The festive schedule starts to kick in now as we brace ourselves for the first of six sets of fixtures this month. Gameweek 14 gets underway this evening with Tony Pulis’ first home match in charge of Crystal Palace as Sam Allardyce’s Hammers roll up to Selhurst Park:

The new Eagles manager has a tough task on his hands – his side have scored just once in the last five Gameweeks, courtesy of our “Spot the Differential” pick Barry Bannan, though one goal against in the previous three signifies their recent resilience at the back.

Big Sam’s side roll up on the back of a 3-0 home thrashing of Fulham last weekend, which ultimately led to the dismissal of Martin Jol. Having failed to score in four of their six road trips, though, there is a fear tonight’s game has 0-0 written all over it – a result that would send the viewing public to sleep, perhaps, but one that would be widely accepted around these parts, with many anticipating clean sheet returns.

The team news is now in and sees the home side unchanged from Saturday’s trip to Norwich, with Cameron Jerome up top alongside Marouane Chamakh. West Ham make four alterations from the weekend, with Joey O’Brien, Razvan Rat, Ravel Morrison and Carlton Cole replacing Guy Demel, George McCartney, Matt Jarvis and Modibo Maiga.

As always on Matchdays, we’ve opened up our Dugout Discussion chatroom right up until the final whistle for those looking to get involved in a spot of real-time banter.

Hey everybody. Hows things been on here?
Any regulars competiting for overall title this year?

How are the bonuses working out long term? Has 343 uber returned or was a stronger defence justified?

After deleting my team due to frustrating results, they remained in a h2h league as a ghost side and have been doing pretty well. Goals from 3 defenders this week.
A bit of me regrets what I done, other bit is glad.

Decided to pop on tonight after checking the scores from the weekend. I've found FF fuelled my football interest and I've barely followed things since quitting.

Hi Sanchez, things are still pretty fristrating around here FPL wise. Beric is around the 1k mark and I've seen a few others post top 1k ranks. I'm doing badly but progress is being made most weeks.

Bonuses are still mainly rewarding the goal scorers and CBs with clean sheets. Pretty much everyone is playing 3-4-3 with Suarez, Aguero and 1 other (mostly Rooney or Lukaku, some Remy).

Surprised you gave up, was it going that badly?

Not that bad. Was still expected to win ML but I got too angry after bad weeks. May return next year.

Back to 343 then? I'd built up a defence of Terry, Walker, Mert, Coleman, Lovren. Probably was never wise. 😀

😯 maybe that's why you were doing badly! 😉

I can't comment on defences, mine has been a disaster this season, can't remember the last time I got more than 1 CS in a GW from the back 4 (if I even get 1) and its been useless for attacking returns. Wasn't until Terry on Sunday that I got a goal from the defence this season.

In a couple of weeks I want double Everton defence, but I don't want to go without Pool defence

For this reason, assuming I manage to save the FT this week, it makes more sense to sell Migs and Williams to Howard and Flanagan than it does to sell Williams and Gerrard to Jags and an 8.1 mid.

    Does this make sense?
