in keeping him long term?

    4.4
McGregor (HUL) - Just returned from injury with not-so-great fixtures. However, Hull's defensive record has been solid.

    4.2
Mannone (SUN) - Cheapest playing 'starting' keeper. However, poor fixtures and threat of rotation from Westwood.

    3.9
Gazzaniga (SOU) - Should be playing with Boruc and Davis out long term. Worth the gamble till the Jan WC?

Conclusion - tonnes of options available makes it really difficult to choose. Your choice should depend on a few factors:

    a) Who is your second keeper? If he's a playing one, consider looking at their rotation prospects. If he's a really strong keeper (i.e.: play every week), then consider getting the cheapest as playing bench fodder.

    b) If your 2nd keeper is doing nothing (e.g.: Harper), then consider funds + long-term plans. Do you want a keeper till the 1st week of Jan, or slightly longer term till the end of Jan?

For what its worth, I have Boruc-Harper and am thinking of getting Krul.

I don't think he had a problem with United at all, think he was sick of Fergie. He's here to stay, clearly enjoying his football and Moyes will be hitting the TM in the summer hard (and hopefully a bit next month as well).

Why B? Lost faith in Pool

If you look at Migs post GW18 until the end of the wc window

tot, CAR, mci, che HUL, sto, AVL

Marshall coveres those 3 away fixtures with

        WBA, SUN, SOT

Howard and Marshall on wc, another potential option

I am a Remy owner & I've noticed people selling him to get Rooney in this gw. But Remy plays Swansea this gw & could easily score a couple of goals. If people wait until gw15 when New play MU the sale could proceed then. Are people worrying about Rooney's price increase. I just don't get it. Any insight.

Im one of those that have done it. If i hadn't of done it tonight, i wouldn't have been able to get Rooney without upsetting the balance of my team. I would be happy to have Remy this week but Rooney is more important in the longer term.

Because I see his chances of an assist from a corner or set piece or goal from spot kick higher than Coleman's chances of attacking returns or cs.

this, theres always the off chance of a peno, whereas i think the chances of a coleman cleanie are slim

It's time to get rid of Barkley, but I can't seem to find a midfielder who is both nailed on and has good fixtures under 6.2 Already have Ravel and Amalfitano. Quick-fire suggestions?

Wouldn't base the decision just on one week. Even if rested this week, he'll be the top scoring mid in the game.

You need more transfers to drop and get some protection when they are removed.

It just slows their % down. So it might take ages for them to go from -60% to -90% etc. They still drop once they reach -100%. Thats how I understand it anyway.
